The best thing to do would have been to use the live support option within Origin itself. I've never had a problem with doing that, and is what I suspect Fidite was talking about.

The BioWare forums are intended for discussion and not customer service, so EA doesn't really pay attention to it. The EA Answers forum seem to be intended as more of a "players helping players" forum rather than a dedicated customer service thing.

In either case, it's still better than the embarrassment that is Steam's customer support in my opinion.

i'm only good with forum's, that's why i post issues on forum, they should make support forum where Bioware team helps people

Steam charges me in USD rather than CAD which isn't necessarily better. Don't know how they handle European pricing.

Poorly! I am now beeing charged in NKR which is Norwegian Kroner and it is just absurd. I have actually bought a few games on Origin instead of steam lately, like Kingdoms of Amalur which is 1/4th the price on Origin compared to Steam.

I don't know about you guys, but why is steam so much more accepted than Uplay and Origin? I personally don't like any of them. The lesser evil is currently Steam.

Again, Bio couldn't help you with Origin, since Bio didn't make Origin.

Why is Steam the lesser? Aren't they the ones currently overcharging you?

Mostly because it has more selection and it is a 3rd party, they aren't developing or releasing much from Valve anymore, which is a shame. But Dota 2 is a good example of forcing you to use the client. I forgot to mention Gog ofc, which i use as much as i can.

I can't directly compare the two, since I've never Had to contact Origin's Customer Service, but Steam's is pretty bad. You're better off just Googling a solution to your problem and hoping it works.  <_<

The one time I had to contact EA's Customer Service they were very helpful.

I'd brought a game and didn't get a game code in the E-mail I was sent and there was no game code on the game tab on Origin.

The Guy sorted the matter out in a couple of minutes giving me the code that was on my profile at their end.

B) Have to disagree on principle because we would not want one party to monopolize all digital game distribution.

Tell me... would you abandon your refrigerator and just pay your neighbor to utilize theirs?

That's essentially what you are proposing here.

As of now, I rather deal with Origin than whatever the hell Ubisoft and now Rockstar Games are forcing onto us for their released games. In honesty, I wished EA never got their nickers in a wad and withdrew from Steam. I like having all of my PC games under one hub where I have hundreds that, yes, I really have, played and stored at. I was telling a co-worker how much I love selling the digital steam cards online. Merely only receiving only digital pennies does sound ridiculous. But one year I must have had a total of $40 in my steam wallet after accumulation. And with the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games, I would have $10 alone. Hell, my wife playing Sims3 and all of it's content, could almost buy another expansion or get something discounted. Yes refund policies, yadda ya, but Steam has more to offer and will continue to offer more than what Origin can dream of.....Also, Origin has a tremendously idiotic way of dealing with pre-loading and reinstalling games even if you re-copy all data back to thier folders. the Sims 3 is a NIGHTMARE to deal with.

Overall, Origin is better than how it started, but still an annoyance to deal with. Did anybody read of the Battlefield Hardline hardware DRM isue today? It's that spit that makes me a proud Steam user through and through. The only reason I bother with it is when Battlefield content is cheap, a new  GOOD Dragon Age is released, and to replay the Mass Effect trilogy.  Other than that, it's the bench warmer.

Whenever I hear of DRM issues my first thought is "It's a good thing I buy on GOG whenever possible and have a 0% chance of ever having to deal with this crap for those games".

We should just move everything over there, honestly.

You'd have to ask the card provider.

Because I live in a "Western" country I pay using a debit card. Or I could do it via paypal linked to my bank account.

Wait... so you made $10 off of the cards for four games? Man, I gotta get in on this.

I don't follow this. When does the problem come up?

I imagine a lot of folks feel that way. You have more games on Steam, so you run Steam more often. I just don't see a reason to care which one I'm running.

One thing Steam has that I would like to see in Origin, is the user reviews of the games.

Had I been able to read some of those...

This.

If anything, I generally prefer Origin, just because of Steam's return policy being non-existent.

Other than that, GoG whenever the option is a possibility.

I prefer Origin over steam thanks to customer support. I recently had a huge issue with my account and they fixed it in under 30 minutes. If the same thing happened on Steam I'd still be trying to get it fixed.

Pretty sure there's a contractual issue so it can't happen and I don't want Steam to become more of a monopoly giant than it already is. But I also hate EA. So DRM-free would be best but I know that's not gonna happen either so *shrug* I don't mind so much; I just really want EA to treat their devs better.

Patching should be optional.  Neither Steam nor Origin acknowledge this.

My experience has been that Origin itself isn't that bad. For me, EA tech support has been garbo, but Origin is okay.

My main problem with Origin mainly with localizations, in every other store I buy games (gog, steam) I always can play english version of the game. Origin forces me to play localized version without option to choose english (DA2, ME3. DA:I) I wanted to buy Witcher 3, but it only offers it in one language, while GOG and Steam have all of them. So I usually only buy games in Origin when I don't have an alternative and I can mod the language.

NO.

Steam is actually crappy in many aspects compared to Origin.

Steam has awful customer support, many of their features like Greenlight and Early Access are not curated properly and their Summer Sales has, in my opinion, declined in terms of what they offer over the years.

Origin has bad servers, excellent customer support and it has started offering big sales like Steam. Origin customer support staff also give you lots of discount codes if your problem with a game in Origin is particularly bad.

Both have DRM and both are pro-microtransactions like crazy. I don't care about the servers since I do not play multiplayer games very much anymore.

Abandoning Origin for Steam is a bad idea in my opinion because it allows Valve to create a massive monopoly which will allow them to f**k us consumers however they like. The recent paid mods debacle only proves this.

Even though my personal favorite is GOG, I say that Bioware and EA stick with Origin and let EA improve Origin further to keep the competition between online game distributors strong and healthy. That would be a victory for the end user like us.

A sensible gamer would have accounts to Steam, Origin, GOG and GMG as well as others. A rabid fanboy on the other hand will only have account to one of these services and spend their time persuading others to join them.

Screw that.
