I don't actually require the Solas story to be resolved in a DLC, but I really want to be able to have the Inquisitor get in on this revelation. As it is, the Inquisitor could potentially be a good friend or former lover who is now totally in the dark. I'd like that to be dealt with at least.

I imagine the Inquisition will find out either in a DLC or following game.

I'd prefer it to happen in a DLC than another game, because patience is a virtue I just don't have enough of. There's also the probability that the Inquisitor will not be a playable character in the next game, granting us no control over how this revelation is handled.

Truer words were never spoken.

I wonder if they have an x-pac planned for DA:I also, for the simple reason a few 2-3 hour dlcs will not tie up all the loose string left after completing the main story line.

The Solas stuff can't be moved to the next game. I will be very unhappy if Inky cannot slap the living daylights out of butthead.

Thankfully, if they save the history of Solas to the next game, will not make any sense if were not with the Inquisition.

I actually have a gut feeling that in the Final DAI Story Dlc Solas will end up either possessing or outright killing the Inquisitor to get the Anchor which would be an interesting twist thus allowing B-Ware to remove them from the overall Story that opens up the possability of the Inquisition being disbanded in DA4 or some other entry.

Can you imagine the outcry from the Solasmancers if they did it man that would be something to behold?

I'm thrilled we aren't hearing about it. No release date, no trailer. I want Bioware to take their sweet ass time, make it great. I want meaningful story content, and that isn't made overnight. Take your time Bioware.

What if the DLC is about Kieran?

The whole OGB thing has been hanging over our heads ever since Origins.

That only really works if the OGB can exist regardless.

I don't think a DLC would do the Solas plot justice. It's too much for 2-3 hours of additional gameplay. I'm also not sure if it's enough for a full game either.

How comes nobody thinks we might get an Expansion like Awakening?

Because the devs have been saying for years now that no more expansions will be made, just DLC like Legacy/MotA. Awakening under-performed and they took a hit on it.

A lot of players don't even have Kieran in their world and Flemeth took the Old God soul out of him if he was in your world. It was a hanging thread for some people and BioWare clipped it already.

The first story DLC will be a timed exclusive, but the first DLC will be the Black Emporium. They remain entirely vague about DLC so who even knows which they're talking about. They won't even say if the Black Emporium will be free or not(which means it won't be free).

And why does it seem like the concept of DLC was foreign to them all of a sudden? They knew they were going to be making story DLC well before the game launched. Not just because duh but because they had already agreed on a timed exclusive for XBone. It's not like they got caught flatfooted by fan reactions like the ME3 team. Inquisition was received better than it should have been, considering the amount of game-breaking glitches and the lackluster story. Their heming and hawing over DLC makes them look incompetent.

Mike specifically said there would be no expansion like Awakening, but that doesn't mean the DLC stuff will only be the size of say, Leviathan. We could easily get a 6-8 hour DLC with about 2-3 hours of story content. Something like a new zone to explore with a starting story dungeon/bit and an ending one.

I'd rather they use one of the underdeveloped zones they already have before a whole new one.

I think that the DLC will be about Solas and will set things in motion for DA4. With the way the game ended, I cannot imagine a DLC being about something else, not after the custscene with Solas and Flemeth.

After finishing the game for the second time about an hour ago, there is a few things that I'm strongly suspecting for DLC.  These are all just guesses.

1) The first non-MP DLC will be the Black Emporium.  Which I'm looking forward to, easter eggs and all. :)

2) For the first story DLC, it seems obvious to me that we'll be dealing with the Wardens.  More importantly, one big DA tradition was not in Inquisition: The Deep Roads.  We never went there and the creators almost always find an excuse to go there.  Come to think of it, the only times the player hasn't gone to the Deep Roads at all was in MotA and now in Inquisition.   I'm almost positive that we'll end up in the Deep Roads.  I think we will end up at Weisshaupt for sure and probably going into the Deep Roads from there.

According to the lore, the Anderfels is a rather blasted place, probably worse than the Western Approach.  Recycling a small part of the Western Approach would work the best for an area to put Weisshaupt in.  There isn't a whole lot there, other than sand and cliffs.  It's even already got some Warden icons here and there.   So the devs wouldn't have to set up an entire zone, only Weisshaupt and a bit of the surrounding area. Throw in a few more griffon statues and it'll fit with the lore.  I know I've been wanting to see the Fortress since the Fade sequence in Origins.   ;)

3) More dwarven lore, probably tying into the above.  The Legion of the Dead, or the dwarves of Kal Sharok might have a few stories of their own when it comes to weird Darkspawn and histories with the Wardens.  We did get the chance to work with that city with the War Table, so they could pop up again in a more concrete fashion.

Bringing it back to the Wardens, there have been plenty of dwarven Grey Wardens throughout Thedas' history that also might have very old stories as to what's going on.  Perhaps more about the Old Gods, and why there are ruins scattered around with a mix of both elven and dwarven styles in the Deep Roads.  I do think they are related, after paying close attention to Solas' behavior this time around.

4) Speaking of which, I think that Solas' story will be the final DLC, just like with Witch Hunt.  I suspect that, since the male GWs got to walk through the Eluvian with a romanced Morrigan, I have a feeling that something similar will happen with the Solas romance.  I also think that, just like with Morrigan, you'll get a chance to at least stab him or otherwise wound him for creating the whole mess.

I also think we'll see some of the Mythal/Solas situation resolved by the end.   KAnd possibly something that will create a more satisfactory sequel hook than the post credit ending.  I also think that this DLC will involve Morrigan somehow.  I'm starting to believe that her merging with Mythal (not Flemeth) is her fate that the writers have in store for Morrigan.

It'll be regardless of their choice about the Well or the OGB Kieran, or the romance status with the GW, or any of that.  There would be alternate dialogue to address those things, but it wouldn't change a huge amount of a potential story.   I think that Solas will want to let Mythal be reborn, and would welcome another of..."his people" in any incarnation to help achieve his goals for the elves.  We'll see how that works out.  <shrug>

I don't think Flemeth is going to take her over, nor do I think Morrigan would stop being herself.   This merging would be voluntary, to ensure that old magic and knowledge wasn't lost.  That is Morrigan's MO, after all.  While I think Mythal lives on through some sort of weird soul/body sharing thing with Solas at the moment, I believe that Flemeth as the players and characters knew her is dead.

How can there be a post game Solas DLC when Mythal/Flemeth so obviously killed him at the end of the game??

Spoiler

What you said there in your spoiler... that's what I initially believed as well. Flemeth's body collapsed glowing in a bright blue light and soon after you see the same effect in Solas' eyes.

That's really unfortunate. I was looking forward to one.

Nah, not excited. There is nothing these dlc's will hold that would make me replay the game. It is just so boring with the never ending mmo grinding and lame mages. Three cloned miniature mooks or bears, rinse and repeat.

I wouldn't expect too much from a possible Solas DLC.

Witch hunt was supposed to bring some "closure" and "answers" about Morrigan and all she did was speak more vague lines at you and jumped into a mirror.

Better than nothing, I thought at that time. Solas' fans would be pissed off if they hadn't what they expect.

I'm absolutely ok with more Solas if that's what he was hinting at. Waiting for another game to resolve that end sounds incredibly painful but we'll see. I'm not terribly patient, specially on cliffhanger endings like that.

The game's files hide the truth of that scene. Solas actually takes Mythal's soul from "Flemeth's" body(along with Kieran's Old God soul if Flemeth took it in your game), leaving her a husk and empowering himself.

The way they handled Kieran in DAI makes me think the OGB decision is mostly meaningless going forward. Mostly. If Solas/Flemeth/whateverthefuck absorbed it we'd get a few more lines like 'Wow super extra powerful!' but that's be it. I know the game files said something about Flemeth being willing to pass her power on to Solas IF she could send her divinity to Morrigan but Morrigan seemed so damn strident about not accepting **** from Flemythal that I wonder if even that's gonna be a thing.
