Okay on Thursday I got my new computer, and till yesterday I was busy looking around Windows 8.1. But then I installed Steam and DAO-UE. Then I installed the mods I hat installed with my character on my old computer ... and then thought I could continue with her. But that did not work for some reason, so I manned up and started a Male Dwarven Commoner Rogue. And damn what a difference between my old and new computer. ( I am like a kid with a new favourite toy.   )

 

But this afternoon I noticed something odd in the talent menu's. Can any one see what is odd about this talent. ( I would be surprised if any one does not see it. )

Those talents have no description? There are still quit a lot of talents that do have a description, but also quit a lot that do not? ( And it is not just with my character, also with companions. ) I have no idea at the moment if all talents will work as intended without the description but I doubt that this will cause a real problem. Still it is odd that this is happening on my new computer while with the same mods on my old computer, it did not happen?

 

Now another odd thing I noticed is with a talent cooldown mod I used with success on my previous character, but with my new character it does not work at all? I even tried a few other talent cooldown mods and all simply do not seem to work?

 

BTW this is the Cooldown mod I wanted to use again, but could not get it to work again. After that one I tried a few other cooldown mods from DAO Nexus, all of them also do not seem to work. ) 

 

While I was typing this post I thought of something ... my new computer has one SSD with only 127 GB space and one HDD of 1 TB. Now to save space on the SSD I installed Steam and DAO-UE on my HDD, while the game keeps the override and such on the SSD drive. Would/could this be causing these odd things to happen?

 

Should I still get worried a bit about the oddities I described above, or should I simply stop caring and just enjoy the game again as is intended as long as it becomes clear that the talents work as they should?

Would continue playing despite the things above be wise or not?

Did you install the mods correctly?,try installing them using daupdater.exe?
Steam/Origin file integrity check?
Disable/enable Smooth edges of screen fonts? (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System -> Advanced system settings -> Advanced -> Performance Settings... -> Visual Effects)
Run in compatibility mode /& as admin?

I didn't play DAO for long but it run fine with mods on my new PC.

Sounds like something is conflicting in the mod department.???

Thank you Exaltation and Luna1124, but for the moment the choice of what I hat to do was decided by steam. It will not start up again, I keep getting a message of corrupted files. So to be on the save side I will Un-install steam and the games, and then begin the process of re-installing steam and DAO, hopefully this time around it will all go well.

 

And if not I will be back.
