Is there a way?

Thank you.

There's a file, fontfamily.xml, which you should find in the game's install folder > UI\default, which controls the font sizes.  I don't recall offhand which one handles the feedback window.  You could also install my interface mod (Nexus / Vault), which includes larger text and larger windows all around.

here's a bit more detail:

these 2 .XML files

defaultchat.xml - this is the chat window
fontfamily.xml - these define all fonts the game uses

if you copy defaultchat to \Override or \ui\custom (i use the latter but both should work, as well as other places...)
and look inside for the UIText element "repliestext", you should see

fontfamily="Default"

or something like that. Now look in fontfamily and find UIFontFamily "Default". Four 'style' types are defined for each family; find one with a bigger pointsize and replace "Default" in defaultchat w/ "NWN1_Dialog" for example. If you want to change style within a family, add

style="2"

for example, after the fontfamily parameter in defaultchat. ( 'style' defaults to 1, if not spec'd )

Or try out Tchos' windows. they look pretty good

Ok, thanks - it worked! :)

I didn't think any of the actual UI mods changed the font size of the feedback window, not by default anyway?

Another Q, if you guys don't mind:

Do any UI mods increase vertical space (ie, length) of the character screen panel so that you can see more buffs and status effects? The NWN1 panels "dragged down" to vertical limit of screen, and I sort of got used to that (meant you didn't have to use scroll bar as often).

(It seems like Tchos' mod extends them a little, but not quite enough for me. Will see what I can come up with myself.)

As far as I know, no one else's UI mod has extended the vertical height further than mine, though it's true that they could be taller.  I went taller for things like the quest journal and the companion portrait column, taking up nearly the entire height at 1920x1080.

Not sure if you were asking this, but yes, my mod makes all of the fonts bigger.

find the .Xml, make a backup, then tinker around with various "height" and "y" values .. very time consuming for the more complicated scenes.

hint: set "idleexpiretime=1.0" in UIScene at the top, then just close and reopen the window a second later instead of reloading the game to see changes saved in the Xml file.

ok, that sort of worked - except only the border lengthens, not the internal panel. Nevermind, I have no time to commit to modding, so I'll just reinstall Tchos' mod and be done with it.

Problem I have with it (other than UI panels not being "longer") are the portraits on the portrait bar and in the character screen; their aspect ratio is incorrect - or is it just the ugly elongated panels making them seem so? (either way, they look uncomfortably squashed in there)

Can a Gann expert tell me if he looks like he hasn't been eating well?

Sorry to be picky, but if I'm gonna spend lots of time playing NWN2 it has to look right to me... :)

Vanilla aspect ratio and panel length (no Tchos):

Ideally (for me, at least), the companion portraits would have the added graphic to prevent distorted elongation, just like in the PC's char screen:

And the side portraits would be squares rather than rectangles, just like vanilla.

(I'm using Tchos' mod, anyway, as the pros outweigh the cons..) ;)

The optional files on my mod page include portraits of the companions in the new aspect ratio, and you're expected to want to use a custom portrait for your own character as well, as in NWN1.

Gotcha.
