with new Gauntlets and boots, just like with the regular armor. you can kind of see it if you're wearing armor of the dragon while making new gauntlets and Boots at the smithy, Albeit it is with clipping, but heavier gauntlets and plate boots and it would be my favorite armor in the game, especially on a Qunari.
I would've loved if you could have upgraded the Armor of the Dragon.

I really, really wanted to like that armor, but I thought it was awful. On everyone. ![]()
But, as you said, maybe it would be better with heavier gauntlets and boots. I don't know. I guess I'm more of a fan of each person's iconic look/style of armor.

When I have the time, I'll go home and show you what I mean, I think it really really improves the armors, but then again personally I've always loved heavy gauntlets and boots.
I did see someone use it with an Elf, rogue along with a battlemage cowl I think, and that looked amazing.

Personally what I would have preferred with that armour is NOT the amour itself but a schematic of that armour, one you can craft, and depending on the materials used make it more potent. Obviously Iron would be run of the mill bog standard dragon armour, but something like everite as an example would give you a much better result at higher levels.

The stuff I made myself from the schematic (the schematics available as soon as you get to skyhold, it's in the chest next to the armor crafting table) wasn't to shabby, combined with a mages cowl it actually looked pretty good on my human mage. Also makes Elves look less anemic, which is nice. The all white stuff they give you at haven? Ya, that looks bad on pretty much everybody.

The armour looks ugly, I wish there was a way to modify the armour to adjust it to your own style.

I didn't mind it so much in darker colors, the all white version was hideous. Made me think, look I'm a school nurse that works in a tough neighborhood.. lol. Actually the best mage armor I've found believe it or not for median levels is the dress outfit from Wicked Hearts. You get the schematic for completing the quest, and you can actually get an armor ratng of 190 out of it without too much trouble. It looks pretty good on most characters especially in darker colors. I spent a lot of time wearing it on my last mage until I finally ran across some superior battlemage armor with better stats I couldn't pass up. I wish there were a non-elven version of the elven mage robes, they look great but they are elf only unfortunately. Same with the legion of the dead armor - best looking armor int the game without a doubt, but only available to dwarves.

Not sure how much of a fix is needed for the clipping to be fixed but honestly it would look better.

You've obviously not played the game much/ checked the small chest in skyhold. As there are Tier 2 and then Tier 3 schematics
