I'm about to craft Dragon bone dagger and I can't decide which masterwork is better for rogue's survivability. Silverite generates guard at a constant rate but Aurum, it seems, can give much more when fighting groups of enemies. I also have Fade-touched snoufler skin but that seems inferior to both metals.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

One of each, you need two daggers but, Silverite first, it will help with the next dragon you need.

I thought about making the second dagger with whatever masterwork applies 5 hits hidden blades. Silverite + Autum seems like a bit too much... Although, is it really possible to have too much guard?

A good rogue can complete NM w/o guard at all. However with the attack speed of daggers - one silverite is more than enough.

Imo:

1% LS
5 Guard on hit
5 Hidden blade

Is the optimal combo if you want a decent balance of defensive and offensive power.

Put the Gain Guard on armor, problem solved.

I find guard on hit rather useless for my rogues as they seldom get hit in the first place. Better to focus on dealing as much damage as possible IMO. My current char has x5 Hidden Blades on one dagger, x4 Hidden Blades on the other and 100% Chain Lighting on the armor.

This pretty much.

A Rogue's best defense is their superior offence.
