I find this thread quite funny actually, i remember there being threads of the exact opposite on the dragonage forums, people where angry that their helmets did go away during dialogue and cutscenes
Thats because the main character didn't talk.....

I was shocked to see the previous thread concerning this topic get locked down for "personal attacks". I read the entire thread from first to last post and saw that everyone was being both civil and mature. I think it was done to try and quell dissent.
Staying on topic, I really wish I hadn't pre-ordered the CE to get the armors, because now I don't even use them. The Terminus armor is great, but having it (and the other 2) block out my face ruins the immersion factor.
Without seeing my character's eyes, facial expressions and emotive responses I can't enjoy the dialog.
...and that's half the game right there.

...granted, the mentions of people recognizing you in the armor (which you never could have worn in ME1)while you are wearing the helmet are kind of annoying. The overall effect is still cool, though.

Same here I admit it got testy in the first thread but everyone got the message and toned down. I think they patch it BW is good with their fans.

Any mod or dev response on this would be great.

Be sure to not give him a helmet then even on the N7 armor it sticks with what ever choice you give him for that mission. So your stuck with the visor or nothing IIRC.
This seems like the largest issue to me. The at-will toggle should never have been removed. They did right by letting us choose the design of the helmets and the option to wear the face mask outside of environmental hazards, but they went one step too far by restricting when you can take it off at the same time. In fact, it would have mattered less if the old system of not being able to choose full-faced helmets outside of special environments actually WAS in place, but now that the toggle is more needed than before, it's gone. It's like watching a dog trying to catch its own tail

*sigh*
I wondering if any BW employee played Mass Effect 2 with these DLC armors. I mean they had to feel it takes away from the experience. Blinking lights cannot make up for facial animations it just can't.
Question since nothing will be done is it even possible to do something similar to what Dragon Age had? Even that would be better than what is in place. I understand these armors wont be used all game but how many people bought this game with these kind of incentives?

They fixed Bioware's broken low resolution wooden textures in DA:O, they'll fix this too. It's no biggie.

Don't worry, the mod makers will fix it Majpain. Trust me. I know a few pretty darn good ones.

Sadly I don't have the PC version. I get my copy of ME2 on Friday.
I don't think it gets changed after what Christina said.

On the consoles? No.
On PC? Yes.
Modders can do *anything* given time. Atari locked out the ability to mod ToEE...yet CO8 and Livonya modded the ever loving heck out of that game. Even made a SEQUEL using the stripped-down engine.
Nothing on the PC is unmoddable.
Nothing.

...but not at the expense of the story. Kissing through the helmet, drinking through the helmet, being recognized through the helmet... Mass Effect THRIVES on immersion, and that sucks me straight out. So no DLC armors for me if this is the case. Which is a shame, 'cause the armor DOES look good and does assist nicely.

As a developer I hope whoever is responsible for this blunder realizes it and I sincerely hope BioWare is taking steps to correct this ASAP. It's such a simple little thing that is an absolute immersion killer in a game where immersion is king.

ME thinks these armors don't really fit well with the game. Are the N7 armors the same with the helmets? I know you can at least customize it but if it blocks your face do you have the same problem?
One of the N7 default helmets has an open moth area and a visor over the eyes, which is nice...but if you want the best of both worlds do what I did and buy the Visor from the Elcor's shop on Omega. It gives you a 10% bonus to headshot damage and lets you have a bit of "helment" without blocing your face.
Looks pretty cool too.
