Elanee was moon-eyed stalker. Kotor2 - Atton ogled Exile while she was in her underwear

I don't get people...really I don't.

Any amount of normal interest is somehow interpreted as creepy.

So a NPC watched/oogled your PC. So what?

I find that laughable given that most players I know play dress-up their favored romances and install "prettyfing" mods or just have them run around naked.

Yeah, sometimes the obvious choices are missing.

Like that quest to get the breastplate back for that ex knight? When you are confronted by the other guy you get the option to attack him, blackmail him for money, just hand over the evidence, etc... but NOT to demand the breastplate in exchange, which was what I would have gone for.
2 wrongs don't make a right and to destroy a persons career and dreams because of his past life doesn't sit well with me.

You can ask for the breastplate after you give the evidence. Not that he'll give it (at least, not to me :P)

I reloaded that quest a few times because I thought it was so weird I couldn't ask for the armor.

As an aside:
Do you play with the option to show dialogue options you can't choose? So far, it seems most extra options are perception based.

A lot of the choices seem like that this time around, a sort of "no matter what your choices are dark and grey" kind of thing that did feel forced in a number of the quests.

But then again...you have Gordy re-enacting the Christmas Story for laughs. So I guess it's not all bad.

I don't know, some of the writing is real good, but i'm starting to get that same problem I had with Wasteland 2, where the writing became a bit too fluffy for it's own good.

That said, Eder is easily the best written character in this game so far. I have never seen a Crisis of Faith done so delicately before, despite your own Watcher abilities kind of getting in the way at times.

Speaking of bugs...Raderic's Hold has a big bug where it can't be finished properly. Once, it didn't trigger it's completion, second time I couldn't leave the Hold without the game crashing.

Was the biggest bug i've encountered regarding a quest so far. A few other quests have had weird triggers as well, thankfully it's all side quests.

So I finally got my stronghold last night. It was a challenge to work through the ruins with my party on Path of the Damned difficulty, but with a whole lot of saving and reloading I managed it.  :D I haven't done anything too crazy with my keep yet, but I am really looking forward to what this game mechanic has in store.

Anyways, what is everyone's favorite class so far? I have been running my main as a chanter; easily the best take on a bard I have seen in a fantasy setting; but I have been tempted to level up my monk and see how good he would be on the hardest difficulty punching bad guys in the face.

To answer that favourite class question I'll be making a full party next game :P

I'm not sure about something concerning Raedric's Hold.

It seems I have accidentally locked myself in with the Dozens in Defiance Bay.

Crap. I didn't intend for that to happen, neither do I have a save somewhere close to redo it.

Hmm, well if I ever needed an excuse to reroll :D It could've been a little more obvious though that accepting the second quest locked me in with them -_-

Yeah, totally going to reroll: Hearth Orlan Bleak Walker Paladin. A pissed off, agressive, cruel former slave turned Paladin.

Oh I love it :D

Scratch that. Shouldn't have gone off, not worth it.

I definitely love my ranger, because the wolf with certain perks does some crazy damage. It does become a bit boring since I dont have a lot of skills - only wounding shot so far.

Aside from ranger, I really like Cipher and Druid, because variety of skills/spells plus Druid has a great animal form.

If I recall correctly

Spoiler

IIRC, you don't get shifted on any alignment scale for it. I got negative reputation for doing Raedric's bidding though.

Spoiler

Whoa, I didnt think you can do this. I kind of helped Kolsc but now Im wondering when this decision will come back and bite me in the ass.

You apparently can arrange that if you offer to give the evidence back to him (or so sayeth the Internets) but I haven't checked that route.

I was more thinking about the issue with who will rule the Guilded Vale. To me it seems like the issue turns substantially more on their plans for its future which you can't really talk about, or their varying justifications which is also not really on the menu.

It seems like I've also locked myself in with them if the quest you're talking about is the ruins one. I suppose that explains why plot related NPC dialogue triggers after that point.

They say it pisses off the other factions but I figured that was an approve/disapproval type deal. Not well telegraphed.

That is one of my "problems" with IE games. Classes like fighter, and ranger are mostly auto-attack. So you kind of just build around it and try to hit really hard and crit even harder. Not always the most fun way into a game. But then again i do enjoy it when i get it working. I find Ranger to be incredibly strong actually, with some levels and gear mind you. I do like that they have included a few more abilities here, but there are still alot of passives.

I really wanna try a Cipher after this, it gives you unique dialogue with Grieving Mother and their spells are awesome. Druid seem fun aswell. Can you choose shapeshifting form ?

Yes, its very rewarding when you get them working, agreed. I believe this part DA series got right, both fighters and rogues have a large number of combat abilities, so they are no less fun than a mage.

Cipher looks very cool. I've tried rolling a moon godlike for a Cipher. Its quite fun to see her all glow in battle. The only thing stopping me from playing Cipher all the way is I prefer to have different classes in the party, and I adore Grieving Mother, so I really want to keep her with me.

Yeah, for Druid there are 5 shapeshifting forms - wolf, boar, bear, stag and cat. I first rolled an earth godlike with a stag form, because horns :D. Then a wood elf with wolf form, she was from The Living Lands with a Hunter background, thrill of the hunt and all that, lived in the woods all her life until the forest burned. So many great customization possibilities.

So what's the deal with the Endless Paths? I'm currently on the fifth level of the Endless Paths. Is there a way back to the surface?

Yes at some levels you have a world map travel. I think there is actually one on the 5th level north-east side of the level. The deal is that its a mega dungeon that grew based on contributions on kickstarter. I think it has 15 levels, so its just a bonus really. But one of your companions has a quest in there aswell.

There's one on level 8 too. It's something that's designed for you to consistently go back to as you level up though how hard you find each stage depends a great deal on your party and playstyle.

I find small bands of very hard hitting mooks far easier to deal with than mobs.

I love the characters in Pillars. They appear bland at first glance, but become much more interesting after you spend a little time traveling with them. The banter is also very well-written.
