Best inquisitor voice actor?

I find the male american voice actor to be the best one, primarly because it has more range than the other voice actors. He can handle the role of a charismatic, authoritarian leader while also pulling off the different sides/moods of the inquisitors personalitt flawlessly. Imo the american voice is the best at portraying a fullfledged, multilayered character. Its pretty much the same reason why i preferred female shephered to male shepherd in the mass effect series.
The females voices have different strength and weaknesses. The american one seems alot more charismatic and intimidating than the english one. Its great if your going for a serious, stoic kind of inquisitor. At the same time the american voiceactor seems kinda "stiff" at times. Some of her line deliveries falls kinda flat, while the brittish one adds alot more personality and versality to her line deliveries. The american one is kinda onesided in comparison.
On the other hand the brittish one dont feel particularly charismatic. She doesnt really feel like the strong, mighty leader of a powerful organisation, but rather like a articulate scholar/bureacrat. That doesnt make it bad though. It depends on what your aiming for with your character.

Depends. I thought Sumalee (American female) was great at sounding commanding. She's precisely what I'd expect the Inquisitor to sound like. She's a bit stoic at times, which is probably a flaw for some, but it fit my Qunari well. That said...her delivery of a lot of the flirty lines was downright smexy. Have to say it.
Alix Regan I found to be pretty solid all around. My favourite scene from her was Iron Bull's drinking scene after killing a dragon. She actually sounds like she's getting more and more wasted with every drink, slurring her speech, I half-expected my Lavellan to fall out of her chair when she tried to get up afterwards. ![]()

Jon Curry's voice works best in charismatic situations although some of his in Here Lies The Abyss were rather unfitted. Also, Alix Regan isn't as strong as she was in Mass Effect 3. I haven't tried Sumalee yet.
Harry Hadden-Patton might be unexperienced as a VA but I dig his voice. So dreamy. ![]()

I unfortunately don't really like Jon Curry's (American male) performance as the Inquisitor. I only picked him once for a Qunari Inquisitor, but later (around 10 hours in) deleted the character because of the voice and other CC-related stuff. I,however, love Harry Paton's (British male) work as male Inquisitor. Similarly,I only picked Sumalee (American female) for my dwarfette, but I completed that playthrough (it was my third one) finding her to be perfect for that Inquisitor (one who has to act strong in front of everybody, but occasionally loosens up with friends & loved ones). Alix was, however,my choice for every other female Heralds I created.
In the end,my favorite was Harry, mostly because he surprised me with his performance (which I thought was really, really good). Pre-launch,I wasn't convinced at all that he'd work for the Elf Inquisitor I had in mind, and I even considered doing a female character instead because I really loved Alix's work as Traynor,Mhairi and Cauthrien, and I also could not stop listening to the "Stand Together" trailer.

I really liked the British female voice, especially when I play a diplomatic Inquisitor.

I also love Harry Hadden-Paton's voice. Of the the voices I've used, his is my ultimate favorite. I could listen to him all day. There were a lot of lines the inquisitor had that were funny, and the way Hadden-Paton wound say them would make me laugh harder.Jon Curry's voice works best in charismatic situations although some of his in Here Lies The Abyss were rather unfitted. Also, Alix Regan isn't as strong as she was in Mass Effect 3. I haven't tried Sumalee yet.

Only one I haven't used yet is Jon Curry so I cannot comment on his.

I really like Hadden-Patton, Curry, and Wilton-Regan. I can't really even pick a favorite.
Not a big fan of Montano. She was just ok, in my opinion.

I wish there were more options for the low voiced Male Inquisitor.

Henry hadden-Paton was really good on the actual acting but I spent half the game going 'why so posh', so that really brought down my enjoyment. Haven't played Curry yet.

I think Solas's voice actor pretty much nailed every single line 100%.

I like everything but the male American. But then, I don't care for the types that fit it well (male dwarf and qunari).

If you really want to ruin your day, try taking Sumalee to the wyvern pit (maybe clan Lavellan traded with lots of dwarves or Vashoth?). Because of how reserved she usually is, the scene is a punch in the gut. She lets this tiny sliver of raw desperation into her voice, and it's enough.
She completely sells the transition from "punching dragons in the nose and sassing the Elder One" to "on the verge of tears". It's subtle and elegant and wonderful and gahhhhh... she's so good.

Haven't played a male yet, but do like whichever one does the British one (Curry...?)

Alix Wilton-Regan is my favorite simply because my own voice is less "commanding" than the American actress's voice.
Montano, however, will be my pick for my female dwarf run.
Henry Haddington-Paton is my default male voice.
Jon Curry's tone is lovely, but the delivery was flat. Don't know if that was him or his director, but he needed to put more emotion into his delivery.

Henry Haddington-Paton and Alix Wilton-Regan.
Unpopular opinion but I actually used the british male voice for my Qunari Inquisitor. I think Haddington-Paton' voice suits very well if you play a younger, inexperienced male Inquisitor, regardless of race.

Either voice works for Adaar, really. Their parents probably would have had American accents, since they're actual Tal-Vashoth and would have grown up around Qunari. But if Adaar hung out with lots of Marchers in the course of their merc work, they'd probably pick up the British accent.
Ditto for Cadash. It would depend on whether they mostly dealt with Carta, or mostly with ordinary Marchers.
Even Lavellan could go either way, since the clan was said to be less insular than most Dalish clans. Would probably be more likely to pick up a Marcher accent, but they could have had more dealings with dwarves.
The only difficult crossover would be an American-accented Trevelyan. But IIRC, Ostwick is further north, so they could encounter more Qunari and Tal-Vashoth. Maybe the Ostwick accent leans more American as a result.

I like both the British VA. They both seem to hit the right emotional notes I want from them for my Inquisitor.

I have a definite preference for the English accented woman. I just don't like the tone of the American actresses voice. In my only male play through I used the American VA even though I played a Trevelyan. I just find it a little odd to see a black man with an English accent - even though I know they exist (hello, Idris Elba). Also, in my head my Maxwell is totally one of my cousins and we are all Americans. So that is another reason I prefer his voice.

Ostwick is southern tip of the marches, across from Ferelden.. not far from Denerim (Kirkwall is more to the left, across Highever). And it's the one free marcher state that still seems to borrow Ferelden trappings (they have Teyrns...while Kirkwall seemed more Orlesian influenced. Not to mention Trevelyan is Cornish.. I think they're going for a similar British feel). They have nothing to do with Qunari, except fighting them off once.
