what strikes me as the stupidest aspect of the movie is the main ghost girl herself. So, she goes to a party, gets completely wasted, then someone films her. She loses face and ends here life. Then blames the person who filmed it as the problem. 

 

You got plastered you dummy! Blame yourself for getting wasted, not filmed!

The chick ghost was an attention ho and now that she's dead, she's come back for more attention via being a vengeful spirit.

Out of breath with beads of sweet pouring down their faces, they mustered the full power of the keyboard and exclaimed, "The power of looking away from the screen compels us."

So they turned off their PCs and went outside to do something with their lives.

Turns out they were actually on LSD while video chatting.
Ended up ODing.
Everyone died.

My initial impression was it seems like the basis of the story was inspired by the gang rape, photographing, posting online and harassment that led to the suicide of Rehtaeh Parsons.

Eerily, some of the comments that are being made on here and youtube related to this trailer are reminiscent of those that tried to justify the abuse she suffered.

Not saying that that's not horrible. It's a terrible tragedy at the very least. But I still don't like this movie. Making this into the horror movie that it is is just really bad storytelling. I feel like there just isn't enough there to make it the movie that it's trying to be. That's all.

And a ghost that murders people they suspect uploaded a video? Those people weren't the ones who performed that 9mm lobotomy. I guess if somebody was an idiot in life they're still an idiot in death.

Not saying that that's not horrible. It's a terrible tragedy at the very least. But I still don't like this movie. Making this into the horror movie that it is is just really bad storytelling. I feel like there just isn't enough there to make it the movie that it's trying to be. That's all.  

It does look like it could be a terrible movie. Yet, I will be going to watch this. This movie seems to have the elements that could make it a precursor to a new take on the Death Wish style of movie.
