This is an awful idea, because either the writers will take over with the character's writing, and they have no way of knowing how to do that while accurately reflecting the way we RP'd him or her (and will likely fail more often than not) -OR- the player would be given the controls, which would fail because the RP mechanics do not support creating a character with more personality than a wooden plank.

I think what spawned all of this is how they keep dragging the LI's back.

That's definitely a part of it, yes. I really hope they stop bringing Leliana back because of it.

Weekes is now head writer and he's stated that he isn't interested in bringing the Warden back, especially in terms of how people received Hawke in Inquisition. Many probably would not like how he'd take the character.

I thought hawke was well, recived on the most part. The most complaintss were about default femhawke looking wrong, and the blood magic thing( which was explained in cut content).

Deadman Greatly Disapproves. I'm sorry but i'm done with the Warden i get why people are connected to theirs i do but their story is over why try to bring them back? Look what that did to Hawke S/he is stuck in the Fade now or Alive in the Anderfels. So no i feel the Warden shouldn't come back for the simple fact i don't want to have to choose between them and Some random character/ A loved Character/ A character you can save and lose the loved character.

I hope we get the option to put the Warden through a meat-grinder.

I have a better proposition . . .

Pretty unlikely, which I know disappoints some folks, but I have some pretty serious concerns about making a character who had no voice suddenly have one. It feels as if it will be dissonant. The Warden is and was an awesome character, and I don't want to risk "wrecking" those memories, even unintentionally.

So in DA:I we get to meet Hawke again which was super cool, and a little later on you do a War Table mission about finding The Warden, and it got me thinking, wouldn't it be awesome if they made an expansion about The Warden/Warden Commander (If your warden didn't survive Origin's). IN the expansion you get to recreate your character and give him a voice and what not, and your companions would be a mix of all the companions The Warden has had over the year (Origin's, Awakening, Golems, and Witch Hunt) that way you can see what everyone's been up to since you last saw them. I think this would be a great way to bring back The Warden again and also see what's happening with the Breach from another perspective. The DLC should also start with a little Origin story similar to the first game but only the Origin's are pre set according to how you played the first game, for example if you romanced Morrigan, had the OGB, and went through the mirror then the game starts with you saying goodbye to them before setting off on your new adventure. Shortly after the game starts the Breach happens and it just adds on to what your trying to do. I'm not gonna lie though one of the main reasons I would love to see this is because The Warden was my favorite MC in Dragon Age so far and would really like to play as him one more time before he shows up as some NPC. But that might just be me. Tell me what you guys think and if you have similar ideas, or disagree with mine. Would love the feedback.

No.  It'd be like re-opening an old wound... If you want to replay your warden again, just boot up DAO... Game worlds need to evolve and progress...

No one ever really explains how the game would account for the character's skillset and level. Starting with a noob-level Warden just seems really ridiculous. Like c'mon, you're a veteran of the Blight, forged in the crucible of a battlefield bathed in the filth of a million darkspawn. Surely you should have more than just a paltry handful of abilities.

First off I agree that the Warden shouldn't return as an NPC that would be bad. But on the note of him having a voice in future games, technically in DA:O you could choose from like six voices and all of them sounded pretty similar. The only difference was the tone in which he talked. So if you where to give him a voice in this DLC (Which will probably never happen but lets just say) all you would have to do is give him a british voice actor and then in the dialogue wheel just have a Diplomatic, Neutral and Aggressive options which would most likely solve that issue. As for the character Levels, the game should like read if you played DA:O and if thats the case you start at like level 10, and then for every DLC that it reads you have then you gain like five levels off the bat. I dont know if this system would work but it's just an idea to even out your character.

I think being able to bring back something like this would be evolving and progressing, not the game world itself, but the worlds of video games in general. To be able to bring back a character and for them to have an actual player-created history in an evolving, changing world would push video games further than just building it from scratch with some different codex messages thrown in. Even Witcher 3 is making a lackluster work around for player choice, nobody does these better than Bioware, and they need to be the ones to push the bill takes risks and see how far they can take it. People get so frustrated with them because always seems like they cop out when they have these kind of opportunities. They have the Keep and more powerful consoles (and maybe PC's could track all of this stuff beforehand) why not push it as far as it can go.

I know there's another guy on here who is quite peeved about the Morrigan/Flemeth/Kieran scene and the Inquisitor being a giant third wheel (luckily mine used the Well so it fit a little better...). The big RP, character building payoff is making your character live with the consequences of the choices they made. I want my Hawke to be hunted for sympathizing with rebel mages, I want to see my Inquisitor's actions as a result of being bound by Mythal, and I want my Warden to play his incredibly prominent part in the larger Morrigan/Flemeth game. At what point do choices end and consequences begin?

This has been the biggest issue for me..
I wouldn't mind having the HoF/Awakenings Warden show up in the Deep Roads/Darkspawn DLC to kick some butt one last time even as a NPC.

Just show up, and go to his/her Calling by the end. A sad but inevitable life of a Warden who survives long enough. It would wrap it up and move on to another part of the continent in DA4. No strings attached. No one could deny that he/she has to follow the Calling sooner or later. For my Warden, his Morrigan and child would be sad but they knew it was coming.

As it is right now, the HoF is trying to eliminate one of the hallmarks of being a warden. Extending his/her existence which is further complicating how to finally put the character at rest. Unless they just quit mentioning the Warden and leave the Warden companions/romances in the south for DA4, it will always bother me that they never wrapped it up because it would wreck people's memories and headcanon.

Now.. they added a string. Did the Warden ever find the cure? It isn't so much for just his/her sake but the world state having Wardens with no Callings for future games. It wouldn't bother me if the warden was an NPC like Hawke but with an added "personality" slot. And..letting the Warden on the farewell forever train at the end of DLC for the Calling. Of course, if your HoF was the U.S.. replace with the Awakenings warden. Darkspawn,Dwarves, and the Warden wrapped up nicely for Deep Roads.

Then again, just my opinion.. Bioware, I guess I got to hand it to you.. you don't want to hurt any one's feelings so no Warden. It's bittersweet.

Good things bioware is smart and knows that knows that would end only badly and many people don't know what they want. I still remember revan "we want revan back" *revan was brought back* "wtf is this s***"

That would be a very nice! It would give us about 13-14 hours of a sidestory where we can fully recreate the Warden, get used to the voices available and have a good reason to see our former companions again.

I'm definitely for this kind of expansion. Not sure if it makes a lot of sense if the Warden died (as the orlesian Warden-Commander has no real reaosn to search for a cure), but it could perhaps just be playable if the Warden is still alive in a world state.

Even though it would be hard to let go of the Warden, this could be a solution. The Warden's final battle should be epic and dramatic though with proper camera, not that little weird "death" scene Hawke/Stroud/Alistair/Loghain got.

If voice is an issue, they could just make the Warden mute, from the Taint or from a wound.

In fact I'd like to see a witch hunt style DLC with The Inquisitor, Morrigan, the Warden, and Zevran or some placeholder character, where they pool their knowledge and findings to fix the Calling. Either that, or they find it's impossible, but find out where the calling comes from and what the Old Gods really are.

The DLC would be massively overpriced, of course, and I'd be forced to skip it because we shouldn't support being exploited.
