The group of guys I play multiplayer regularly with and I were talking and collaborating on what we would like to see in the multiplayer and one topic was more prominent than others.
We were thinking how sweet it would be to have a dragon in multiplayer...
The sky is the limit (pun intended) when considering where to include a dragon fight... see below thoughts;
1. Final loot boss - after completing wave 5 in flies a dragon in which you and your team have the option (or not either way) to attempt to slay the dreadful beast for its precious treasures. Loot can be slightly better chance of unique items or the same random (most of the time shapoopy) items that other loot chests give or it could be a guaranteed unique item (level can be random so that not everyone is getting the best gear super fast).
2. Add a dragon to the eliminate the guardian loot chests (slightly overpowered option for most of the time dismal loot but hey its a dragon fight!)
3. Wave 5 could be a dragon with dragonlings fight as one of the ending possibilities. Two options here:
a. you are fighting Demons and when you think mr. jump out at you is going to show up... *BLAM* in flies Mr. Big Deal himself spewing flames of death and scaring player 1 
or...
b. you add another run completely (red temps, vins, demons, and the new run of____) that is for you guys to decide and then in wave 5 the boss guy is a dragon with scattered dragonlings.
Also when considering these things and how the loot would work being that as a player you would be expecting good loot from slaying a dragon the same as in single player mode. You could have dragons only available on Perilous difficulty or threatening difficulty or just have it where the loot drops are even with the difficulty completed. Routine (level 1-8) Threatening ( 9-16) Perilous (17+) for loot.
Anyways, just some thoughts that were tossed around while running some multiplayer and talking about dragon fights. I also tweeted @dragonage and was told to post it here so there you go!
