I prefer Origin actually.

A sensible gamer would have accounts to Steam, Origin, GOG and GMG as well as others. A rabid fanboy on the other hand will only have account to one of these services and spend their time persuading others to join them.
Exactly.
Is opening another program to run another set of games that much of a hassle?
I have games on Steam and others on Origin and it works just fine for me.
I suppose if you have a 30 year old computer with 500 MB of hard drive space then it may be an issue.

No shame in selling ones soul to the highest bidder.

Prefer Origin over Steam as well, when it comes to customer support they can't be beat.
Plus you can get refunds on Origin
Plus the On the House program.
Plus better download speeds (for me anyway).
All Origin really needs is to get more games on it and they can be a serious competitor.

I would rather see Origin improve than have EA migrate its games over to Steam. Something about eggs and baskets.

Personally had no problems with Origin. For all the awful things EA have done, then Origin isn't one of them. Besides Valve needs the competition. You don't want a monopoly.

I've never had problems with Origin, either, and prefer it over Steam, even though I don't like EA.

I used the live chat on Origin when I couldn't get a game to run, and the rep. was very helpful and quickly fixed my issue (and even put up with my constant barrage of questions without rushing me). I was pleasantly surprised with their customer service.

Telling EA to drop Origins and move to steam is like telling Microsoft to drop the Xbox and move to PlayStation. It won't happen even with a huge support.
