Citadel is a pure fun factor for me, it's so silly at times, but that makes it what it is
Loved the character interaction in it, and it's really long, so that's a huge plus too.
I liked Citadel very much and I laughed so much while playing it. I guess there were just too many jokes in it. I like it more when there is little bit less of them like in the main campaign. Maybe I'm too serious ![]()

To be honest I completely understand what you say, and it's true.
But, spoilers now...

Hell, I was happy with Leviathan's ending, much less the EC. The EC and Citadel were icing.
EDIT : Or rather, much more happy, I guess I should say.

Mass Effect 3 is the best game in the trilogy,so if you loved the first two you'll love the third game. But before buying make sure you have all the DLC. All of them. That is From Ashes,Leviathan,Omega and Citadel.
And don't listen to the fanboys;aside from the actual "Battle for Earth" the ending is great once you have the EC.

In the great "does the ending suck?" debate I fell firmly on the negative side. I knew about it going in so expectations weren't overly high, and I had the extended cut, to blunt the disappointment. Even then it was a hard pill to swallow.
I say this only to give context to my recommendation. Get it.
I've said this before but I still believe it. In different ways ME3 is both the best, and worst game in the trilogy. That's to say, there are certain things that I do not like about it, and there are many others that I adore. A lot is made of the final mission, but I really didn't care for the intro either. The narrative bookends aside the story is actually good. Very good. Combat as others have pointed out is easily the best of any of the three games. The replacement for the mining for resources mini game is better, or at least much quicker and less tedious. A lot of people had issues with the dialogue wheel and felt that it did away with neutral responses, and Shepard has more auto dialogue than previous games. None of that really bothered me, I felt the auto dialogue more often than not went the way I'd have chosen to go anyway. The character-writing, I felt was very strong, both for the existing characters and the new ones. Someone said to give Vega a chance, I'd agree with that one, he gets an unfair bum rap.
I'd echoe the sentiments raised by others re the DLC. Everything bar Omega is pretty much essential IMO.
If you're working your way through the first few games before starting ME3 then I'd say that's a wise choice. I played a vanilla run through once and it was a fairly soulless experience given the game's default settings if you haven't imported.
Despite me being critical of certain aspects of ME3 it's probably the one I've ploughed most time into.

lol what?Mass Effect 3 is no less an RPG than the previous games.
seems like someone forgot about the crazy amount of auto dialogue
or choices like the rachni queen or collector base
streamlined with no consequences
I agree with another poster here
ME3 in some aspects is the best of the trilogy (gameplay, squadmate interaction, Tuchanka and Rannoch arcs are awesome)
but also the worst (bad prologue, garbage ending derp ceberus, no love for ME2 squadmates etc.)

With Citadel DLC there is enough love for all squadmates.
Best weapon customization/ balance / powers in ME3.
You mean choices like the rachni queen, the council,Anderson vs Udina, Feros and much more that meant nothing in me2?
And do you mean like the illusion of choice that existed in ME1 dialogues too?
All Mass effect games have the best/worst parts of the trilogy.

Get it, play it, enjoy it.
That is all there is to say, really. Get the DLC as well, might as well go all out for this series.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens seeing as how Bioware is clearly waiting till E3 to announce the next ME title.

Overall? No. It easily has the best combat in the series, but ME1 has far better storytelling (as well as a better story), and ME2 has better character development. ME3 is not a bad game, in fact it's quite the opposite, but it's not the best in the series.Mass Effect 3 is the best game in the trilogy
@OP - Looks like you've already made up your mind, but go for it. DLC is a must-play as well, as it really fleshes out the base experience.

Good points, Pearl. Also, I'd like to know the OP's thoughts - how was it? Were you right to get it?

50/50 chance you'll like it. I'd say it's at least worth £15.

ME1 has very shaky gameplay.
ME2 has a story so thin it's see through. You're mostly doing a Dr Phil simulation. In space though, I guess that counts for something.
