During the character creation I selected two-handed warrior, but then decided that I'd rather do sword and shield. I noticed I can spec that was in the level up screen. If I did this would my character be weaker than she could be? Does what I selected in the character creator affect how attributes are assigned to my character as I level up or does that matter?

There is no difference other than your starting skills between sword and shield warriors and two-handed warriors. You can change via respec amulet at anytime you will be fine.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I don't know if I'll even need to respect; I changed my mind at the first level up and so I only have that one two handed starting skill.

respec amulet for 1 gold (the first time) at Haven. There's a Buy/Sell store in the crafting area.

No reason to keep that 2H skill if you're using 1H. Respec will get the 2 points back for your starting skills.
