I completely agree that they need to hide the helmet during conversation. It is so annoying to be unable to use a helmet if you want conversation like I do (i.e. without helmets).
Hide Helmet During Conversation?

I can agree with the majority about this issue as well. Granted that designing the DLC armors as single-pieces accommodates the art style best, but in my opinion, pitting that against how much it breaks conversations, it loses completely.
Quite frankly, the terminus armor has a pretty low-res skin anyway, which completely put me off from using it. I hope that Bioware does some major improvements on a lot of the textures in ME3. If I was skilled enough, I would probably spend time making various texmods that improved the resolution of certain character skins, but unfortunately I'm not that skilled yet; plus the Steam version doesn't even work with Texmod. D:
Getting back on topic, it does seem like a blatant design oversight which would be great if they rectified, but I'm not suggesting they redesign the DLC armors to have separate helmets. However, for the N7 armor, I honestly don't see the problem with adding in the ability to toggle helmets for the N7 armor at any time, like in the first game. They could easily put that in the Squad menu where you upgrade your skills.

I have other complaints about the game, however this helmet thing is what breaks immersion for me most in that I can't EVER TAKE IT OFF. I can get past the other issues more, but I am unable to use my DA armor, even though it looks incredibly awsome, because I never remove the damn helmet, which makes me feel like a faceless mook.

I can understand that there may be technical limitations on hiding the helmets for the DLC armor, but would it be difficult to just release, as a download, a version with no helmet at all? Like, if you registered your code, you can just snag it from Cerberus.

Going to bump this up.
Also please don't lock this one. This thread isn't petition, its more of a suggestion & discussion thread where people are trying to show that adding this option would improve on a already great game.

I continue to use the BD armor and I continue to be unhappy with every single conversation. They had plans for the BD armor way back in DA:O so this should not have been a last minute oversight. Very very annoying.

Agreed,
I love the collector armor but I just don't have the attachment to my character that I had in ME1. One of the biggest parts of this game is conversation and all of the painstaking effort they put into realistic facial expressions and emotions. I simply can't believe that they overlooked this. I wish they could patch it. . . .

Well, I shall add my voice to this. I pre-ordered the DDE so the only special armor I didn't get was the Terminus armor. Of the like 3-4 sets of extra special DLC armor I got, I refused... REFUSED to wear any of them, because you can't remove the helmets. It completely ruins immersion. I like to see how my character reacts.
Its such a waste for all the armor not to be used, but I'm not touching it until it gets updated to at least be like Dragon Age's helmets. Those disappear for cutscenes. I can't see why these can't be modified to do the same as well.

Yes please - a toggle feature is needed for the helmets. Bioware - you spent all that time on facial animations for the cutscenes, and now we don't get chance to see all that awsome work.
Please, for Shepard's sake, let us remove the helmet!!

Any new word on this design flaw or is it something too far beyond Biowares skill set to fix? Seriously though, patch this. We are all loyal fans of this company because of the quality and customer service you have shown, please don't enter into a new era and forget why you are such a popular developer. You have 19 pages of complaint here, along with multiple other threads, as well as many more who have not posted. Please do not ignore this, we are not dumb, and we know it can be fixed, if you really wanted to. Thanks for reading if you do.
