I think I might be getting something similar. I get to the launcher menu with options ranging through Play, Configure, Support, etc, press "Play", and the game instantly crashes out, leaving me with the following error message:



MassEffect2.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because d3dx10_39.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may solve this problem.





I've reinstalled twice now, for a total of three installations where the same problem occurs.

Anyone?

Try starting the EACoreServer and then using the MassEffect2.exe.  I also tried the EACoreServer and running the regular interface and it worked for me.

Ok, I did what the other guy suggested, the guy with the gnome as his avatar. I wiped and reinstalled, doing the custom install, giving the game its own complete, isolated folder apart from other games and such, and giving it a desktop shortcut, works fine. Thanks man, if you happen to be reading this.



Hurp, now I just have to find out where Mass Effect 1 stashes its save game files, durp. It was a downloaded copy, from the recent Steam download deal. I'ma go digging around in my hard drive.

My EACoreServer.exe gives an error and won't start...

edit:i have instaled adobe air, still have the same problem
my version is the celebration of bioware sequels so i don t have the CD version, come on I want to play this game

Well i cant get my free ME:2 to work

Anyone have any ideas about how to rectify this or who i should talk to?

When i hit play it says : awc.dll load failed andI have downloaded and installed it twice and it says the same thing :S

Mins from the special sequel thing they are doing and it just wont work :Sit says its all downloaded from the EADM and it just wont load any help?

I also recently downloaded it due to the sequel celebration, and also have the awc.dll error as soon as I try to open the game.

I thought about trying to reinstall it, but for some reason it won't let me uninstall - EADM just opens my programs and features, yet Mass Effect 2 is not included in those features.
