Not sure if this has been discussed before - it most probably has, so apologies for bringing it up again in advance. In DAO, the Warden is silent for the most part except for the voice choices while entering combat which set their 'tone'. So I was wondering with which one did you go for mostly and why.

Personally, when it comes to warrior or rogue, I mostly go with Experienced (and it's an always if my character is Male Dalish, because... hey, Mark Meer. XD) . That and I like the 'Warden senses tingling' quote. When it comes to Mage class, I go for Wise, whereas with Dwarves I almost always pick Smart.

I tried Violent maybe once or twice, but the ladder quote was just too much for me. XD

So, what about you guys? Did you go for something different or something similar? :)

I normally go Suave male voice for my dalish elf.  Experience for my Cousland Characters, Mystical for Mages and Cocky for Male Dwarves.

Violent for City Female Elf.

Violent for my female Cousland rogue. I just thought her voice fit the best with the character I created in my head. Also, I loved the ladder line and the Easter Egg I found in the Western Approach in DAI that made a reference to it made me scream in my chair.

I chose Violent for my male Cousland. I love his voice, like liquid chocolate, especially when he does that sinister laugh. "Just call me 'the Reaper'!" BUAHAHAHA. He does make that awkward scream sometimes when he gets hit. But hey, that's what people do when they're getting mauled.

I also like the Experienced voice. "Finally, something that can swallow me whole!" Love that quote.

I have no preference for any of the female voices strangely... I pretty much like them all depending on which fits my character better. Having options is great.

Haven't tried a male warden yet, but planning on it on my next playthrough.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that particular mod. Interesting. :)

Yeah, saw that. It took me a couple of seconds to get it but then I couldn't help but laugh. :D

Wise Female Cousland Rogue quotes Star Wars and Blackadder.

"It's a trap!"

"Look there--a cunning trap."

I too dig the ladder line and its Western Approach winky wink. Violent Female Brosca. Ah, Kaylee. She's a badass.

I had a Mystical Female Mage Amell once. So serious. And scary. "Yesss"

I think I went for either Wise or Mystical for my canon (M!Surana) Warden.

I know I've done Violent a few times, most memorably with my F!Aeducan.  The ladder line is priceless from a dwarf. XD

I've also used Experienced with one or two characters.  I'm currently playing a Sultry-voiced F!Brosca who is just epic.

Those who picked Violent for their females-you want to listen to Anora for an entire game? Same voice actor does it that voices Anora in the game.

I like her well enough, but listening to her talking about ladders for an entire game would drive me up a wall. Another wall.

With a different enough accent that I never even noticed.

But that does remind me, Jowan's voice actor also did the Suave male voice.  Which I have somehow never been able to use since I realized that.

And Jowan is Chanter Devons.

And Taliesen is Fenris.

And Zevran is one of the M!Inquisitors.

Voice actors are so cool.

The funniest thing ever is Cassandra as that Orlesian noble from DA2. "Blood mage?!" LOL

They are that.  And the best ones manage to make each character voice sound unique so you can't tell it's the same actor.  For instance, I would never have guessed Samson, Taliesen and Fenris were all voiced by the same man.  Samson and Fenris, maybe, but Taliesen?  Not so much.

Personally, my jaw was dropped when I discovered that the Violent Female Elf was voiced by Cree Summers. And then my inner Transformers fan squeed in delight. XD

I went with the Violent voice set for my first character (a male city elf rogue), and I have not used that set since except for the time or two I've replayed the game with him. It doesn't seem quite right to assign it to another character. That, and I can only take so much of "can I get you a ladder? So you can get off my back?" every five seconds.

Other than that, I've just jumped all over with regards to voice sets. They don't have much of an impact on how I see the character; I just go with the same method I've always used for picking voice sets, which is that I try a few out and go with whatever feels right. Mostly I look more for how the voice sounds than what it says.

"It is a fine thing we've done." - After butchering a group of men who had no chance against us.

"There is no glory in bloodshed." - While butchering a group of men using blood magic.

Originally I thought I chose the 'Wise' voice. Turns out that's just a cover-name for the 'sick-demented-bastard' voice.
