I have personal experience with BSN romance, it's not a surprising thing to me that it happens (whether it ends well or not, or ends up lasting) in a place where people with a passion for something and common interests congregate. Not everyone has great experiences with the internet, since there are some wackos out there for sure, I've been lucky that all the people I've met on here are genuinely awesome people that I am proud to know, and still care for even after being here for over four years.

On a more serious note, I've played flirt games with some of the BSN'ers I've met and am still friends with many of them. I won't name names. 

 

But it's never gone further than that. It's almost a decent place to hang out, and occasionally vent, and even more occasionally ask for council, but never more than that for me.

His texts actually strained my marriage so since then I've tried to be very careful to stay private and not to even remotely lead anyone on.

Like some people have mentioned in this thread already, BSN couples happen more often than you think. Or should I say, dating someone that you first met on the internet. Some people are completely against attempting to date someone they originally met on a forum, and some are open minded enough. A lot of people can't handle the distance which is a damn shame because they're letting something as diminutive as that to determine their relationship.

A lot of people also say that dating someone who's not near you never ends well. But honestly, every relationship, doesn't matter where you meet them, always has a chance of not ending well.

 

At the moment I know of 4 BSN couples that have moved in together, got married and even have a family now.

 

To anyone that's in a long distance relationship, good luck and I hope it works out for the best. Just remember that confidence and determination is everything. You need to be confident in who you are and what the relationship means to you. And you need to be determined in order to maintain it.
