Don't get me wrong, I actually like Sera as a character and always recruit her. I've gotten more fond of her in every playthrough because I like how she's quirky and unafraid to speak her mind, I just dislike how we're never really given any option to call her out on some of her actions or attitudes, whereas if we do something or say something she disagrees with, she's incredibly vocal about her displeasure?
This. One million times over.
I've got no clue why any inquisitor would just sit there and let some immature brat call them stupid all day. Bioware effectively neutered the inquisitor in this regard. And yet, the inquisitor can punch Dorian in the face..........why? I would love a "Punch Sera" option personally, but I'd settle for a dialogue option that lets my inquisitors at least throw shade. It'd be perfect. Sera's not clever enough to recognize when she's being subtly insulted. When you reach Skyhold and speak with Sera, the inquisitor can sarcastically comment that the inquisition has attracted all sorts of crazies (referring to Sera), but Sera mistakenly believes you're referring to everyone else.
To answer the OP, however, I do not think with the inquisitor you described that you can justify taking Sera into your party. It makes more sense to recruit Sera with the "outsider" races, but not with a truly noble human.
bwut morrigan is a howwwible character, bwecause my warden swaid so.Aww, but seriously, though, who's better is always debatable. I have my favorite and you have yours, and to each his own.

Still, I can see why some people like Sera, and why some people hate her. Lukas wasn't joking when he says Sera is to love or to hate character.
Isn't it, just, beautiful?Wow. I can hear heavy artillery in the distance.

Personally, I prefer precision air strikes, but yes...

Yes to justfying Sera when you get things like this...
Sera: Orange...no Robins eggs
Cassandra: What are you on about now?
Sera: I was wondering what colour your underpants were Cassandra.
Cassandra: I don't wear underpants.
Sera: (Giggling)...Hear that everyone....Cassandra doesn't wear underpants.
Cassandra: (Stays silent).
Love it

You have more options with Sera than you do with most. Sure, you can punch Solas and Dorian, but you have to go down the disapproval path to even get that far, whereas with Sera you can criticize her and kick her out as early as you like. Heck, you can criticize what she's doing before even agreeing or disagreeing to recruit her. This is on top of being able to threaten her and make her run off to never be seen again if you go down the disapproval path. Sure, you can't physically assault her, it's not like the Inquisitor can never say anything particularly mean.

The subtle rejection she gives to the flirt option is amusing.

This is an act of war if ever there was one! ![]()
There are options. She does have her spy network. Maybe your inquisitor has a bleeding heart for troubled kids. Maybe your inquisitor is trouble.
I really don't like Sera but I managed to cough up a reason for my inquisitor. She may end up being the one that doesn't get snapped up for my Canon playthrough but idk yet.
My Lavellan was homesick and wanted another elf around. She started to regret her choice when Sera started with all the "anti-elfy" thing but chalked it up to alienage elves being different (not unusual for non-Dalish elves to worship the Maker, see the City Elf origin from DAO). The turning point came with the pranks, where Sera got Elasha to stop taking herself so seriously and have some fun, stop being the Herald or even a Dalish elf and just be a young woman for once. They've been firm friends ever since. Recently it's started to grow into something more...
But I haven't done the Temple of Mythal yet, dunno what I'm gonna do there. Elasha is a proud Dalish but I heard that acting so leads to an argument with Sera and even a breakup. So I dunno.
I liked Sera in the beginning but me being an Elf and her thinking anything elven is stupid ruins her for me. My noble quiz almost banned her after Verchiel with negative responses. Because it seems she does not care as much as she says she does. Anti elf elf
OK, OK, I AM SORRY. IT WAS ME WHO STOLE YOUR BREECHES, BY THE CREATORS. I AM SORRY.
Leburns what are you doing? You didn't even play the game.
@franciscoamell, ??? Been playing at my brothers house if you must know. As far as what am I doing, I'm trying to figure out a way to justify bringing Sera into the party based on the terrible initial introduction we're given of her. Feel free to add your input. I think I'm about to the point where I need to make an insane dwarf to make it happen.

Dwarf or qunari works best.
Qunari is a merc and is used to working with and leading all different kinds of people.
Dwarf = Carta and is used to shady people.
Yeah I played a rogue dwarf in DAO and loved her. She could appreciate someone like Sera.

While punching companions is always my preference, I do like the "If you're not the archer, you're the target" line you can use on Sera before scaring her out of the Inquisition.

I'm sure someone here will give you some satisfactory excuse. If people can talk my ear off with reasons how it makes sense to recruit a caged giant who murdered eight people, including children, with his bare hands then surely they can justify recruiting Sera.
@ LeBurns
I like how you metagame to include her into the party. For me it's the opposite. Following the experience of my first playthrough, where I recruited everyone and their mother, I never recruited her again.
Cass in VR: "An arrow?"
Quizzy: "Trust me, you don't want to know more about that."
And they all promptly forget about the incident ![]()
Cole is almost in the same boat. He just sits forgotten in the attic, regardless of my character's class

But none of that is as satisfying as a Renegade Shepard punch to the face! ![]()
Didn't Bioware say that they KNEW Sera was going to essentially be a love or hate character? People seem to feel similarly about Solas. If people hate him, fine, punch him all you want. I just want some equal opportunity sucker punches to Sera's fugly face.

I would accept this as a consolation prize only if Sera cried like a baby and wet herself in the process of fleeing Skyhold.

Punching women in a video game? Think of the shitstorm if that were to happen!

I really did not want to make a new topic about this but I'm confused by Sera's quest. I did it once where I talked too long and she killed the guy, now I'm doing it again. The first time, and again now, I have no idea what the heck this guy did to deserve to die. Also who is the dude you meet when you first go there, then he gets shot by arrows? The whole thing confused me.
Sera got a tip from someone outside the Jennies that people were getting caught in the middle of a land squabble between the nobles of Verchiel. Per Cullen's report at the war table, refugees were being displaced deliberately in an attempt to destabilize land claims, so Sera asked to have Inquisition soldiers march through Verchiel to spook the nobles into stopping. Pel Harmond apparently got wind of this and dealt with some of those responsible, and used the guy that sent the tip to set a trap. Basically, the guy was an a-hole that didn't really care what happened to the peasantry while he was engaged in his dispute. If you probe through some of the dialogue (without her killing him) you can point out that he killed Sera's contacts, and he's rather unapologetic in his admission to it. If it was possible for the Inquisitor to do him in personally, I might have taken that option, but using the nobility perk to seize his lands and title is the next best thing.
I do think that this quest kind of suffers from how brief it is, though you get enough from reading the war table operation and the subsequent report.
