Most of the posters that are familiar with my posting history have seen that I have my own complaints and issues with the game.  While I encourage civility and constructive conversation, I don't think the game is perfect.  I prefer not to read a lot of EA/BioWare bashing to see if others are experiencing the same problems.  In light of that, this is my bigger problems with the game, in no particular order:

1) The RNG is terrible.  Starting with some of the quests, I thought BioWare had moved past having rare drop rates for quest items.  Even though I know I can skip the requisitions, I still enjoy doing them sometimes.  Quests like the Ferelden Cages can become impossible to finish due to the mobs no longer spawning that have the key after Haven.

The orange schematics are another source of contention for me.  I really don't appreciate having to either rely on luck or save scumming (saving and then reloading over and over again,) to get the orange tier 3 schematic that I used the Short List perk to get.  It would be greatly preferred if we could actually buy armor that we could use for ourselves.  Like having an orange masterwork in the Hissing Wastes available for the warrior PC.  Last time, I was on my warrior and could only get the orange mage schematic.

I would also like bosses to drop some more loot that the Inquisitor could actually use.  Such as having a greater chance for a 2-handed sword for a player that has that spec.  I know it's not popular, but Diablo 3 ended up finally patching in such a feature.  I would welcome that.

2) Two of the mosaic pieces are still bugged out of the main game.  While PC users are lucky enough to have a fix, this needs to change.  I never used the exploits, but this is one of those times where the patching process baffles me.   Dorian's family heirloom quest is still tough to trigger as well.   Why fix the exploits when there is still things like the mosaic pieces that are broken?  Please focus on this, devs, not finding harmless exploits.

3) I can customize my inner iris color.  My armor (finally.)  I'll be able to customize my character further when TBE is out.  I can acquire and select from about a dozen thrones, beds, banners, drapery, windows and general decor theme.  Yet, I have beige clothes with a dirt "feature" that I never asked for.  I also can't wear my armor at Skyhold.  That strikes me as a large oversight on the designers part.   More options, or at least a tint table for the clothes and a toggle for the armor, would help that.

The hair styles are even more limited in many ways compared to the first Mass Effect.  Sure, ladies have plenty of close shaven and bald options, but BioWare needs to add more options with at least shoulder length hair.  The clipping excuse that was given flat out bothers me, because my mage has her neck clipping through her armor when using the bun style.   That's not a modded hairstyle either.  It can get very distracting, as it happens on the better tier 2 and tier 3 styles no matter what I do.

4) Some of the War Table missions.  I don't mind a lot of them, but there are some that tick me off.  For instance, being able to kill off the remaining Wardens with no warning.  Or the elven PC's clan if you don't make the most careful choices.  I don't mind having text-only quests, but those aren't exactly small things.  I feel that for the future, they shouldn't make choices like that so easy to screw up as well as text-only.

5)  See: The PC issues thread.  I do run into stuttering, random CTDs that have no error, loading screens that freeze, and a few other issues.

6) The companion AI is suicidal.  I'm not much one for setting a lot of tactics, but at least in previous games my mages could flank without me directing them and my rogues to stay out of the front.   This time, I find myself micromanaging dragon fights because the AI lack such basic survival skills.   I would like this to be addressed, to where ranged characters don't stand directly in front of dragons or other mobs.

7)  On that note, the tactics are minimal even for me, someone that never used them much.  I know that other posters have and probably will express that better than I ever could.

8) The Hinterlands is way too front loaded, especially in comparison to later zones.  I know that players have been encouraging each other to leave the Hinterlands, which is a good idea.  However, it strikes me as a poor game design choice.  For the first area, that should be the chance for players to get a feel for the game.  Throwing that much at them at once can make it feel like a slog, and that's a shame.  I feel that the pacing of the other early zones, such as the Storm Coast and the Fallow Mire, felt a lot more organic.  I'm not sure if there's a solution for that for the devs to try, but it's something that I would not like to see a return of in future BioWare games.

9) I'm baffled as to why the music doesn't have a setting to loop it.  Almost every zone has about 60-90 seconds of music every 5 minutes or so.  That..isn't very much, and the music is part of what draws me into any RPG.  Perhaps the devs could add a way to keep the music constant, should the player so choose.

10) As of Patch 5, I'm getting options for conversations with companions at Haven that I shouldn't have access too.  For example, Varric can talk about the events of Haven and Cory's confrontation in the first conversation.  This doesn't bother me, but Haven is a huge deal, and I don't want new players getting spoilers.

11) Folks have mentioned the Amulets of Power and I ran into the same issue.  I never did the chest trick, but I used to be able to actually get them from chests.  Now the game laughs at my efforts, and I'd like this fixed for all players.

I edited the number out, because I couldn't think of anything else to add at the moment.

I refuse to bash BioWare or EA, because I find that useless.  I'd rather address the issues with some class, and while letting them know that this isn't good.  I'm no good at getting very angry, or if I do, I'm bad at staying that way.   :P

Number 11 is why I came back to the forums after a three year silence. The others are just as infuriating, but removing amulets of power was the last straw.

Also number six reminds me of Varric and his grapple hook thing where he dies over and over again. I've just stopped having as a companion because he always dies. Or I farm fade touched silverite and/or obsidian to get the guard bonus. But that can only do so much.

Grapple hook thing?  Um, that's in the warrior tree, so I think you're confused there.  Now Iron Bull can be a challenge to keep alive due to his 2H build, but he's been much easier to keep alive with the right gear.

Speaking of archery, I do wish the AIs had enough presence of mind (like in previous games) not to fling themselves off of cliffs due to their abilities.  If you want some dead rogues fast, give Varric or Sera Leaping Shot.  That tied into my argument that the AI apparently wants the party to die.

Rouges can grapple and hook towards an enemy, as opposed to bringing an enemy towards you as warriors can. It's under sabotage and the move is called hook and tackle.

Ah, I found it deep in the Sabotage tree.  I didn't know that was there, since I take Varric bow/stealth for the aggro reduction and flanking\artificer.  I didn't notice it on my first character either, my dwarven archer.  She was an assassin.  To be honest, I wouldn't have known that was there, if not for you.  I was going tempest on my latest character, so I would have probably missed it yet again.  Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that in mind for my own PC rogues in the future.  I'll...keep it far away from Varric and Sera though.   :)

I was a tempest once, then I found out your potions would disappear after fast travel and that was annoying.

I read your thread about that, but to be honest you're one of the few that's run into that.  I'm not saying it didn't happen nor that it isn't valid (I hate it when people do that,) but is it possible that some of those saves from that playthrough were corrupted?  I'll be going tempest with my archer, but I'll make a save before I finalize my choice.  If you'd like, here in about a week, I can PM you and let you know if I run into the same thing.  I just started her earlier today.   :)

Not all potions disappear, only the extra one that that one passive ability grants you. I've also run into the same thing when equipping the grenade belts and tonic belts. It never allows me to have any extra potions. They may have fixed it since that playthrough, but I haven't checked.

I'll keep an eye out for that.  I had no trouble with the grenade and tonic belts.  I ran around with Varric for most of the game with him wearing that.  My previous character was actually started during Patch 3 before I took a break and came back.  I didn't notice it when I was playing, but this could have been something that affects new characters created after Patch 5.  I'll let you know either way.

That particular bug is easy to miss if you don't obsessive compulsively micromanage every aspect of your gear like I do.

Oh, but I do.   I think I spend more time in the Undercroft and in the inventory screens than anywhere else in Skyhold.  This includes for potions, tonics and grenades.  I'm constantly running in and out of there.   :P

Like I said, I'll keep an eye out.

Edit: Something I wanted to add.  I'm on the PC, so if you're on console, there's a chance that you're getting a bug that I'm not.

That's good. If they fixed it, it might be worth playing a tempest again. But I really want my amulets of power back. The amount of time I spent collecting them for my character and others, as well as the role playing aspect of it, is irreplaceable. As far as my role playing aspect, I incorporated finding these amulets as a grueling test my character went through to be rewarded with power. Now it's a gap in my gameplay and makes it's hard to play.

These are my favorite parts of your OP. I've actually been thinking about starting a topic addressing a few of these.

The schematics availability issue is particularly frustrating to me. There are armor schematics I really want, but I haven't been able to find in any of my play throughs, no matter how much I've hunted.

That's why I made this thread.  I wanted to be civil, but I wanted this stuff to get out there without ranting too hard.   There are plenty of rant threads, so I figured I'd go against the norm.   :P

By the way, are you on PC or console?  I thought I remember saying you were on PS4, but I could be mistaken.  See, I'm trying to get a feel for the bugs/issues that have been effecting all players.  That's why I'm happy to test this on my end.  There are threads decided specifically to old gen consoles and to the PC, but I'm trying to let the devs know what's been happening to many of us.  Not just on one platform or another.

The lack of any orange longsword tier 3 schematics was immensely frustrating as well for my warrior.  According to a few sites, the drop is rather stupid in it's rarity.   I'm not complaining about my final weapon (Griffon Mace with nothing but dragon bone,) but it felt less iconic without wielding a sword.   That's more of a nitpick for me, but it does tie into the RNG problem with the orange tier 3 schematics.

Hmm, there doesn't appear to be a current gen console thread active.  Maybe stop by the old gen console thread, and see if they've run into it.  If nothing else, it could help narrow down whether or not it's console based.  You might be able to find some other Xbox One users to ask.  I don't think some folks would mind testing for you.

If anyone tries to flame you for it, screw 'em.  Don't rage and if you need to, the ignore list is a wonderful feature for the forums.  Try to focus on the answers that might help you.   ;)

I don't let people on the internet bother me at all, so no worries there. As for consoles as a whole, I really wish we could mod them like PC but that's illegal or something and I'm not exactly sure why. Skyrim was big on mods and as a console user, I felt left out.

And for hunting tier 3 schematics, just go to the place where you get the suledin blade or however you spell it and do the chest farming technique. That is when you leave one item in a chest then fast travel away then come back. I've got dozens of good schematics that way.

It's a little off-topic, but I know that some games do have mods for console.  The problem is that getting to the game files on console is a lot more difficult than editing files on the PC.  That's the reason more often than not.   I never played Skyrim, so when folks go off about Skyrim mods, I generally tune them out and post about whatever thread topic it is.

That's part of the point of the thread.  I'd like certain choices and things available without feeling like anyone needs to mod.  Particularly bug fixes.  If I may be blunt, it was bullshit in Awakening and it's still bullshit ~5 years later.

I want the superior prowler armor schematic, which should apparently be purchasable from the hissing wastes merchant with the right perk, but apparently there's also some kind of trick to it because it won't just show up after getting the perk. It's never appeared for me.

It's a perfectly reasonable nitpick. Swords are iconic, and working with a weapon that doesn't fit a character can just feel off, imo.

I had a thing about the "right" weapons for both Fenris and Carver in DA2, actually. They weren't allowed to wield Great axes/mauls for very long. It had to be a Great sword. In DAI, it's Cassandra. I can't have her wield a mace or an axe for long...It's got to be a sword.  Very particular of me, I know, but that's what I get for being in it for the narrative first.
