Screw Corypheus. Let's bow down to the real god. All hail the nightmare. All things live to feed him. Look upon his glory and go mad from fear.

Seriously though. The nightmare definitely was one of the highlights of the game. I'd kind of like to see him again, but I fear that Bioware would ruin him by making him an beatable boss that you kill and frankly I think there should be some things in the world of Dragon age that are too strong to kill even for ridiciously overpowered special protagonist snowflakes.

Ewww, I hate it when I see pictures of a lotus pod photoshopped onto someones body. It really grosses me out. And yes, ye ole Nightmare makes me think of this.

Cory needed to take lessons from the Nightmare. The demon was a great villain with an awesome voice. To me, the most important part was his presence. Throughout most of that segment, he's talking/taunting the player and the party. It really brought me into the moment, and drove home how dangerous this thing was. I had a fun 45 minutes in the Fade. It doesn't hurt that the Fade story was one of the strongest bits of writing in the game imho.
Cory, on the other hand, has so little screen time that he might as well just be the Architect, or some random Awakened Darkspawn. Racking my brain, I think we see him twice....? Once at Haven, and then at the end. Unless I'm mistaken, and I could be given lack of coffee, I think he has barely 20 minutes of screen time. And he's the main antagonist! Why should Cory get less screen time than the Nightmare?
I vote for the Nightmare to be a villain for one of the DLCs. He's much more interesting and frankly, scarier than Cory could ever be.

You also see Corypheus at the arbor wilds and hear him during "under her skin" (not in person though) should you side with the templars. But yes the Nightmare is more interesting and scarier than Corypheus and I say that as someone that does think Cory makes an decent villain.

Nightmare is awesome, he was way more intimidating than Corypheus.
As I've said before elsewhere, I kinda wish that he'd gotten out of the Fade, betrayed Corypheus and then declared himself as the true Elder One... that would have been way more interesting of a plot twist and made the stakes in the game far more dire.
Personally, I like to imagine that that's what happened in the Dark Future we saw during "In Hushed Whispers", because with reality itself breaking down as the Breach grows, plus the horde of demons swarming the land, Nightmare would have fed off so much fear that he'd far outclass Corypheus?
I honestly doubt that he wanted to help Corypheus become a God out of sheer charity or because he offered him an easy meal, Nightmare had to have some kind of plan that we interrupted in HLTA?

I don't think we'll see the Nightmare return. Doesn't Spirit Justinia say something about the Nightmare being locked away in some distant corner of the Fade after you close the Rift?
You might very well think that, but as the old saying goes;
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn... In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.”

Corypheus and the Nightmare had the same voice actor.Cory needed to take lessons from the Nightmare. The demon was a great villain with an awesome voice.
In fact, I think Nightmare was speaking with Corypheus' voice.
