If they don't fix the issue, you can sure bet that their collector's edition and digital copy units sales will be down for Mass Effect 3. Some people bought the ME2 specials particularily for the special armor content. They feel ripped off because they can't wear it in game without ruining the experience.
I agree with them fully- I'd be pissed too. That's why Bioware must address this issue, and I will not let them off the hook for it.

I probably would not have purchased the DDE if i had known the helmets were fixed.
Even with the N7 Cerebrus armor, not having a helmet toggle on and off like in ME1 is pretty annoying.

I don't understand why it was removed. Hell not sure why they removed equipping your squad as well.

Even outside of the collectors edition armor the helmet is a concern. Albeit a very small concern in comparison to how excellent and polished the rest of the game is. Maybe all of the polish the rest of the game has is a reason that people are being so vocal about this. You see such a well made game with an engaging story and such a high amount of polish. Then you order a drink and you pour it all over your helmet. Or the jarring dialog with someone that somehow recognized you in a crowd with a helmet on. It really sticks out from the rest of polished game.
Then there is the concern with wanting to min/max you character. Do you sacrifice the dialog cut scenes in favor of maximizing your characters stats? If BioWare wants to maintain that the collectors armor is done that way to maintain the artistic direction, I can get behind that 100%. The artists obviously put a lot of effort in to these armors. But the option already exists for the N7 armor and the option was there in ME1. I think most people aren't expecting BioWare to come swooping in all apologetic and promising a patch within the hour. I am still enjoying the game immensely but this is a feature a lot of people would like to see put back into the game.

I would totally toggle the helmet on during exploring and combat.. but during cutscenes and interacting with NPCS i would have it off.

No point in equipping your squad. You only change your own equipment to facilitate your particular manner of play.. shields over power. Health over sprint. Whatever. There's no armor bonus inherent in the different armors.
Since the squad is pretty much all AI, there's no point in letting you change their armor.
Oh.. you wanted Jacob to tank? Not in this game.

I have found it really nice that at least your voice changes when you wear helmets. But I do not wear them, because I want to see my Shepard.

Please add a option to remove the helmet on all the armors.

The funny thing is I was playing the game last night, just started, and I came across a character who tapped his visor to remove it.
This would a great workaround for keeping the artistic unity of the armors.
Though, as an artist, I don't completely buy that because they are sacrificing the art of their updated facial emotes. The Collectors Armor is really nice looking [from the pics, I just have the Inferno], and probably the only exception here but even then, they have made the armors unique enough to appreciate without helmets.
What's the point in creating a personal Shepard that you can't see during a lot of conversations?
The updated graphics are great and I saw my Shepard REALLY smile in one conversation!
Other conversations feel empty with the helmets even with the cool sound effects of it being worn.
I wouldn't have been as upset if the [Inferno] visor was clear enough to see my Shepard but it isn't. You can see into it at times, but barely and other times it's completely opaque.
Is there a petition going? I will sign it..
The changes made to the game compared to ME1 are bold but I have been enjoying my experience . It's been fun and it's very pretty but for the same reason Roddenbury made his aliens humanoid, I would very much love to see my character's eyes and mouth.
I'm shocked to hear they didn't see this coming.
Sorry for the odd formatting to my lines in this post, too, that was also unanticipated

Alright, I really hope they put out at update for this cause it is ridiculous. Its retarded that I can't change my equipment at any time, big frustration of mine with this game. Its much worse that I can't take off the damn helmet whenever I want!
What is with these restrictions? Why not just assign the L3 button on the Squad menu to put on or take off the helmet?
This oversight is painful, and I will not be using any head gear... even the visors annoy me during conversation.
Fix this Bioware!!! Please!

I bet you they didn't QA the DLC armors. any QA tester would have seen that the DLC armors don't interact with the conversation mechanics properly... or drinking... or kissing...
... Just rediculous scenes which are so embarassing coming from a company part of whose repulation is founded on superior quality games built on detailed immersive environments.

Doubtful. Otherwise the standard N7 helmet would disappear during conversations. It doesn't.

I'm still waiting for my CE but since i read all this here... i'm quite disappointed. Beeing able to wear these cool armors without the helmet was something i was really looking forward to. So i guess i'll stick with "normal" N7 and no helmet/visor-stuff hiding the face i put so much time into.
Please Bioware, this is not right, fix that one thing!

Well I can probably make a quick 20 bucks selling both Terminus and Collectors as a package on Ebay. I'm still holding out that BioWare addresses this issue.
Question did any of the developers say that you can't remove the helmets of the DLC armors?

Something simple like opening the visor or whatever would be nice, just to see the face. It could be an option in Settings so we could do so if we so pleased.
Regular helmets and the various headgear have bonuses, so there is a purpose to the having helmets on, but it's clearly not worth it for many.

Frankly, I liked the way they did it for Mass Effect 1, where the mouth was visible in environments with atmosphere, but fully enclosed in space. I don't know why they changed that.

I know what you mean, the Terminus armor is impressive but not to beable to see your characters face bits major "Element 0"

Darkly Dexter wrote...
I just opted out of using the pre order armor because of this, which sucks, but I rather see my characters face.
I just did the same thing. Frustrating. Even though I like teh Collector's Edition for the rest of the stuff, I got it for the Collector's armor, which increases defenses. But I would rather see Shepard during the conversations.

Agreed, having the helmet on during conversations is ridiculous. The ME1 toggle system was far better.
