Dragon age Origins,Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition...Which one has the best Soundtrack?!?

One of the things that helps to create a solid and immersive world in a game,no doubt is the soundtrack...The music that plays in the background when you explore dungeons, passes through snow path, through forests and deserts, the music of the great cities and small towns...Music that plays when you go through quiet paths or when you face an epic battle...

Dragon Age Origins by Inon Zur

Dragon Age II also by Inon Zur

Dragon Age Inquisition  by Trevor Morris

So?

I can't hear any music in DA:I. Its been that way since the game came out. I hear music during cutscenes, but that's it. Seems to be a bug.

My vote goes to DA:O.

Same here. Can't hear any music longer than 5 seconds in DAI. Only musics so long : dawn will come and final boss. A little more is needed to make an opinion.

My vote goes to DAI. It has varieties of evocative tracks.

  • Dragon combat tracks (4 in total)
  • In Your Heart Shall Burn (Eg. Haven Siege)
  • Wicked Hearts and Wicked Eyes
  • Capturing Keep tracks
  • The one that plays in Cassandra's inner circle quest

Simply euphoric. I do miss DAO and DAII vocal songs though.

DA:O for me. I don't hear much of the music in DA:I to really say it's good or not.

I'm trying to decipher what the 'g' stands for in DAGII and DGI in the thread title....

Anyway, DAI gets my vote for best soundtrack.

I prefer DA:O slightly to Inquisition.  DA2 really was sort of "meh" to me.

DAO.

DAI might have been able to compete if it actually played during the game.

I'm in love with some of the tracks from Inquisition. So that gets my first vote XD

Probably

DAI > DA2 > DAO

I enjoyed DAO a lot in game, but I haven't really felt any desire to hear it outside. DA2 has a few of my favorites, but overall DAI had more for me to enjoy.

Hmm...I have to say DA:O by a slim margin.

However, Trevor Morris did genuinely surprise me - I was very disappointed to hear Inon Zur was gone. The Dragon Age Inquisition Theme is a wonderful composition, possibly my favourite piece from all three games. However the ambient music and overall soundtrack of Origins is slightly better IMO.

Origins' soundtrack was far more distinctive and interesting. DAI's soundtrack is generic Hollywood blockbuster offcuts; it sounds like something Two Steps From Hell would put together for a trailer.

I think the reason I am partial to the DA:O is the cutscene before Ostagar where it's raining, and the song is playing as the clerics sprinkle incense and holy water on them and you know that they are doomed.  Just a haunting scene.  None of the others have anything like it.

On average; Dragon Age: Origins, by a landslide. The main theme as a crowning jewel on top.

Music in all three games are great, but Origins is the most perfect, just as the game itself <3

I had hope for DAI ost but the main theme is all I can remember from it. I'd say DAO had the best because I can instantly tell it's Dragon Age when the Origin ost is played. Battle of Ostagar had an amazing track.

I'd give it to DA:I. Now if only they'd play it more. Creating a mood in an open world isn't about forgoing background music, it's about making in unobstrusive yet interesting, as easy to ignore as it is pleasing to listen to. And they had some pieces like that, they jsut barely ever played them.

Easily DAI for me. The music is really beautiful and there's one piece that plays sometimes (especially in the Graves and Storm Coast) that's just haunting, really sad. It's a shame the music doesn't play in so many people's games. They really need to fix that.

I just wish the music played more often, I'm not a fan of exploring huge areas in silence (especially since I do have some buggy banter).

EDIT!!!...I'll give you an example of an open World game which the Soundtrack at the Background helped to create an deep Immersion,TESV SKYRIM...I do not like to mention it over here (Some people really hate comparations between those games...) but is a true fact... ;P
