So in DA:I we get to meet Hawke again which was super cool, and a little later on you do a War Table mission about finding The Warden, and it got me thinking, wouldn't it be awesome if they made an expansion about The Warden/Warden Commander (If your warden didn't survive Origin's). IN the expansion you get to recreate your character and give him a voice and what not, and your companions would be a mix of all the companions The Warden has had over the year (Origin's, Awakening, Golems, and Witch Hunt) that way you can see what everyone's been up to since you last saw them. I think this would be a great way to bring back The Warden again and also see what's happening with the Breach from another perspective. The DLC should also start with a little Origin story similar to the first game but only the Origin's are pre set according to how you played the first game, for example if you romanced Morrigan, had the OGB, and went through the mirror then the game starts with you saying goodbye to them before setting off on your new adventure. Shortly after the game starts the Breach happens and it just adds on to what your trying to do. I'm not gonna lie though one of the main reasons I would love to see this is because The Warden was my favorite MC in Dragon Age so far and would really like to play as him one more time before he shows up as some NPC. But that might just be me. Tell me what you guys think and if you have similar ideas, or disagree with mine. Would love the feedback.

I actually love this idea as well. The warden was my favorite followed by the Inquisitor. Hawke was some good and some bad, mostly bad in DA I. I don't know if Bioware would actually do this but its a good idea. I guess we'll have to wait until the first DLC for DA I comes out to see what it about.

I'd definitely like to take control of the Warden for a side-story again and see this Calling cure quest first-hand, maybe get a decent bit of closure on them, but sadly the chances are looking pretty slim at this point. ![]()

It's a great idea and BW could do some kind of DLC and charge an insane amount and I might still buy it. But I almost wholeheartedly believe they don't want to bring the Warden back despite all the crying for them to. The letter we received at the War Table was probably the most we'll get. After that we might just get a mention of their death or something else equally heartbreaking so we stop asking.
Also (me being a pessimist) the moment we do get something, the majority might not even like it, feeling that it changes/restricts too much of the Warden they made.

I doubt we'll ever play as the Warden again. At best we can maybe hope for a cameo in a sequel. But playing as the Warden again in a expansion would be awesome.
I would hope though that if we are in the Warden's boots once again, that the quest for the cure to the taint would have consequences. It shouldn't be an easy 'win' where the Warden gets to save himself with no price to pay. If we get an expansion on that quest there should also be a valid reason for having the Warden choose not to do it. Basically it should be like the well decision from DA:I.

The warden is never going to be a playable character again, unless some years from now they decide to reboot the whole series. In which case it would still technically not be that same warden. I don't understand why so many people can't just accept that and move on, but I suppose holding on and being disappointed over and over again must have some value I'm unaware of. -shrug-
I loved my wardens a lot, and I had great hopes to see them again for a while, but I think at this point it's pretty clear it isn't going to happen. Good luck to those who choose to hold on to hope though I suppose.

Considering how they butchered Hawke...why not ? Lets get the warden scrapped for good as well! ![]()

Deadman Greatly Disapproves. I'm sorry but i'm done with the Warden i get why people are connected to theirs i do but their story is over why try to bring them back? Look what that did to Hawke S/he is stuck in the Fade now or Alive in the Anderfels. So no i feel the Warden shouldn't come back for the simple fact i don't want to have to choose between them and Some random character/ A loved Character/ A character you can save and lose the loved character.

The warden is dead and gone. Remember her heroism, but accept her fate.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the great feedback, and say I'm glad I'm not the only one that would really like to fill the boots of our wardens one more time. Hopefully bioware will eventually do it.

I really like the idea but the way you posted it. Having the Warden as a playable character. A Warden cameo like they did with Hawke will simply destroy the good memories for most of us.

The Warden could be dead. It would be a spit in the face to those who made that happen

No way would I want this.
They screwed up my Hawke with his cameo, giving him views completely contradictory with those i'd established in the previous game.
And even with a simple letter they made my warden act way out of character. I would rather he not show up again unless I control him or something, Bioware wouldn't do my Warden justice, they'd botch it

SPOILERS TO FOLLOW
Initially I was in the "leave it alone" camp. Even when my Inquisitor talked to Morrigan and she gave the post Witch Hunt run down of what they did I was ok with not opening it up. To those telling others to let it go, it isn't their fault. They were given reasonable evidence to believe it will be opened up again, not by internet speculation or head-canon, but by evidence from the writers themselves. They opened it up again with the "Out trying to find a cure for the Calling" then the "Weisshaupt went quiet" then this... http://kotaku.com/pl...quis-1674596270. It seems to me that they are hinting at a big Warden event coming in the future.
The events with the Wardens clearly demonstrate that The Calling can be used to manipulate them to do incredibly stupid things, and The Calling is going to play a big role in future events. Plus they are drawing connections between the Elven Gods and Old Gods (Astrariums), and once again this all ties back to the Darkspawn. Which inevitably ties back to the Wardens...and either the HoF, Alistair, or Loghain (I don't think it's possible for all three to be dead) are the most important/senior Wardens still kicking. So I think Bioware is setting up a Warden expansion or Warden's being huge in DA4.
I think it isn't good for Bioware to keep having new player protagonists from a narrative standpoint. With every new protagonist introduced, hundreds of variables slip away from the writer's grasp. I think the three we have now are solid (and two can even be dead), because if they continue the way they are PC's actions are going to be dictated less and less by what the player wants them to do, and more by what the writers need them to do. Hawke could have only 6 personality variations (Nice, joker, mean, then mage/templar), no matter what players did, and the Inquisitor seemed incredibly similar to me.
Last of all, from a narrative standpoint. The Inquisition's story is far more complete than that of the Grey Wardens. They were established to end Mage/Templar war and kill Cory (such a flat antagonist...note how early characters start talking as if his defeat were inevitable) and that's been accomplished. In terms of the Grey Wardens, their organization in the south is in shambles, their base has gone silent, and their are (maybe?) three blights left. So honestly, I can't blame anyone who feels as if their HoF's story is incomplete, because the events of DA:I reopened the Grey Warden narrative and the HoF is still most player's window to finding out where it's going.
I honestly think the best shot they have is an Awakening size expansion that puts it all to rest. What cross class combos they were and whether they are voiced is all semantics and is bound to not please everyone. BUT, leaving so many dangling plotlines is bound to please no one.

...and either the HoF, Alistair, or Loghain (I don't think it's possible for all three to be dead)
It is. Either Alistair or Loghain dies at the Landsmeet, the HoF then makes the sacrifice, then the survivor of the Landsmeet later dies in the Fade. All three dead in one world state. With the extra possibility that all the Awakening Wardens are either dead or missing in action too, on a particularly "bad ending" playthrough.
This outcome (all three of the big names dying) does still leave room for Stroud to be alive, though, in all fairness.
They opened it up again with the "Out trying to find a cure for the Calling"
The biggest strike against the notion that this here was supposed to be foreshadowing to DLC is that the Orlesian Warden-Commander did not get this "opening" at all in Inquisition. The letter, the search for a cure, none of that stuff ever shows up. In a US world state, this subplot doesn't exist at all. That's a pretty poor way to set this up as a premise for DLC - if they ever intended this "cure for the taint" line to be anything more than a throwaway excuse to send the HoF far far away into obuscurity to never return or be heard from again, it's been set up really badly across different world states. There's just no lead up to it for half of the player base out there, if it comes up on DLC now, it will have literally come out of nowhere.
Going even more basic on the premise: let's see the DA Keep give us US players at least a tile where we can select the race, gender and class of our Orlesian Wardens first. As they are now, the Orlesian Warden is barely a character at all, despite their admirable deeds of rebuilding the Wardens in Ferelden from zero and potentially defeating one of the ancient magisters before the Inquisitor was a thing. Once we have evidence that the OW still exists in the world, we can talk about them being a replacement for the HoF on possible future games/DLCs. Chances are not looking good, though - that one nameless prisoner who dies five minutes into the game has like six tiles at the Keep to determine his irrelevant fate; the Warden-Commander who's been leading the Wardens in Ferelden for the past nine years doesn't even get a text box namedrop.
