Ultimately, it will be disappointing for those at Bioware who spent long hours creating these awesome armors that are rarely used because the helmets cannot be removed.

Personally, I would be wearing either the Terminus or Cerberus Assault Armor had we the option to remove the helmets. Since we cannot, I will restrict myself to N7 Armor--which is my own problem, I know.

It's just sad that all this hard work is being wasted because of the something simple like perma-helmets.

I will say this: while I find the idea of running around in a combat zone without a helmet to be silly, the Blood Dragon Armor looks boss without a helmet. Care to give Terminus Armor the same treatment? ^_^

I'd love to, but unfortunately that is the one armor I don't have thanks to the messed-up preorder system. If someone has a spare Terminus code, I'd be more than happy to post a photoshop of it!

What I would really like to see is Shep take the helmet off or the face plate go transparent when you are entering conversation. Makes it alittle more realistic, and then as he/she is walking away you can have them put the helmet back on for dramatic effect.

CheesecakeRecipe, your post (Link) totally sums up this whole issue. I can't think of anyway to add or make more of a point to this discussion then what you said, congrats really. I hope Bioware sees it, and reconsiders their stance on this issue (if they haven't already lol).

Ps: I had the same idea about mixing 2 pics together, but it came out pretty bad lol. Camera wouldn't cooperate and using paint program, you'll see what I mean lol.

These are Not Real, I made them using Paint.

How hard is it to toggle the helmet off ? a simple patch would work

I think what is equally important if this ever gets addressed is to add the toggle for squadmates as well as Shepard, just like in ME1. I never wear the helmet at all, because I think it looks stupid for me to run around fully suited up just to have Garrus with his metal head totally exposed. Of course that brings me to squadmate armor....having a chick wearing nothing but spandex that somehow keeps her safe from explosions. Oh well...one thing at a time.

I agree. I decided to try the Inferno armor for one mission, which happened to be on Illium. That's where you meet Liara, and Shep kisses her THROUGH THE FACEPLATE. That just killed me :/

Yeah I wish they would give you the helmet toggle off option for the custom armors.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I've made a group looking to support this change, if not for current armor then future DLC armor.

The group is open to everyone to join and can be found here, or in my signature.

The purpose is to collect everyone who feel this change is important, get them organised in one place, so BioWare can see how many of us really want this.

oops, so there already was a thread on the helmets? Ok, please patch! It's weird seeing liara kiss my FShep through a helmet! Or having people recognize her through a helmet!

I agree with this. It seems well silly not to have helmets "go invisible" when you are talking. Like your PC has "taken it off". After all keeping it on while talking to people would be rude.

I wish Bioware would take Blizzard's patching philosophy, rather than the "working as intended" approach. While I may not think highly of Blizzard's games, but they patch their games until it shines!

Aye, sadly BioWare won't do it because there is no money it for them at the expense of reworking the art assets and patching the option in. Blizzard would do it because they know their reputation for ongoing support is unmatched and earns them loyal fans.

Sadly you are probably right. However, although they will see no money gain from fixing this error, they will see a money loss in future products. I know I am only one person and only speak for myself, but after this issue I am done pre-ordering more expensive editions of Bioware games. Doing so in this case was not worth it in my opinion. If they actually do decide to be the Bioware of old and fix something that should not have made it this far, I may reconsider.

Everyone complaining about the helmet toggle on/off needs to quit and go play something else if it bothers them that much. The very small percentage of people complaining are nothing compared to the masses who bought the game and have no problem with it.

That's my main issue.  How could they possibly recognize Shepard before Shep even speaks, when covered in bug-parts with glowing eyes?   (Collector armor is the only helmeted one I ever wear)

The thing is I don't entirely blame them. Fixing it will take money and man hours that could be spent on another project, (especially given the something big ME related coming out Q1 2011 chatter) it's hard to see that the boost in fan love with pay that back even in the long run. If they want a reputation for after sale support for their game they've gone about it completely the wrong way. From the fragmentation of pre-order bonuses, the Warden's keep storage box fiasco, the stream of content for ME1 that never materialised, major bugs that were never fixed (power wheel glitch for example). In fairness post WoW Blizzard has gone from a new game every two years with expansion and support for older games in between to not bringing out a new game in the last six years, rolling in a big pile of money in between. In contrast BioWare has moved from a new game every, almost, two years to trying to bring out something more often.

Still it would be nice.

I don't mind so much that they don't fix it. But a statement to the effect that they thought leaving the helmet on would be cool, but they realize now that the fans don't like it. They can't change existing armor but future armor would be useable without the helmet. That would end the entire thread for most of us.

I understand the argument behind the armor is one piece and not designed to be segmented...so yeah, I get it, its not going to be customizable like the N7.

So re-design the armors so that they do not include the helmet and make it an actual separate armor selection.

Sure that may sound like an extreme fix to the developer...but you can NOT tell me seriously that drinking or kissing through a helmet does not constitute a bug. It clearly is NOT working as intended.

I've got both the cerberus and collector's armor, but I won't be using it beacause of the helmet issue.

Seems odd that Bioware haven't thought of this. Kissing and drinking with helmet on is definetly a bug.

The least they could do is comment this thread and give us an answer, but I really hope they do better than that and adress the issue.

It looks like most people have already summed up my thoughts, but I figured the more that comment on this the better.

I love the look of the terminus and cerberus armors, but I'll never wear them for the very reason that the helmet is there.

I agree that it breaks immersion during conversations, drinking and kissing. While its working as intending and therefore not defined as a bug, its one hell of a kick to my suspension of disbelief.

I know some will argue that you need to wear your helmet during combat, but seeing as all of my companions are fine without, why am I so squishy that I need it?

For me, it goes beyond just conversations though. I want to see my Shepard's face all the time. Why give us the ability to spend hours perfecting a face, only to hide it?
