It's subjective. I personally prefer sniper rifles on my infiltrators because I like to keep enemies at range and SRs work great at reaching out and touching people. People with more aggressive playstyles would do better with a shotty though.
Whats better? An infiltrator with a snipe or an inflitrator with a shotty?

Who says I cannot be aggressive with a sniper? Shove that Javelin barrel down the throat of the baddies, babby! ![]()

I generally prefer shotguns overall, but my Sniper Rifle rail amp to Shotgun rail amp ratio is something like 255 to 20. ![]()

My GI always carries a GPS too when I'm doing the Javelin weapon challenge. Cause you never know where you might end up...

This. Part of being a good sniper is learning to deal with CQC with your weapon. If you're great on open maps with long sight lines and time is on your side that's great but when you draw glacier and get blitz enemies like Derperus you need to know how to no scope and quick scope.

Yeah, I never bring a back close quarter weapon when using a single shot SR either, as anything too close get's pure quick scoped (something further away I will take some extra time scoped in to fix my aim for a headshot if possible). As even if do shot a blank, cancel reload gets you off another shot right away.

Mine are:
fqi/BW
mqi/claymoar
gi/talon
huntress/PPR or bw
Vanilla/whatever
GAH I hate it when rarely used acronyms come into play, please just spell it out sometimes.... What the heck is PPR or BW? I always think of bioware when BW shows up...
also I am curious, what is the Raider?

Heh, it's like alphabet soup in here sometimes, took me ages to get the hang of the abbreviations, and it was only today that I twigged that "CC" means "crowd control". It's when the abbreviations are overloaded that things get really confusing, "AR" is both "assault rifle" and "adrenaline rush", and both meanings may simultaneously apply to a human soldier build.
BW: Black Widow
PPR: Prothean Particle Rifle
Raider: AT-12 Raider. Close-range shotgun with two rounds in the clip, fires both shots as rapidly as you can spam the trigger.
In answer to the original question: snipers for me, though I don't claim they're "better", only that I prefer them.

I would not be a good person to be involved in this as the only infiltrators that get any use out of me are the ones that are best played without either a shotgun OR a sniper rifle.... The Shadow (which is really a tech vanguard) and the Huntress (which is a stealth adept)....
I am beginning to think that the categorization of classes is directly based on one specific power in the classes and not what they actually do...
For example, a Justicar could almost be a sentinel, but it doesn't have tech armor per say... N7 shadow SHOULD be a vanguard, N7 Paladin SHOULD be an engineer... Asari Huntress SHOULD be an adept...

Lol yeah that too. You don't really have to choose since most of the best sniper rifles are shotguns anyways.
