I actually stayed with a group of pugs in the center of the map on gold. It worked out.

 

It was geth, and there were three people covering the crate side of the map.

 

I was expecting a wipe, but it worked out.

 

So now I don't think that the strategy is hopeless. Just unwise.

I played two games on Rio last night and stayed in the middle most of the time. All you need is a bit of teamwork, people need to pay attention and cover all sides. If the team can kill quickly enough, this works out fine.

Well I have seen better traps then that, but funny non the less

It works ok on gold to stay on the center if everyone is dealing a enough damage. If things get too rough just fall back to either side. On plat I wouldn't try it though
