Ok, so I have a simple request really. Having played several classes within the storm coast in the long river area, mainly within that cave I must ask about the spiders. Why, Bioware, why do they not drop loot 9 times out of 10? Is that by design or some flaw with the coding you intend to fix at some latter date? Playing my elf 2 handed warrior not long ago, I thought it had been sorted when 4-5 spiders dropped loot out of 9...then back on my dwarf hunter and...one out of 23 dropped something and no rune materials whatsoever.

To me it seems Bioware don't understand WHY players like to be able to kill enemies time and again. Part of it is the xp, yes, it is nice to not HAVE to only get to level up via quests. Especially when so many of those quests can be so vague and/or boring, but you give us the ability to craft stuff, and you give us respawning enemies [which some of us feel respawn too fast, but not me] and then you take away one of the ONLY reasons why we like respawning enemies. The loot. Say I am playing an MMO that offers crafting, and I am chasing silk. Spiders make silk, so I would go to a place on that MMO I know spiders inhabit, and I would start killing spiders for that silk, to make whatever craft item/s I desire to make. I would obviously not be very happy if I have to kill 10-15 at a time before a single one drops something. In fact, on the MMOs I have played if I kill 15 of the same variety of enemy and not a single one bar one drops something...to me that would be a bug. Enemies that respawn are SUPPOSED to have loot that you can acquire for a specific purpose. It don't have to be fantastic loot, it don't even have to be decent. In fact we are simply looking for components Heck, even bears and rams and other furry animals don't drop their pelts no where near often enough, but they still do so enough of the time to not be absolutely pointless to kill. It just seems to be with the spiders mostly that its daft. They need to be looked at. Sure, Bioware, if you want us players to have to kill 100s of the damn things to get enough materials for ONE damn rune, at least have the spiders drop other loot often enough so we can at LEAST make some coin out of the endeavour.

My whole reason for saying this is because I know the kind of genre you are trying to tap into, I know it and I know it VERY WELL, having spent THOUSANDS of hours playing MMOs. You want Inquisition to be your foray into that market.[without actually having an open world state with 1000s of players] This means you have to learn how things work, and they DONT work with MOBS not dropping loot 9/10 times. So please fix this. I am not asking for you to make it so we can get enough materials for runes for our weapons easy as the click of the finger...but more realistic drop rates for any kind of loot from such as spiders, and all other animals that drop crafting materials would make your player-base happy.

My game works fine. Plenty of spider drops and loot. Playing with patches 1 and 2 only.

That's interesting. I am playing DIA on xbox 360, we don't get the option to avoid patches if we want to. So you think the problem could be because of patch 3-4 or 5?

The game is not very generous with loot drops (curse of the RNG). I purchased (PS4) just before Patch 4 and 5, so I can't comment about previous versions but people have complained and I've seen it mentioned in other threads.

Well I deleted the latest title update just to see if that would help but unfortunately if you have save files that are influenced by said title update the game does not let you load those saves. That and every time you start the game up online if you don't have the latest title update it pretty much demands that you do so. I feel all my saved games are affected by the latest title update and I REALLY don't want to delete my games on the possibility loot drops are affected by one of the latter patches. Surely the problem is not by design? I cant allow myself to think that. Bioware have to sort this problem with loot out. It is not about RNG, as that is more to do with more useful stuff such as accessories and decent gear, and NOT about whether some dumb animal will have a hide for you to take. Heck, Bears drop their hides often enough, not every time yet often enough, as do most other animals. By the same degree of logic Spiders SHOULD drop Spider specific loot, yet don't. No this is not the RNG, this is NOT by design, Bioware need to fix this.
