And Bloodbourne, Witcher 3.
Pillars of Eternity, naturally.
And Virtual Reality.
Valkyrie ... this forum needs an O face smiley.
DICE (makers of Battlefield) picking it up was the best thing that could have happened after Pandemic folded. I'm pretty exited for it even tho I will have to play only Empire/ Clones and headcannon that my Stormtrooper is quarian.
Of course, if they go the route they did in BF4 with some of the balancing and how it tries to nerf highly skilled players at seemingly every opportunity to draw in as many "casuals" as possible, I probably won't play it nearly as much as I did the originals.
Never played much Battlefield after 1943. Had a blast dominating the field with an aircraft. Going up against other aces was always extremly satisfying. It pushed me to learn precision bombing more than anything else. Really enjoyed how I went from not being able to bomb static targets in the tutorial to screaming in under AA declination and bombing the hell out of them. I got quite a few hatemails (fanmails) in that game.
Scary part is the tight window for development.
The EA - Disney partnership was announced May 2013.
Battlefield 4 was that year. More time had to be spent developing it after 'release.'
Battlefront pretty much has a hard set release date to coincide with the new movie.
Granted they already had the engine to build on, but we'll see just how much they can get done in that window. I hope it's good.
If I were EA I would:
- Limit the scope of the first release.
- Pre-announce two free content updates.
- Cosmetic DLC.
This is a good balance between the needs of the business and the need to not keep pissing off your consumer.
