Acting like a child over it isn't gonna make Bioware do it faster

Well, Bioware created the bug. To correct an harmless exploit THEY created, they punished ALL their customers. The normal human reaction to such behavior is not to be a crybaby, but to jump at the face of the guy and tear his nose with the teeth. I wait for the 10th patch that will totally destroy DAI...

I only have patches 1 and 2, so I don't have this problem. But ironically, neither do I take advantage of this exploit.

Well... I took advantage of the loot farming part of the exploit in order to get the battlemage coat schematic from the Temple of Sulivin, but that's it.

I've earned the right to be childish! Plus, being a serious adult gets tiresome after a while.

Good for you! How would you like it if a game developer took out something you liked about the game? You probably wouldn't like it would you? And then you'd make a post about wanting it back, and then other people would be like, "I've never used that, so it doesn't bother me", and then you might be annoyed.

I don't like amulets of power. I liked tomes in DAO. They were rare, could be used on anyone, they felt like a commodity.

Amulets of power can be used by one specific person who just happens to be in your party, they're freakish everywhere (seriously, everyone in thedas must have one) and they don't feel the least bit special.

I'd much rather have 5 amulets that work on anyone and I have to choose the recipient, then 30 that work only for one of my men and I just happen to find.

It's actually really silly.

But it's ea, so they probably figured picking a user to get the extra points would overwhelm our tiny ineffective brains, and we'd sit there staring at the screen as drool runs down our chins until we starve to death trying to pick.

Actually, I do use the amulets I find and/or get as rewards.  Thing is, if they were not supposed to be drops, and that BUG got FIXED, which is how I see it having gone down, then Bioware is.... *drumroll* ... fixing bugs.  People usually whine when bugs don't get fixed, so for the life of me, I cannot comprehend all this angst over a bug getting fixed.

ANd btw, you will note I didn't actually reply to YOUR post.  I was replying to Keitaro57's post where Keitaro57 had to audacity to claim to speak for me by claiming that, and I quote "they punished ALL their customers."  Well, I'm a customer, and I wasn't punished, so to claim to speak for me was unacceptable and I called Keitaro57 on it.  I was not actually addressing you.

They didn't fix any bug, they only removed amulets of power that were supposed to be there, and created a bug in the process of fixing a non-bug, that removed all droppable amulets of power. Maybe you should do research before you comment? You'll look less foolish that way.

Oh, I apologize then.  I missed the Bioware announcement where they said they "only removed amulets of power that were supposed to be there, and created a bug in the process of fixing a non-bug, that removed all droppable amulets of power."  I'll try to be more diligent in the future on keeping up with their press releases.  I'll take your word on it that said statement is indeed on their blog or official twitter account somewhere.

I exploited the shiit out of the tomes.

EDIT: for two posts up

Maybe, but you don't look as good in a nurse's outfit.

You still don't get, though, that my first post was not at all in response to you but to someone else's attempt to speak for me without my permission.  As far as your claims, your first one about the patch notes is just you interpreting something as you want.  The EA thing might actually have merit, but I'd have to read what it said and who said it.  Regardless, I still think the angst over the  amulets has been nigh on ridiculous.

Well, you ARE an EA customer. You ARE ripped off of almost all amulets of power : Now, you can't have as powerful character that you builded before the patch. In a high-level difficulty run, it can prove problematic.

If you are fine with part of the game ripped off, fine with you. Open your doors and let everybody steal all your belongings IRL if you want, you'r free. But right now, the game is limited by the new patch for everybody. You get a limited game, like everybody.

So you're moving goalposts from "punished" to whatever else you want to claim we ALL are now?  Listen, rant, whine, get all angsty, it's no skin off my back.  But don't claim to speak for everybody, because that's what chaps my hide and it's the only reason I wanted to comment in this thread to begin with.  Use phrases like "many of us" or "some of us" or something similar, but please quit claiming to speak for us ALL, because you simply do not.  Period.

I seriously doesn't understand at all what your point is.

EVERYBODY get their amulets of power loot ripped off. It's a new bug created by their fix about a dupe glitch used by a minority of players.

I can't say that you are not punished by Bioware for a dupe glitch, because you are. If it rains on my whole city, I can't say that a single house stay out of rain.

Well, I can say that the people that doesn't downloaded the patch are not in the same group, but I'm talking for those who downloaded it, hoping for better performance, and get new glitches. As an old-gen user, I get more and more glitches, bugs with each patch and less and less playable part (no companion sidequests or justice trial for exemple). So, when I get even less content for my game I'm furious. And the fact that everybody else suffer from this new problem made me even more furious.

If you want to turn a blind eye on Bioware mess, okay.

I exploited the shiit out of the tomes.

That's your choice, I never use exploits in games... feels like cheating, and if i can't win without cheating, what's the point?
