What was your main characters like in every DA game?

Mine was:

Origins
Lotrandar Mahariel (elf warrior)
Romance: Morrigan

My wardwn started off as a simpleminded dalish elf with a very black and white moral mindset. But gradually throughout the story he started to embrace his duties as a warden by looking at the bigger picture.

Because of this he made bhelen king. Bhelen seemed to have a stronger claim to the throne and a better vision for orzammars future. He also spared loghain because of his status as a ferelden hero, and because he had made a pact with anora. Anora and alistair ruled together and loghain died killing the archdemon.
He ended up reuniting with morrigan in the end and they had a human child together.

Dragon age 2
Jonathan Hawke (mage)
Romance: Anders

My Hawke was mainly focused on solving things peacefully. Even though he clearly felt compassion for the mages plight, he still tried to find a middleground in the conflict. His honest, diplomatic nature also made him earn the respect of the arishok.

All of his diplomatic work went up in smoke after his boyfriend anders blew up the chantry. Afterwards he killed anders mostly out of misplaced guilt and to stop him from killing more civilians in the future. He also ended up siding with the mages to stop meredith from killing every mage in the circle. As a result of this, hawke is in a pretty dark place in the end of the game. His only remaining family is gamlen and carver (who is off on grey warden business).

Dragon age inquisition
Hroldir Cadash (dwarf rogue)
Romance: Cassandra

My Cadash was basically an altruistic pragmatist. Being a former carta smuggler he preferred to talk his way out of trouble rather than resorting to unnecessary bloodshed. He also tended to spare traitors and former enemies in order to get information from them. This philosophy also made him sacrifice bulls chargers in order to secure the alliance with the quinari. He conscripted the mages and the grey wardens. He let Hawke stay in the fade, because he felt that the grey wardens needed a senior warden who could lead them in the right direction.

He also ended up supporting celene with briala as an ally. Mainly because he preferred celenes more diplomatic agenda to gaspards militaristic mindset.
He let morrigan drink from the well, mainly because he didnt wanna use magic that he knew nothing about.
He romanced cassandra who had become a mentor to him. The romance ended after she became divine. He still supported her decision because he believed that cassandra was the best candidate.

My Warden was pragmatically ruthless. Hawke was an aggressive bully to everyone but her teammates. Against my wishes, the Inquisitor is pretty much a saint.

Origins: Elven mage - Rywick Surana, slept with both ladies, but his heart belongs to a third he can never have. Aside from that, he's a pretty good guy, kills Conor's mother to save the boy, does a Win-win with the elves and werewolves, saves the ashes, destroys the slave-making anvil, marries his best friend off to his friend's brother's widow to effect a political alliance and executes her father so the future King of Ferelden can keep his hands clean.

DA:II Female Mage - Miri Hawke, controller mage, pretty darned aggressive, in a Rivalmance with Fenris, and loves her Warden brother despite everything. Kills the Arishok in single combat (running screaming like the girl she is until her spells cool-down enough to freeze him to death). Executes a fellow mage and friend for committing a terrorist act, but saves the mages from the lirium-infused madwoman and her crew.

Inquisition - Probably my female elf mage, Siobhan, in a doomed relationship, trying to restore a little peace and order to the world, never realizing until too late that she is a tool of the gods.

Can't say I have 'mains' but I do have favorites:

My Origins favorites:

Keldan Brosca- Male Dwarf Commoner Warrior- Andrastian convert (thanks to Leliana, seeing Brother Burkel providing refuge for Zerlinda, and the general goodness of it compared to that of the ruthless caste system of the dwarves, at least in his mind), Lawful Good, romanced Leliana, always went for the option that preserved the most lives (Connor lives, Alistair and Anora rule together, Dalish compromise, etc...) committed the Ultimate Sacrifice since he doesn't like the idea of any dark or forbidden rituals or magic. Has pale skin, red hair and blue eyes.

Tristan Amell- Male Human Mage- The polar opposite of Keldan, he is power hungry, ruthless, and enjoys the dark side. Romanced Morrigan and very happily went through with the dark ritual. Sacrificing Anora to blood magic, siding with the werewolves, taking bribes from demons, defiling the ashes, pretty much your archetypal 'evil sorcerer' (or antihero-villain). Is bald (naturally black hair), light skin and blue eyes.

Others-

Zell Tabris (Male City Elf)

Tinuwen Mahariel (Female Dalish Elf)

Fran Cousland (Female Human Noble)

Ulgar Aeducan (Male Dwarf Noble)

Arwen Surana (Female Elf Mage)

Charla Aeducan (Female Dwarf Noble)

My DA2 favorites:

Kieran Hawke- Aggressive Male Mage- Cousin to Tristan Amell (and uses Tristan Amell import)- he is heavily pro-mage, rude, crass, had high rivalry with nearly every character save for a romanced Anders. Obviously sided with the mages and would go on to continue his path after meeting with Caswyn Trevelyan. Has an olive complexion with black hair and brown eyes.

Catherine Hawke- Diplomatic Female Warrior- (uses Fran Cousland/Female Human Noble import)- she is kind, benevolent, Andrastian (but does not distrust mages and strongly dislikes Meredith's methods, as well as templars who abuse their station), pro-Circle, romanced Sebastian and would ultimately be forced to side with the Templars after seeing the destruction rebel mages (and Anders) were causing. She would live after meeting with Jade Adaar. Light skin complexion, brown hair and green eyes.

Others-

William (Zell Tabris import/Male Aggressive Dual Wield Rogue/Alive)

Dante (Tinuwen Mahariel import/Male Sarcastic Dual Wield Rogue/Dead)

Kaelynn (Ulgar Aeducan import/Female Aggressive Two Hand Warrior/Dead)

Demelza (Arwen Surana import/Female Sarcastic Mage/Dead)

Caleb (Keldan Brosca import/Male Diplomatic Warrior/Dead)

Connor (Charla Aeudcan import/Male Sarcastic Mage/Status Unknown/Not Imported)

My Inquisition Favorites:

Caswyn Trevelyan- Male Human Mage, (Tristan Amell/Kieran Hawke import). Unlike his predecessors he is far more heroic and less inclined to engage in the forbidden arts. Romanced Dorian (male human mages from nobility are tailor made for one another). As a Knight Enchanter he wears heavy armor and likes to take the fight up close (was nearly invincible by end game to the point where I scaled down his armor just for a challenge). Uses the mage options whenever he could when it came to judgments. Also believed in the Maker as an Andrastian, albeit a more liberal one similar to Leliana/Anders (and personally believes Andraste was a mage herself).

Gareth Lavellan- Male Elf Mage, (Zell Tabris/William Hawke import). He was my first character so I'll always have a soft spot for him, even though his build was absolutely horrible due to not fully getting or taking advantage of the game's mechanics. Focused primarily as a support/heal mage and specced in Necromancer. Was generally agreeable to everyone he met, preferring diplomacy and mercy whenever possible in his judgments. Once believed in the Dalish gods but now is more agnostic/unsure of what he believes after his experiences. Romanced Iron Bull.

Others-

Jade Adaar (Female Qunari Mage)

Arthyen Trevelyan (Male Human Archery Rogue)

Nika Cadash (Female Dwarf Dual Wield Rogue)

Gilda Cadash (Female Dwarf Two Hand Warrior)

Levana Lavellan Female Elf Weapon and Shield Warrior)

*-had to mention the others since to me ALL of my characters are canon to me, even if they wouldn't make much sense in one universe.

 It's in my sig. In a nutshell, Mahariel is a very pro-elvhen figurehead, and Inquisitor Lavellan is a son following in his footsteps.

Lady Hawke is the anti-hero Thedas deserves. She does not save worlds; she destroys them.

DA:O - Aerya Mahariel, female Dalish rogue, romances Leliana.

Been replaying my canon run as of late, so screens cause why not.

Spoiler

Basically good, but with an exceptionally short fuse and a tendency to stab things that bother her. Bit taciturn, but with a very dry sense of humour otherwise. But underneath that all she's clever, has a good heart, and is loyal and caring to anyone she's close to. Reason is only lost on her when she gets mad. Leliana mellowed her out a bit.

Generally went with the morally good choices; saved Connor by going to the Circle, made Zathrian break the curse, etc. Got a bit shady at times, though, like more or less taking advantage of her friendship with Alistair to make him do something he really doesn't want (the dark ritual) in order to save her own skin, and burning Amaranthine to the ground.

DA2 - Konner Hawke, male sarcastic mage, romances Isabela

Spoiler

Basically a complete jackass. Takes very little seriously. Is convinced he's the only sane person in Kirkwall. Would do a lot of shady things to get ahead. Some scrap of a moral compass buried in there somewhere, but not much. Loyal to his family, though.

Sided with the mages even if the whole conflict annoyed him more than anything else, and never did any of it with much conviction in anything. Started to fess up a bit and take responsibility for himself after Corypheus, however, and went on to sacrifice himself in the Fade.

DA:I - Lyna Lavellan, female Dalish Knight-Enchanter, romances Solas

Spoiler

Kind of a weirdo, hates shoes, likes flowers, bugs, weird potions...probably the most working moral compass of my canon characters though. Likes helping people, is friendly and outgoing, etc. Is fairly pro-Dalish, but sees her people's flaws, and was strangely much more comfortable among humans than my Warden initially was. Took to the herald role rather well, with some pushing.

Doesn't identify much with her 'fellow' mages, especially after seeing the lot at Redcliffe. Allied with the Templars. Allowed the Wardens to stay, as she grew up on stories of them after the Blight given one of her people was a famous one. Aided Briala, and reunited her with Celene. Let Morrigan drink from the Well, though she considered it. Helped Cassandra become Divine.

If I could've made Hawke an elf, I would've :P they're my race of preference as I always have them head cannoned. And mage, which worked out since they're a key class to the uprising. Doy...I find I pick sarcastic, snarky comments the most. Won all the proving battles? Get me a drink. I was so glad that was an option. And of course sarcastic Hawke is my fav character is any game I've ever played. Mage support, always...helping out everyone and their dog..always...and being best buds with all my companions...even Carver who tried to hate his sister's guts...

I'd say they're all diplomatic and none of them take things too seriously. Hero work is tough...you gotta take it all in stride and enjoy the bloodbaths ;)

Bellatrix Amell

Circle Mage

She was basically a bubbly goody two shoes with an ironic talent for hexes,jinxes and flame magic.She fell in love with Alistair and became his consort. Her best friends were Morrigan, who enlightened her about apostasy, Leliana who happened to be really fun to her and complimented her bubbly personality and Oghren who she thought was a jolly dwarf.

Braeden Hawke:

Apostate Mage

He was a lawful good character who had a slight dark side when it came to "justice". He felt it was his duty to right wrongs, even if it would end in blood shed. However, upon all his past, nothing could prepare him for the greatest act of justice he had taken part of when Anders destroyed the chantry. He knew mages needed their vengeance but what Anders did caught him off guard. In the end, he couldn't kill his lover. He begrudgingly left kirkwall with him, hoping to keep him out of trouble.

He was very close to Isabela and Varric who he enjoyed conversation with. He also had a slight crush on Isabela as well, but he would never let Anders know.

Kazmius Lavelan:

Nimble fighter (DW rogue)

Grew up in his clan and learned how to be agile and fast with a blade. He borders on the chaotic good side. He tries to do good things but in the end, ends up being a tad bit opportunistic and manipulative. His ascendance into the inquisitor gave him the "out" he wanted from his clan to experience the world outside the forest and plains they wandered. He still had love for his clan but considered the inquisition his new "clan". He became best friends with Vivienne, Dorian and Cassandra.

He's very flirtatious with both sexes (especially Cassandra) but ultimately prefers the exclusive company of men. He fell in love with Iron Bull. Who, at first, was just a casual fling for him that he thought would never get pass a one night stand but yet, ended up being a relationship he would cherish forever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next DA canon I've decided will be a Dwarf or Qunari female warrior. And yes, I plan out all my canons in advance. xDD
All of my PCs are diplomatic and love romancing Zevran (dumped for Alistair but stays around as best friend), Alistair, Anders, and Cullen (gave Cass and Dorian a try when I couldn't romance Cullen...Blackwall too but he's going to get dumped for Cullen). :lol:  All pro mage (except I did side with the templars once in DAI but that PC was still pro-mage otherwise).
Oh, and all my Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls characters have been humans. I guess I'm in a rut and like it.  :)
Here we go, I guess. :B
Origins: Leonora Cousland, current Queen of Fereldan (on holiday).
Leonora was blessed with a tactician's mind, and is your basic moral paragon of a hero, though she can be pretty ruthless in pursuing those she perceives as a threat to those she cares about (Darkspawn, Loghain, Howe, etc). Fiercely loyal, her gentle wit and genuine care for others has helped her in making many fast friends. Still, Leonora isn't above charm, playing dumb, or acting coy to either fly under the radar or persuade others to see things her way depending on the situation at hand, skills that she learned early in life due to her role as a nobleman's daughter. Though she could probably easily wrap Alistair around her little finger, she chooses instead to regularly defer to his judgment in court, and has proven to be almost desperately defensive of him if challengers should arise. She has become quite proud of the king he has become, now that he's actually become used to a life enthroned.
She wears her heart on her sleeve, absolutely adores a good laugh, and loves Fereldan - and it's king - more than anything. Physically, she is average height with (cliche) blonde hair kept in braids and blue-gray eyes, not to mention a warrior of great merit.
DA2: Allison Hawke, the (former) Champion of Kirkwall.
Due to her somewhat overly-sarcastic attitude (though she prefers charming, of course), Allison more often than not comes across as a bit off-putting to others, but she (nearly always) means well. Due to her protective love for Bethany, a childhood spent in fear of Templars tearing her family apart, and her idolization of her father, the Circle's plight struck a chord with her immediately, and over the years Allison did all that she could to aid Anders in making Kirkwall a better place for those gifted with magical talent, falling for him pretty easily in the process. Even still, Anders's actions at the Chantry keenly upset her and, though she left Kirkwall at his side, her trust in him was badly shaken. It was some time before she felt comfortable in their relationship again. These days, when not chasing after the odd Warden or two, she can typically be found warily watching over Anders, both for his sake and for that of those around him.
Ultimately, she is an overly sympathetic, and thus perhaps easily manipulated, but nevertheless intelligent woman who has learned to defend against the faults in her own nature with jokes and witty diatribes. Physically, she's a red-headed rogue with amber eyes.
Inquisition: Lethaya (heh) Lavellan, the Dalish Herald.
Lethaya is ever calm, collected. Though others sometimes judge her as distant or uncaring, she is quite the opposite. She cares deeply for everything she does, holds passionate ideals, and gives everything as much thought as she can. Reason is nearly as great a weapon for Lethaya as is her staff. She took the initial changes thrust upon her life in stride, seeing the Inquisition and those in it as a new clan looking to her for guidance. Her time as the Keeper's first embedded in her a love and thirst for knowledge, and she is open to what Elvhen history and stories might really mean as countless generations of oral history would likely be far less than reliable. Solas's disappearance cut her deeply, more than anything Lethaya has ever known, but most outside her inner circle would never know it. She still commands her people with confidence and authority, but behind closed doors her mind is slowly unraveling, a result of Solas's loss, the responsibility resting on her shoulders, and the voices of the well whispering in her mind.
Physically Lethaya is slight, like most women of the people, her height slightly above the elven-average and form lean from years of training with a staff. She bears her (cliche) white-blonde hair in braids atop her hair most days, and has lavender eyes with specks of brown near the center.
Basically, woo female paragon characters. It's all I can deal with apparently, I just... can't be mean to people. xD At least not in my canon playthroughs!
I had alot of fun with my noncanon characters to.
In origins i played as Waylon Amell, a male blood mage. He was pretty much a powerhungry, manipulative sociopath. He killed wynne after he corrupted andrastes ashes. Afterwards his girlfriend leliana dumped him. He spared loghain and let anora execute alistair. Afterwards he did the dark ritual. The worst thing he did was letting the desire demon possess connor in exhange for more power. His only redeemable quality was that he cared about poor people and orphans (mainly because he had been ripped from his own family to join the circle).
My favorite character moment was prolly in awakenings when i had to track down the traitor among the amaranthine nobles. My advisor presented me with the options, and i went with taking every nobles firstborn into custody. When my advisor told me that the noble familys would be furious, my warden basically responded "they will do as i say or i will destroy them". It was glorious. One of the few times ive enjoyed being evil in an rpg.
I also enjoyed my female inquisitor joanna trevelyan. Shes was basically a pro-circle andrastian fundamentalist mage. She used the rite of tranquility several times as a punishment. She was so full of herself being "andrastes herald" that she granted ser ruth forgiveness. Her only redeemable quality is that she sincerely believed that she was doing the makers work. Ronancing cullen as a mage was also pretty neat.
Origins: human male mage - Theon Amell, a rebellious blood mage (to come) who wanted to escape the tower with his bro Jowain and his girlfriend. Slept with both ladies, Ended up with Morrigan. He first kills Conor's mother to enter the fade and sold the boy´s soul for a blood magic spec, (later aquired enough coersion to just intimidate it and did the circle quest to let mom live). Drank the Avernus potion for extra life. Let him live and experiment. Saved both the elves and werewolves. Saved the ashes, saved the anvil. Hitched Alistair with Anora to be the king of Ferelden. Chopped Loghain´s head of with delight. Did the OGB ritual and followed Morrigan through the Eluvian.
DA:II male Mage - Theron Hawke, a rebellious blood mage, generally friendly and diplomatic to friends, sarcastic or agressive to enemies. Romanced Merrill, saved her mirror and clan. Brother joined the templars. Killed the Arishok in single combat ("running screaming like the girl until his spells cool-down enough to freeze him to death", this was funny enough to describe my mage too :lol: ). Saved Anders and let him join the group, all for mages! Defended the circle and finally butchered that mad woman.
Inquisition - male mage, nobody. Romanced cass, while grinding his teeth because her being the only option. Then strolled around doing stuff, cuz reasons. Vaguely remembers picking flowers and stuff. Oh yes, drank from the well because he is expendable (Morrigan needs to return to my Warden with the boy, unharmed). Then he killed the Corypheus. Stroud too bit the dust, Hawke had no intentions to die and went back to Merrill. Why the hell would he go to Weisshaupt?
Origins:
Eva Cousland - a noble rogue. Saved Redcliffe and Connor, made peace between werewolves and elves, saved the mages, crowned Bhelen as the king of Orzammar. Became the Queen of Ferelden by marrying her loved one, Alistair.
DA2:
Marianne Hawke - a sarcastic mage. Sided with the mages, battled the Arishok and did all sorts of cool stuff. Married Sebastian in a chaste marriage on friendship path (but after he took back Starkhaven, they banged like bunnies). Killed Anders, but not before he had helped Carver out of the Deep Roads and to the Grey Wardens.
Inquisition:
Nova Trevelyan - a former Circle mage who lost her twin brother, a templar, in the Conclave. Had respect for the Circle, but still thought there could be better ways for mages to co-exist with non-mages. Sided with the mages and used some of her (the Inquisition's) resources to do favors for King Alistair. Said bye-bye to Stroud. Managed to get all three "leaders" of Orlais to work together. Against her own (and practically everyone else's as well) expections, fell in love with an ex-templar Cullen.
Daenerys Amell:
-Human circle mage
- Romanced Alistair; got dumped after the Landsmeet
- Soft-spoken, polite, "diplomatic"
- Didn't recruit Zevran or Sten
- Was closest friends with Morrigan who she looked to as a "big sister" mage who mentored her. Morrigan's extreme views tainted her own though to the point that Daenerys found herself doing something she found to be immoral by letting Morrigan talk her into keeping the Anvil of the Void; resulting in Shale's destruction. By the end of Awakening she was a blood mage. lol
Melisandre Hawke
- Mage
- Romanced Fenris, got dumped, and then romanced Isabela
- Aggressive
- Was extremely pro-mage freedom to the point of siding with Varnell and Petrice out of disgust for qunari. She even spared and understood Anders because of her views. By aiding in the death of the qunari delegates and her support of Anders/the mages she was indirectly responsible for much of Kirkwall's chaos ironically; despite being known as "The Champion."
- Had rivalries with Aveline, Fenris, and Sebastian.
Sansa Trevelyan
- Mage
- Romanced Cullen, who after years of resenting his infatuation for the mage warden, found himself falling for yet another circle mage; this time one who reciprocated his feelings.
- Her personality was a mix of the three options. While not relishing in "the game" as some do, she was of noble blood, and even in the circle was molded into being well-versed in politics. She also tried to be forgiving, and when she gave a brutal punishment you knew she was pissed. Ex: Making Erimond tranquil. Because of this she also saved Blackwall from execution so he can earn redemption as a warden.
- She was friends with all companions largely because, like Varric, she wasn't vocal about her opinions. Even regarding mage freedom she only said she wanted the violence to stop. Inside though she believed in the circle; just questioned its restrictions.
Nelya Mahariel
A vengeful dalish ranger who hates shems at first, but then becomes Morrigan's soul sister and Alistair's lover. Connor was killed because blood magic is evil, Harrowmont rules Orzammar and she kept the anvil because victory at any cost.
At the landsmeet Alistair dumped her to become king, she refused the dark ritual because evil magic and her best friend left her for good, and then Alistair sacrificed himself to kill the Archdemon.
Valerie Hawke
Sarcastic mage and everybody's friend. Carver died in the deep roads. Didn't care about the whole mage business until Anders dragged her into it. She romanced him and later put him down. Sided with the mages.
Sulahna Lavellan
Knight Enchanter Arcane Warrior. Her people and her heritage are important to her. She didn't support the Herald bullshite, freed the mages, let Hawke die, kept the Wardens, let Briala play puppeteer and drank from the well. She romanced butthead who in turn took away her vallaslin, dumped and left her.
Sometimes I feel bad for my PCs, but oh well. I love drama. Only thing I regret is that Morrigan has no child.
Elisabeth Amell
A easy-going sarcastic goodie-two shoes mage, she has short black hair and intense grey eyes. She's always had a thing for Templars, and Alistair was an EX one so she naturally chose him. She was however very wanting him for herself and so she didn't harden him nor did she make him king. She however, changed after Awakening, from a happy-go-lucky friendly young woman to a slightly unhappy, confident, brave warrior (She was a Acrane Warrior AND Sprit Healer mix) however, Alistair brings her back to her former self, as he acts as her good sides, keeping her on her balanced.
Annabeth Hawke
A Sarcastic, diplomantic woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, she looked nothing like her cousin, Elisabeth. She romanced Sebsatian, and followed in the foot steps of her good natured cousin, she did everything to the best of her abilities. Hawke was a smart-a** sometimes, but she greatly believed in the Maker, making Sebsation her natural partner. Hawke did not survive the fade trip (I.WILL.NEVER.SARFICE.ALISTAIR, YOU HEAR ME?)
Eleanor Trevyallen
This woman has chocolate brown hair that sits firmly in a pony tail and green eyes. She is a Knight Enchantress, who romances Cullen. Eleanor is deeply compassionate and kind woman, who allied herself with the Mages because she felt horrible for Fiona, who foolishly allied themselves with Tevinter. Eleanor is a very funny and sweet woman, who loves to help people and gives her best to judge people who wrongs others. She dislikes Vivenne's cold attuide but tries to be at least nice to her. Her best friend is Cassandra, who she thinks is awesome. Eleanor believes in the Maker, but is kind of light on her belief.
Round 2 (Canon World State 2)
Angelina Cousland
Angelina is a Templar/Champion class warrior, she is a very diplomantic and good-hearted person who tries to do what Couslands do best, make people's life easier. She romanced Alistair before marrying him. But she is also fiercely independent and very smart. She is also very charismatic whenever Alistair needs her to be. She strongly believes in the Maker (Which is why she's a Templar) and can be very funny whenever the mood hits her. She has long chocolate brown straight hair and brown eyes.
Starylnn Hawke
Hawke is a black haired, brown eyed mage who romanced Fenris. She rivalmanced him, she supported the Mages and was good. She survived her encounter with Lavellan. She was Aggressive.
Arianna Lavellen
Arianna Is a blonde haired, grey eyed Mage. She was a deeply curious and funny person. She romanced Solas, and naturally supported the Mages. Arianna was a friendly and mild-mannered Dalish Mage who didn't mind the company of Shemlen. She had no quarrel with them or anyone else. She hated Sera who kept on hating on the Dalish, by the end of the game, Arianna was tempted to slap Sera and tell her to shut up. She also didn't like Vivenne, she hated her with a passion. Arianna's judgement on people were usually the punshiments she felt they massively deserved but also she did do some funny judgements that lighted the mood.
Other (not my main canons)
Prince Cousland (Leliana Romance)
Jackson Hawke (Merril Romance)
Ysabela Hawke (Fenris Romance)
Adam Hawke (Isabela Romance)
Charlotte Surana (Zevran Romance)
Lilian Broska (Leliana Romance)
Thomson Trevyallen (Dorian Romance)
Jeanette Trevyallen (Blackwall Romance)
Lucas Trevyallen (Cassandra Romance)
Danica Lavallen (Sera Romance)
Julya Cadash (Iron Bull romance)
Aidan Lavallen (Josphine Romane)
My Warden was an Amell who went from a soft spoken, shy and gentle girl to a hardened fighter who solved 99% of her problems by running over them.
The truth of her personality lies in her specs: she's a ruthless arcane warrior, a steely battlemage... But at the heart of it all is the quiet girl who found a spirit of hope and embraced it, becoming a spirit healer. Amell will push Ferelden into a more accepting society, and she will destroy anyone who tries to gainsay her.
Amell is currently on a quest to find a cure for the taint, taking leave of her position of Chancellor to her King and lover, Alistair.
Her cousin, Hawke, is on the surface everything Amell is not- tall, curvy, conventionally beautiful and graceful in movement. However, they share rather foul mouths, a true gift for magic, and a deep love for their friends.
While Amell is driven by duty, Hawke cares more for simpler ties; she loves her home, her friends, her family. At the end of the day, she'd rather get blasted at the Hanged Man with Varric, her bemused best friend Aveline sighing and her love Sebastian getting ready to walk her home.
Hawke is a beacon of freedom in Kirkwall, and will shrug off her natural laziness if pushed to fight. Eventually, she sided with the mages. She was forced to put down Anders, judging him to be rabid as a mad dog, and fled the Kirkwall with Sebastian.
My Inquisitor, a curious dalish girl, is the third mage. Sweet as sugar when she's allowed to be, she accepts her role and destiny with fervour- she has always searched for a meaning in life, and if the Inquisition will have her, she will lead the way.
Amell led with strength, Hawke with charm, and Lavallen with purity of will. Nothing matters so much as saving everyone that she can, but her good nature is bolstered by the political challenges, rather than destroyed like Amell's. She's as capable of shrewd political tactics, thanks to many, many lessons at Josephine's feet, and she's a talented mage besides, but her greatest strength is simply her belief that one person can change the world.
After the death of Corypheus, and a few discrete letters from Amell after news that the Inquisition had sided with the mages and taken in the Wardens, Lavallen and her friends, her lover Cullen, and her loyal forces, prepare to batten down the hatches in light of what the Dragon Age will throw up next.
Lochlyn Aeducan - male dwarf noble sword and shield warrior
Lochlyn was a duty-oriented, solemn, stoic 'good guy'.  He wasn't interested in the political game in Orzammar, which made his easy prey for Bhelen.  He chose to sleep with a noble hunter in order to secure an heir, but then romanced Zevran.  He selected the "good options" for each of the quests, put Alistair and Anora on the throne together, but had Alistair sleep with Morrigan for the ritual.
Garrett Hawke - male human support spec'd mage
Garrett was a sarcastic man-child who did his damn-dest to stay out of the political issues in Kirkwall.  Although an apostate who supported the mages against the templars, he was also incredibly anti-blood magic.  He romanced Anders, but banished him from the group after his act of terrorism.
Talan Adaar - male qunari two-handed warrior
Talan was a 'knight in shining armor' type, through and through.  He was raised in a human settlement in the Marches and viewed himself as an outcast to both the Tal-Vashoth (despite running a primarily Tal-Vashoth merc company) and the Marcher culture.  He took the opportunity to run the Inquisition as his way of finally getting the acceptance that he craved and strove to use the Inquisition as a force for 'order and good' in Thedas.  He romanced Dorian.
Origins - Adorable elf mage - romanced Alistair, who became king and I didn't have the heart to break him, so he dumped me.
I have not completed DA2, but so far my Hawke is a mage with her eyes on Fenris.
Inquisition - I have lost way too many hours of my life to this one. First I was a necro mage who romanced the super sad face beardy one. Then I knew the Solas romance was a heart-puncher and I'm a glutton for pain, so I did an archer elf. Now, on my third pt, I'm a knight enchanter mage pursuing Cullen.
I am one against the grain here because out of all the romances, I LOVE Blackwall the best. Beards. They just do it for me.
Origins
Warden: Devathari Surana
Romance: Leliana
Dev was a mage who was all for mage freedom a spirit healer and arcane warrior, she fought her way through the Fifth Blight, eventually finding love with Leliana, along the way she became close to her new allies seeing them as the family she never had, Helping the Dalish and Werewolves find peace, Stopping Branka, and saving her fellow mages meant a lot to Devathari and nothing stopped, at the Landsmeet she made Alistair and Anora marry while Loghain joined the Wardens, She had Loghain do the Dark ritual to save everyone the horrors of the Archdemon.
Dragon Age 2
Corey Hawke
Romance: Anders
Hawke as an apostate was never in favor of the circle system in the first place but after going to Kirkwall and seeing the horrible conditions of the Gallows he made it his mission to protect the mages of Kirkwall from that very fate. After meeting Anders, Hawke Was genuinely interested which culminated in the years to follow. Hawke was a diplomatic person despite his views on mages. He was friends with all of his associates in Kirkwall and was able to connect with his brother during their stay in the city, and even after he became a grey warden. Hawke killed the Arishok to protect Isabella from the wrath of the Qunari, as he seen her as a true friend. In the end though Hawke fought on the side of the mages while also allowing Anders to live and the two of them disappearing never to be seen again until Inquisition.
Inquisition
Inquisitor: Revan Addar
Romance: Dorian
Revan was a Rift Mage who fought to protect others at all costs, he met Dorian when he decided to ally with the mages and was instantly happy to see wit and sarcasm instead of gloom and doom like most of his Inner Circle. He refused to be called the Herald of Andraste as he did not believe in the Maker and didn't want what he saw as a Human title. Along the way Revan recruited who he could to the cause, Alexius, Florianne, Servius, Samson, all came to serve the Inquisition in one way or the other. He Made peace between the warring Orlais and was able to get Celene, Gaspard, and Briala to cooperate with each other. He save Hawke and left Loghain in the fade though it hurt him to do so there could always be another Loghain there'd never be another Hawke. He allied with the wardens and Hawke left for Weisshaupt. He helped all his Inner Circle with their personal problems to strengthen the bond of the Inquisition to them. The Inquisitor drank from the well as he did not fully trust Morrigan plus he said she had a child to rationalize it. In the end Revan Addar was a light standing alongside his allies in the darkness.
Origins:
Warden: Daylen Amell
Romance: Morrigan
Daylen would be considered a morally grey character when it came to making the harder decisions. He agreed, for the most part, with Morrigan on a lot of things thus having a deeper connection to her. He did what he thought was the best for himself and the rest of Ferelden. Though, deferring in ideals with Alistair and Wynn he still was able to form a good relationship with both. Despite his clashes with Leliana he kept her around for her obvious skills in battle despite thinking she was a little bit of a loon. Siding with the mages at the Circle, keeping the Anvil for further use against the Blight, and helping the Dalish come to terms with the werewolves leaving both factions in peace. At the end of it all, he allowed Anora to reign as queen all on her own feeling she would be the best person for the job to keep a sense of peace within the region. Alistair returning to a place where he could do a lot more for the country, and against the beasts that still threaten the every day lives of thousands. Daylen and Morrigan came together to do the Dark Ritual leaving both Wardens to survive the last fight against the archdemon thusly ending the Blight on top of that tower. When Morrigan left the Warden-Commander set forth to find her, and when he did they both stepped through the Eluvian so they could live in relative peace. For the time being.
DAII
TBA
DA:I
Inquisitor: Ruvik Trevelyan
Romance: Dorian
Ruvik was a rogue of high class within the Free Marches where he was both born and raised. Being the second child and second son to the Trevelyan house he was granted far more liberties than that of his older brother. Going to the conclave was a way for him to be at the pinnacle of the war between the templars and mages, despite being neither. When he came into the room after hearing pleas of help his life would, from that point onward, change almost immediately. Thrust into a position of power he found solace within the small band of people he was able to rally to his side. When it came to the decision to choose between the Mages and Templars he was left with a harsh reality. Siding with the mages seemed to be the best option, and during that he met the man who would change much of his views of the world. The man didn't see him as the Herald of Andraste, a name thrust upon him without his consent, and was able to see him through such a title that had so much weight. As time passed he was able to settle the conflict within Orlai by helping Celene and Briala reconcile the damage between the two of them thus sealing a strong alliance between the nation and the Inquisition. Before that decision, he was left to make a decision with the Grey Wardens who had been used by the former magister Corypheous. Leaving behind Hawke in favor of Alistair and allowing the Grey Wardens to work with the Inquisition was a decision he did not take on lightly, but it was something he had to choose despite what most others would have thought. With those events behind him he can focus further on the creature who started it all. He was on the run, and Ruvik was not going to sit idly while his enemy was within his grasp and much weaker than he has been since the start of it all.
Origins
Warden: Yura Mahariel - Dalish Rogue
Romanced: Alistair
Unlike most Dalish she doesn't have this undying hatred for humans, despite her father perishing at the hand of "shem scum", she is wary of them and will happily bring up examples of racism towards her people if need be. She wasn't happy about being conscripted into the Grey Wardens or leaving without finding Tamlen but the Keeper urged her to go so she'd live and begrudgingly left her family and friends behind.
I'd like to think most Dalish don't have too much a problem with blood magic so with the choice of Connor or Isolde, Yura chose sacrifice. Killing a child just wasn't something that sat right, even considering he was an Abomination. She supported Harrowmont simply because he seemed the least bit ax-crazy to her but she couldn't care less if the entire city destroyed itself, just after they helped stop the Blight.
After happily beheading Loghain, Yura appointed Anora on the throne alone because, honestly, she was selfish and didn't want Alistair to leave her side but she would only admit Alistair didn't seem "fit to be King". Now she travels searching to cure the Calling because if she can find another way to cheat death, you can bet she'll find a way if it exists.
DA2
Reina Hawke - Sarcastic!Rogue
Romanced: Anders (was supposed to be Fenris buuut--)
Quite possibly my favorite DA main character besides my Warden. Her sarcasm and witty remarks just made everything so worth playing. Extremely family oriented, Bethany and Reina have a very close relationship and though Leandra isn't always happy with Reina's choices, they still got along. Reina hated just about anything political and just wanted to live soundly with her family.
Worried about Bethany's safety she left her behind during the Deep Roads expedition but returning home to see her sister in Circle robes and templars in her home wasn't the welcome she wanted. She wanted to put up a fight and almost did were it not for Bethany's pleading; it devastated her to lose another sibling, someone else she couldn't protect.
Leandra's death hit Reina seriously hard and if it weren't for Anders and Varric (the two she felt closest two by then), she'd had broken down and given up on life or just shift drastically in attitude. Not wanting to seem weak to anyone else, she keeps up her snarky front to hide the slowly crumbling Champion inside.
Siding with the mages was the only obvious choice to Reina and also to ****** of Meredith who she quite honestly got a bad vibe from. Despite feeling betrayed and furious with Anders' irrational terrorist attack, Reina allowed him to stay in the group because she didn't want to lose anyone else close to her. She wanted him to fight with her, to see the mess he created and afterwards they fled together.
Inquisition
Inquisitor: Artemis Lavellan - Dalish Hunter (Rogue Assassin)
Romanced: Cullen
Raised in the Dalish culture Artemis believes solely in the Creators, though if you ask her she isn't very religious and bordering alatrism. Thus being called the Herald of Andraste irritates her especially when they ignore her refusal of the title. Eventually she gives up on deterring their beliefs and lets them call her what they want, make up whatever stories they'd like; she's just here to save the damn world. Similar to my Warden, Artemis doesn't hate humans and on the surface is quite indifferent to them; she'll take the opportunity to educate them, however and disprove any false information she hears.
Her driving force to help the Inquisition was at first to clear her name and close the first Breach but after the attack on Haven, it became a little more personal. Empress Celene reclaimed her throne and Artemis prayed to never take part in the Game for as long as she lived but knew it would be too much to ask. Hawke stayed behind in the Fade so Alistair can return and lead the remaining Grey Wardens back to Weisshaupt. Artemis, taking pity on the misguided fools, chose to allow the Wardens to stay in Orlais.
Truly she just wanted to save Thedas from whatever threat and return home to her clan but along the line she grew to depend on her companions, some she would even call her closest of friends. After the doom upon the world was finally thwarted she opted to stay with the Inquisition, to further restabilize Thedas and continue wacky adventures with the crazy bunch of misfits she surrounded herself with.
These were all my first playthroughs and probably my canons unless I change my mind. It's really no secret I'm Elf and Rogue biased and a little thankful DA2 forces you to pick a human, otherwise all 3 games I'd have been a Dalish dual wielding rogue :')
I've had quite a few characters in DA:O, and expect I'll have several more in DA:I, but these are the canon characters. That status for DA:O and DA II is completely locked in, but for DA:I it won't be certain until whenever the next game comes out.
Dragon Age: Origins: Cyrion Zemariel Tabris, male city elf rogue (sword and dagger, Assassin/Duelist/Legionnaire Scout), romanced Zevran.
Spoiler
Zemariel was a generally optimistic sort, despite his upbringing in the Alienage. He tried to get along with everybody, see the good in everybody, and work to make the world a better place. However, this often ended up going wrong, since he was also a bit of a screw-up at times; he didn't always look hard enough for solutions, and tended to make spur-of-the-moment decisions that seemed like great ones at the time (but maybe really weren't). His usual party consisted of Zevran, Alistair, and Wynne, but he also got along very well with... well, everyone except for Oghren. He just didn't like Oghren. He took his job as Warden-Commander seriously, although he had no idea at all of what to do with a keep or what to do about politics, so he muddled through as best as he could. He became a bit more jaded by the end, having realised that he screwed up in several ways, but wasn't much deterred. He very much wanted to figure out a way to stop the Calling, so what he was up to in Inquisition made good sense. By the end of Awakening and all of the DLCs, he just wants to take a break. Maybe a vacation. Would be upset to learn that Anders, Justice, and Alistair are all dead now, and none too happy with Thanatos because of this.
Key Decisions: Had Isolde sacrificed to save Connor, saved the mages, ended the curse, sided with Bhelen and destroyed the Anvil, let Alistair kill Loghain, put Anora on the throne, did the dark ritual, let Avernus keep exerimenting (with a likely-useless admonishment to do so ethically), let Amaranthine burn, spared the Architect.
Dragon Age II: Thanatos Hawke, male warrior (sword and shield, Reaver/Templar); romanced Fenris (friendship).
Spoiler
Thanatos developed a worse and worse attitude towards life in general and Kirkwall in particular as the game went on, but he was generally a no-nonsense sort of guy. He did not get on well with people, disliked the entire situation he was put in, and -- although he made some initial efforts to aid certain mages -- sided with the Templars with few reservations (Bethany, after all, had been dead for some time at that point). His typical party consisted of Fenris, Aveline, and Varric, and they were really the only people he could stand to bring much of anywhere. He had little patience for anyone he didn't consider a friend, and those were rather rare. He had no desire to stay in Kirkwall a moment longer than he had to, since he'd never been fond of the place and all of his reasons for sticking around dried up. He certainly did not want to be Viscount of anything, much less Kirkwall. Has issues with blood magic, and is in fact distrustful of mages in general (although not always outright hostile). Has nothing against the Grey Wardens in fact. Would be rather dubious of the state Tegwen has left the world in, but respected her well enough in the brief time he met her.
Key Decisions: Took Bethany to the Deep Roads (without Anders), sided with the Templars, killed Anders.
Dragon Age: Inquisition: Tegwen Lavellan, female elven warrior (two-handed sword, no specialisation); romanced Josephine.
Spoiler
Tegwen worked very hard to better the lot of elves wherever she could, but really felt that something more major was needed. She has great plans to eventually use the Inquisition for this. On the other hand, over the course of her adventures, she came to actually like a good many humans, so she mellowed out quite a bit from her initial state. She was also a hopeless romantic, picturing herself a great knight out of some legend. She may have been mildly delusional as well. She mostly leaves the running of the Inquisition up to her advisors. While she and Zemariel would agree on some basic points, Zemariel wants to work within the system to improve the lot of elves, and she doesn't think there's much point to trying that. She wasn't particularly fond of Thanatos from their brief meeting, but she likes Varric, so she would not outright mention that.
Key Decisions: Sided with mages, put Brialla behind the throne (with Gaspard as figurehead), left Alistair behind in the Fade (technically not her decision, since I metagamed that one on the basis that Thanatos never would've volunteered to stay behind), drank from the Well herself, supported Leliana as Divine (and Leliana became Divine).
