I posted this question in the Tech Support forum but never got an answer:

I'm planning on getting a PS4 in the near future and had a question: is it possible to connect to the Internet, download a World State and start a new game, then disconnect the PS4 from the internet completely and continue to play that save? My 360 has separate save files for hard drive and XBL profiles, making it impossible to play a non-default world state save offline. Does the PS4 function the same way?

What she said.

The internet is only necessary really, if you want to create a world state of your own rather than use the default..

IR. Were you thinking what I was thinking?

That's what I want to do. I have my World State ready, but I wasn't sure if the PS4 functions like the 360 in that you can't play XBL profiles offline (or I can't, at least) so I couldn't play with a custom world state.

You're good to go. I had to play offline myself for about a week when my internet was being stupid.

I had that issue. The damned thing kept cutting out.. I was lucky I could even load a world state.

Turned out it was the modem. Cheap and nasty.

PS4 here. The first world state I created and uploaded failed and I got the default.

Others that I've tried worked. What I found to watch for was to ensure World State DATE you save, matches the date you get when you start a new character.
