As a general rule, PVP multiplayer is terrible. From a gameplay perspective, balance is usually horrendous. From a community perspective, there's too many whiners, exploiters, cheaters and griefers, and 95 percent of players are either obnoxious nubs or elitist pricks.

On the first point, depends on the game. For in casual circumstances, skill is sufficient to overcome nearly any balancing disadvantages anyway. In a competitive environment, everyone just gravitates toward the same few slightly better weapons/ tactics out of necessity anyway, so there is no advantage to be had.

On the 2nd point, that can actually be an advantage. I could never get a 364 page bait thread on here, for example. Making people mad over pointless things is funneh.

The infantry combat is mostly solid and actually quite balanced, with the exception of the DMR's being a bit underpowered and the PDWs being a little too situational (or rather, that the dedicated anti vehicle kit that is supposed to use them can just use the much better carbines, rendering them somewhat redundant). In particular, the suppression mechanic is much improved from BF3 (adding random spread/bloom because the enemy sniper missed you 20 times in a row was stupid).

I'm more concerned with all the brainless, spammable lock on bullshite and the pathetically underpowered Stealth Jets and cardboard attack helis because of the crying about the 0.1% of the playerbase who knew how to not immediately crash them in previous games. But it's apparently all good now, because literally any player with 20 hours of experience can climb into the mobile AA and dominate the entire map from their uncap.

Back in my day, we knew how to hit a heli with a SRAW/RPG and didn't complain about getting killed by better players.

Nah man Pdws aren't redundant at all, they hold a lot more ammo and have a much faster fire rate on average compared to carbines. Sure they're short range but you've got rockets for that! Pdws pretty much dominate in the mid to short range engagements especially if you know how to handle recoil. You also have the option of killing more than 3 guys without running out of ammo with them.

Dmrs have been a bit buffed since the last patch but I totally agree on the AA though. It's just soo easy to shoot down helicopters with them and it's silly powerful against anything less than a tank. I can live with the lock on stuff by using cover but the AA's got active radar missiles which don't even give a warning!

In the end it's just part of the game but like you said it won't give you the satisfaction of shooting down a heli with a rocket or a tank shell.

why.

1) Banter. I swear to God, my archer says the same 5 lines every 2 minutes.

2) Loot system. It is the same bullshit RNG system that ME3 had. "Save your money to buy this pack and you might get something!" I'm not down with that.

3) Netcode. Holy balls. My very first attempt at playing the MP was me getting loaded into a game and being unable to move. This has now happened on more than one occasion.

4) Character customization. The fact that bioware premade all of my characters and doesn't let me change anything in order to give them "personality" already has me hating the character.

BioWare got a lot of free passes with ME3 because it was their first attempt at a cohesive online experience, however I can see a pattern in DA:I that implies they'll stick with a successful model like ME3 even though it was incredibly broken.

I wish Bioware would just stick to singelplayer. I know they won't because the multiplayer is a gold mine, but I would've been fine with ME3 having no MP if the singleplayer experience was even better.

I wish BioWare would take a concept like Destiny and give it some oomph.

Never played it. I've heard some wonderful things and not-so wonderful things, but I've no opinion one way or another. What specifically would Bioware be able to do to make something like that stand out more?

They could give it substance. It's an open world game with basically limitless potential that Bungie didn't take advantage of. The story is absolute garbage, but the gameplay elements are there and beautiful.

They delayed this week's balance changes because everyone is playing Bloodborne.

Next week's will be delayed for Pillars of Eternity.

Special not the Pillars of Eternity delay will most likely be extended for several weeks.

I wish BioWare would take a concept like Destiny and give it some oomph.

That game drives me crazy.

So many things about it I like and so many I hate.

A Mass Effect raid would be pretty great.

Accurate.

And I have played it. Extensively.

Don't know if Bioware would be a good company for that. Bioware is more about characters and lore than stories. We went from Robo-Deities to Dark Energy to Star Child over the course of three games. Granted, complaints about the characters and acting was something I heard about Destiny, so that could still be useful.

Trust me. Just trust me. Since you've never played Destiny, you don't understand how well BioWare does stories.

As far as game developers go? Bioware's better than most, I know that. Is Bungie that awful at writing? Should I go to the Destiny wiki for a plot synopsis, or is it better just to spare myself the pain that it'll cause trying to understand it?

I would have suggested Bethesda but I don't want a silly shooter game taking time away from something as glorious as a new Fallout or TES. :P

I wish I could get more into it, but I don't have time to expalin why I don't have time to explain.

Destiny is really weird with story.

For the most part there is no story and what is there is told poorly. There's not a single memorable character in the game. The main plot synopsis wouldn't be worth the minute it would take to read.

The story of the Vault of Glass is fantastic. Almost none of it is told in-game.

I haven't watched this video, but hopefully it doesn't suck.

But if we're talking about story.

But Science is a Religion at this stage.  "Give us one free miracle and we'll explain the rest" - isn't that how it goes?

(I'm not religious btw, just pointing out that science can explain the how but never the why.  I subscribe to 'Maybe Logic', as espoused by the late, great Robert Anton Wilson, which pretty much rejects the very concept of facts, singular truth or objective reality, except when it comes to speccing Ballistic Blades on a Batarian Soldier, obviously.)

It's not that Bungie employs a terrible writing staff - it's that they fired the guy that did the original story and then crafted a completely BS story at the last minute. Though the fact that the story was so easily changed as late as it was in the process leaves room for concern. I wouldn't bother with the synopsis.

ACTUAL LINE IN THE GAME.

And the voice acting leaves so, so much to be desired. Basically everything that makes a game memorable needs work - they've got the groundwork, but nothing to back it up.
