Pirates and raiders; naval warfare. Maybe tussle with some Qunari dreadnoughts. Admiral Isabela, anyone?

Sounds fun! Jumping from ship to ship fighting pirates. It would be nice to see some stens in action, besides our Sten. I just want to see her big hat, and she survives no matter what in DA2.

1- Solas (obviously) with more lore usage (something like Temple Of Mythal and its follow up)
2- Story based on the Inquisitor's backround, or one that focuses on the Inquisitor in general (but still referencing his background).
3- Citadel-esque dlc.

I don't think the devs plan to finish Solas' story in DLC.  IMHO I think they plan to carry the elven pantheon storyline well into future games, so why finish his story now?

But Val Royeaux yes yes yes.  We didn't get anywhere near enough of Val Royeaux ingame, so the Coronation is a good excuse to do so.

They don't have to finish his storyline, indeed I don't think they will, but that doesn't mean they can't give some closure to the Inquisitor's part in it. Sort of like Witch Hunt and Morrigan.

I want a prequel showing the fall of Arlathan. Ain't going to happen, but I've wanted to blast back into the past since Origins so I could see  what it was like "back in the day."

Wolf Hunt - I want some answers, baby!

Wha's up with the Wardens? - A little trip north to check on things?

Coronation:
The coronation of Divine Victoria, potentially awesome in and of itself. Throw in a conspiracy story set in a much expanded map of Val Royeaux, possibly interacting with the current ruler(s) of Orlais and we could get a lot of interesting content.

I Approve of this :D. I've stated multiple times on the forums that ideally I'd like to see an expansion kick off with the coronation of Divine Victoria, opening up the rest of Val Royeaux. Assuming we don't get a proper expansion to the game, then this would definitely be the DLC I want to see the most.  :)

Solas is something they'll get to eventually, whether it's during DAI's DLC cycle (most likely ), or whatever is next for the series. My hope is that they'll wrap up southern Thedas before they move on.

Speaking of the supposed Wolf Hunt, this is hopefully what they'll do. The Inquisitor as a character should get some answers and closure with Solas before the next chapter in the series, but Solas' story is too big in the grand scheme of things to be wrapped up already within Inquisition.

I'm not particulary fond of comparing it to Witch Hunt however. Storywise it's obviously a fitting comparison, but Witch Hunt was overall not a impressive DLC from the gameplay side of things in my opinion. DA2's Legacy and MOTA should be the inspiration for future DLC :)

Wolf Hunt

Frankly, I find more likely to see Solas' story being concluded in a full fledged sequel than in a DLC.

***

Find out what's going on with Hawke/Stroud/Alistair and the Wardens

And I for one truly, sincerely hope they'll use the opportunity to kill the Warden. Not merely give you the opportunity to kill him/her like Hawke in the fade, but make the Warden's death a foregone conclusion.

The writers & devs drove themselves in a corner by making the Warden too powerful, and had to go out of their way to remove this character from the setting because his/her presence would have screwed up the narrative.

Problem is, too many people are too fond of Origins (which happens to be the game I like less in the series, but I know I'm in the eccentric minority here) to not clamor for a comeback of its protagonist. So sooner or later they'll have to bring back the Lady Warden Commander Sue in the games, and the best way to deal with this narratively problematic character is to definitely get rid of him/her.

***

None, actually. The stories I'd be interested in deserve more time and depth than a piddly little DLC where story would probably have to fight for screentime with monster bashing and other silliness and just leave us with a rushed and shallow mess

Depends: if the DLC is a full-fledged 20 hours-long expansion like Awakening, it could be satisfying.

3. MOAR Alistair

Forget about Alistair: more Ferelden: coming back to Denerim or visiting Amaranthine would be nice.

Why yes, Wolf Hunt will be an excellent conclusion for Solas just as Witch Hunt was for Morrigan  :P.

I'm not an expert on game development, but it's my impression that it'd be easier to implement a new Val Royeaux as a stand alone experience than integrate it into the existing game. That's why I think that a Coronation DLC represents a fantastic opportunity.

Of course, I was comparing it to Witch Hunt more conceptually rather than how well it actually accomplished that task.

(1) Solas -> Wolf Hunt

(2) Val Royeaux Majesty - The WHOLE City, even sewers, rooftops and distant/hiden slums - Don't really care about what will happen, just want to see the city
(3) Stat Paradise aka Fade Journey - You walk through the fade and depending on your path/choices in quests you get base points to some stats, you could optimize and get like +24 dexterity or roleplay and end up with +3, +4, +3, +7, +5, +2 str/dex//mag/wp/cun/con, also lots of new fade-touched materials with new interesting effects

  1. Wolf Hunt
  2. Those across the sea (I suspect this won't come into play until DA4 or DA5)
  3. Some sort of madcap Tevinter reform hijinks with Dorian and/or Qunari invasion and/or visiting Nevarra

I know I should mention something about the Grey Wardens, but I'd reached my Warden saturation point by DA2. They featured heavily in 3 games and 2 novels. They're soldiers, they'll do anything to stop the Blight, they're supposed to be politically neutral but never are. I'm not even all that interested in the Architect, and I let him live.

They're not uninteresting, exactly. It just seems like... there's so much bigger stuff going on than Wardens and blights. And any time I'm hanging out with Wardens, I'm missing out on that stuff. Unless there's something deeper going on with the blight, and the entire order is being manipulated by the Bigger Stuff.

I want to learn about cultures, history, and places that are completely new. I mean, I'd buy a Warden civil war DLC, but it's definitely not in my top 3.

I'd like to see people get sick of and turn on the Inquisition...or just generally making your job hard. It's too easy right now. Maybe even give you the option to disband it and walk away, agreeing with them.

-The Elven Gods. Solas, Mythal, all the jazz. Probably too big for one DLC to effectively tackle, but eh.

-The Grey War, civil conflict between the Wardens. Probably too far in Weisshaupt, we could maybe see a sideshow featuring the Fade Survivor?

-Divine Victoria: everything surrounding the coronation and reforms.

-The Future: What of the Inquisition, now that it has fulfilled its purpose? Disband, change or continue on? That was a theme in the game, I can't believe they would let this question go unanswered.

This, of course, assumes that DLCs are post-game and not set during the war with Coryfishstick.

12 companions? Cullen and leli can fight but Josie? You want to take Josie to fight corypheus??

Yeah, I did misspeak but you don't need her.  Although she could be given a moment of humor where she's seen berating a Venatori/Red Templar on the finer points of Orleasan law who's looking somewhat baffled when one of her assistance blasts him/her over the head with a chunk of Skyhold debris.

I posted this in another thread earlier tonight, but it fits here.  This is pretty long, but this is what I would personally enjoy:

1) For the first story DLC, it seems obvious to me that we'll be dealing with the Wardens.  More importantly, one big DA tradition was not in Inquisition: The Deep Roads.  We never went there (even Varric comments that we weren't in the Deep Roads, but too close for comfort) and the game creators almost always find an excuse to go there.  Come to think of it, the only times the player hasn't gone to the Deep Roads at all was in MotA and now in Inquisition.   I'm almost positive that we'll end up in the Deep Roads.  I think we will end up at Weisshaupt for sure and probably going into the Deep Roads from there.

According to the lore, the Anderfels is a rather blasted place, much worse than the Western Approach.  In some areas, corpses don't decay with how poisoned the area is.  I guess a few hundred year long Blight did a number on the land.   Anyway, recycling a small part of the Western Approach would work the best for an area to put Weisshaupt in.  There isn't a whole lot there, other than sand and cliffs.  It's even already got some Warden icons here and there.   So the devs wouldn't have to set up an entire zone, only Weisshaupt and a bit of the surrounding area. Throw in a few more griffon statues, some preserved-looking corpses and it'll fit with the lore.  I know I've been wanting to see the Fortress since the Fade sequence in Origins.    ;)

2) More dwarven lore, probably tying into the above.  The Legion of the Dead, or the dwarves of Kal Sharok might have a few stories of their own when it comes to weird Darkspawn and histories with the Wardens.  We did get the chance to work with that city with the War Table, so they could pop up again in a more concrete fashion.

Bringing it back to the Wardens, there have been plenty of dwarven Grey Wardens throughout Thedas' history that also might have very old stories as to what's going on.  Perhaps more about the Old Gods, and why there are ruins scattered around with a mix of both elven and dwarven styles in the Deep Roads.  I do think they are related, after paying close attention to Solas' behavior this time around.

3) Speaking of which, I think that Solas' story will be the final DLC, just like with Witch Hunt.  I suspect that, since the male GWs got to walk through the Eluvian with a romanced Morrigan, I have a feeling that something similar will happen with the Solas romance.  I also think that, just like with Morrigan, you'll get a chance (try) to stab him, chew him out or otherwise wound him for creating the whole mess.   No offense, Solas fans.

I also think we'll see some of the Mythal/Solas situation resolved by the end.  And possibly something that will create a more satisfactory sequel hook than the post credit ending.  I also think that this DLC will involve Morrigan somehow.  I'm starting to believe that her merging with Mythal (not Flemeth) is her fate that the writers have in store for Morrigan.

It'll be regardless of their choice about the Well or the OGB Kieran, or the romance status with the GW, or any of that.  There would be alternate dialogue to address those things, but it wouldn't change a huge amount of a potential story.   I think that Solas will want to let Mythal be reborn, and would welcome another of..."his people" in any incarnation to help achieve his goals for the elves.  We'll see how that works out.  <shrug>

I don't think Flemeth is going to take her over, nor do I think Morrigan would stop being herself.   This merging would be voluntary, to ensure that old magic and knowledge wasn't lost.  That is Morrigan's MO, after all.  While I think Mythal lives on through some sort of weird soul/body sharing thing with Solas at the moment, I believe that Flemeth as the players and characters knew her is dead.

That's my current DLC choice list.

1: Solas
2: 'the other like them' Solas and Abelas have a 'chat' about. Or well, rather a single remark, but it has been bugging me ever since.
3: The Will of Mythal: focus on either the IQ or Morrigan, depending on who drank from the well.

I'm perfectly aware this could all be one DLC :P

I would approve. :)

The way I'm picturing that idea is what Obsidian did with Fallout: New Vegas and Ulysses. You get plenty of little nods, and kind of trace his history and recent actions through the other DLC's, and it all builds up to the final confrontation to Mr. Flag-Back. Except this time it'd be with the esteemed Messere Egghead.

A thought: if "Wolf Hunt" is the last DLC, how would people feel about Solas' storyline being threaded through the other story DLC leading up to it?

I would like that.  My ideas in my previous post were pretty much in order of how it would go.  I have the theory that the Old Gods are the elven pantheon, forced into dragon form and sent to slumber in the Deep Roads.  If nothing else, it's certain that Solas is awfully touchy about the Old Gods and stopping the Blight.

Theory aside, I think that there is a lot more secrets involving the histories of the dwarves and elves.  I would not be surprised to see mentions of the Dread Wolf and the other ancient elven "gods" mentioned in a Deep Roads DLC.  There has been hints for awhile that the two cultures are more intrinsically related than it first appears, so this would be a great opportunity to explore those ideas further.

I put gods into quotes, because, well...just because something is ageless, very powerful and wise doesn't make it a god.  I use the term ageless, not immortal as Mythal's original body was killed.  Nothing is immortal in DA.  Even spirits can die.   Things are ageless though, or so it would seem.

I never thought of this, but I think I'd actually prefer it to "Wolf Hunt" being the first DLC. Anything that builds suspense and and gives us more delicious lore to chew on is welcome in my book.
