Ah! The days of DHMG!
DHMG, Scribbles/Scribe Girl, Bearded Warden, Blonde Elf Girl, Bald Elf Guy. Good times.
And FOLLOWER FRIDAYS!! lmfao. Those turned out well.... hahaha
I rather lament the absence of the absence of his goatee (is that how you call the lower part of the moustache?)

BALD ELFY MCSMUGGS
THEY'RE TURNING THE TEMPLERS INTO CERBERUS!!!!!!11111
PRE-ORDER CANCELED!!!!!
Ah, back when I thought DHMG was a chevalier, when people originally, (long before Scribbles), thought Josie was a 'paintress', and Beardface would be a Giles-like mentor figure.
List of things Solas was speculated to be in the Bald Elf McSmuggins thread prior to release (I kept a record for posterity - of the ones I saw anyway):
A necromancer, a Dreamer, an ancient elf, Dorian Pavus, Felassan reborn, Felassan in disguise, an associate of Felassan's, Dalish, not Dalish, a follower of Falon'Din, "Judas", a hermit
I also fondly remember the outcry about how he was
1) bald
2) bland
3) ugly
4) Nosferatu
5) Voldemort
6) a combination of the above
and how his grand total of like... five and a half fans at the time (i was totally one of them!!!1 #solashipster) were constantly defending him lmao
oh how times have changed ![]()
The Nosferatu thing always makes me giggle.
I admit, he was not my thing until I talked to him.

dat smoothtalkin welshman doe
Ah, yes. Well do I remember the days of Ser Bara 'Feathers' McBeardy. Who was totes a Grey Warden and was probably going on his Calling at the end of the game.
Remember when we used to sit around and argue about whether Iron Bull was actually a companion? Or whether Cole was actually Cole? Or that week when we all thought Solas was Dorian?

Strange to feel such acute nostalgia for the pre-release excitement. I remember the time when seeing animations for this game made me so excited.
It didn't really live up to hype I'd built up in my head.
The character profiles that included an interview with their writers.
[DRAGON AGE]: What can you tell us about Solas?
[PATRICK WEEKES]: He’s pretty straightforward, honestly. Just your average elven apostate who voluntarily joins the Inquisition in the middle of the mage rebellion to lend his expertise with the Fade.
[DA]: “Average,” huh?
[PW]: I like to keep it simple.
HA!
I wonder if this bit inspried Dorian's 'special special snowflake' line.

If he wasn't, I'll be very disappointed.I wonder if he was secretly thinking 'trolololololo' as he said that.
/throws glove at you/Turns out the Voldemort thing wasn't far off the money

You take that back

I also remember how we debated endlessly about who the companions were. They did a great job of hiding Cole and there were a solid number of people who thought that Cullen was going to be a companion and we'd end up with 4 warriors and 2 rogues. And there were also a bunch of people who insisted that there was no way that there would only be three female companions so the 9th companion had to be a previously unseen female rogue.
One of my favorite moments was when someone noticed that there was a tiny little DHMG-looking guy who was following the Inquisitor like a companion in one of the concept arts. Up until that moment, I thought for sure that he was going to be a Seneschal or something. And then they released the "We are the Inquisition" video and I was "Hellooooooooooo, DHMG. Damn!"
