I was actually talking about more than Jews, as it is also important to Muslims and Christians. I also mentioned the first crusade, which Christians partook in. I was not saying that it is important to all Jews, but to some. But given that there has been like nine hundred years of conflict over it, it is definitely important to some religious people. And it is as important to the Quarians as Jerusalem was to Christians in the medieval period - because what the Quarians are doing is essentially a crusade. Medieval Christians - "Kill the Muslims and take Jerusalem" vs "Kill the Geth and take Rannoch".

It has nothing to do with any perceived "significance" the Quarians feel Rannoch has. It's all about "It's our home planet and we let them kick our asses off of it, so we HAVE to take it back."

Didn't the first crusade happen because the big wars in Europe ended and there were suddendly armies, knights etc around that had nothing to do? So before they got silly ideas the pope declared a crusade to get them all out of Europe.

Environment is a primary factor in shaping social culture, unless you'd like to argue that Native Americans (with their multitude of different nomadic, agricultural and fishing based cultures based upon environment) and Mongolians or Buryats are the same culture. What is your goal in repeating this over and over even though it has been thoroughly refuted? According to the game, the difference between Rannoch and any other colony is "the difference between 60 years and 600", neither of which is "the blink of an eye without a problem" but one of which is literally 10x easier. You must be the type of human your William James was talking about.

If you'd been paying attention, it's indicated on multiple occasions that the quarians have been looking for a suitable colony world (indeed, this is that cowardly, geth hugging traitor Admiral Koris's entire shtick if you'd bothered to listen), but no viable ones had presented themselves. The closest we got was a planet called Ekuna, where this happened......(according to ME2 description)

"First discovered by the quarians at the turn of the century, Ekuna is habitable, but a second-tier choice for most species. Circling an orange sun, Ekuna averages below freezing temperatures. This led development firms to colonize at the planet's equator, where the climate is tolerable for agriculture.
