Funny you should mention that because I've got the hard copy sat on my desk right now and the DDE currently DLing and last I recall this forum doesn't require the game registered to talk about it. That section is reserved for spoilers. One other thing to point out... the title of this forum is Mass Effect, not just Mass Effect 2.

If you can't handle a simple debate I suggest you stay off the boards until you've grown intelligence to actually come back with something other than that statement.

Sorry Ulrich, but Stinger's right.  I've read a lot of your posts and you just love to argue just for the sake of it.   The fact that you've been yapping about things you haven't even experienced just disqualifies you even more.

stop trolling.

I just want to add, that I would also like to have the option to toogle helemts on and off any time I want. The reasons have been stated before. It's okay when you're in a fight, but it's suptid during dialog.

I got the Blood Dragon, Collectors and Inferno armor, all three are completely useless to me now and I would have never bothered if i knew I couldn't take the helmet off. I really don't understand this decision at all.. its a big step back from ME1 where they had that simple option. I really hope they fix this with a patch, I pretty much feel cheated. Wish i could at least hang the armor in my cabin, put it to some use. ^ ^

Yup, it's pretty crazy how people recognize you by your "appearance" even though your face is completely covered.

I was about to say that.  When Garrus went, "Shepard?  Is that you."  First thing that came to mind is how did he know it was me...?

I am in full support of this.  It looks rediculous that he's having a convo. with his helmet on.

this thread needs to be bumbed ad-nauseum until this gets addressed.

*shivers* This kind of thing reminds me of the horror of using modded armor in DAO that isn't always fully compatible with cutscenes. The Black Templar armor (including the helmet) has a tendency not to come off properly during 'minor' cutscenes. Poor Alistair was crushed in the throes of passion during the sex scene by my 100 pound platemail armor. RIP Alistair.

Remembering that I don't deem it worth it wearing a helmet at all in ME2. At most I'll use one of those eye-screen-things.

The thing is, you think it's funny but to me it's just bad programming and a flaw in the game design.  Quite an embarassment to the programming team if you ask me.  Especially to a game studio who's forte is immersive plots, storytelling, and creating detailed fictional universes.

It may seem trivial to some people, but this one simple issue has the potential to be a very black eye on the companys reputation for making superior standard quality products- especially it they let it slide and don't address it.
Let me put this into a another example: If Blizzard releases Starcraft 2 and there was a unit that was imbalanced... would they let it slide?  Would you say:  "Oh that's ok, that's how they wanted it to be."  No,  because that companys reputation is excellent balanced RTS's.

Some like the helmet during the scenes. Others don't. Thats the point of having a feature to set this.

This is unacceptable, in ME1 you could flip the helmet toggle on/off at any time, in ME2 you need to head back to the Normandy to do so.

This is an RPG, a story, an epic tale that the player gets involved with, we dive deep into the story, we become the main character, we live and die on immersion with a game like this. Every time I see a cut scene and my helm is covering my face I just sigh.

I am so disappointed on ME2 on several levels, this is one of them. I paid good money for the CE and now I cannot even wear the armor because of its cringe inducing visual effect.

This is the way I see it:

The Inferno armor has a clear visor. So yeah...it looks silly drinking, but at least you can still maybe see Shepard's face and other characters can see you.

The Collector armor being one piece makes sense. I wouldn't wear that thing around people anyway.

The Blood Dragon Armor and Terminus armor seem like something that should come with the helmet coming off.

Overall, it's a disappointing misstep, but I'd rather BioWare make sure future new armor works better than worry about trying to fix these.

It seems we're stuck with unwanted mood killing game armor and judging by the statements from BW they either can't or won't fix it with a patch. If that's the cause, besides issuing a patch how else BW could try to smooth things over with us. Another suit of armor that can be fully tailored in the game (removable helmet and all) and free for download?

I'm just throwing in my lot to say it would be nice to have the Dragon age system in place ,where your helmet auto disappears during conversations.

If Bioware were to implement such a system, it better be optional. I like having my character's face hidden.

honestly put me down on the list of people who would have not bought the DDE if they had known the armor was like this

I find it interesting that all the videos they released show Shepherd's face during cutscenes

This is the crazy part. The first Mass Effect already had this option. You could at anytime toggle your helmet on or off. Why remove a feature that worked for everyone?

It is crazy they got rid of the toggle. Its not like they'd have to add in a whole inventory slot for it. They could put it in options or something.

I still agree that the Bioware response was too much of a blow off - this was a silly thing to put in the game considering how important conversation and characters are in this game. I had to laugh when Tali recognized me despite the fact that I was wearing Collector armor - she should have shot me. To me, the preorder armor is only useful for NG+, which is rather strange, to say the least.

Pestering them about something they did is not the same as telling them about a bug in the game. They cannot fix it without remaking the armor, it's built as a set so it has the unique complete look it does. If you don't like it don't use it but otherwise there's nothing you can do. They've heard the complaint and will most likely correct for ME3, all you can do is wait.

Well that's the most frustrating thing! You don't spend all that extra bucks for a CE just to find out that the armor is no good for you just cuz of some design flaw... If I even knew it would be like this I never would've ordered the CE. So yeah I think we're in a pretty valid position to pester here.

What I really don't understand is why BW lost the opportunity to get the story better. In the beginning you meet a former partymember, who immediatly recognised you even when you were wearing the Dragon Armor.
What about a storyclip where she's very hostile to you until you take of your helmet and she recognises you?
