Super stoked for Tides too, especially since a good bit of the original Torment team had a hand in it. ♡

Currently have the game pre-loading in thje background while I wait for the patch for Bloodborne to download, why did they have to release these 2 games so close to each other? Now I don't know which to play first.

So what type of character do y'all plan to play in POE? Got your party planned out?

To be honest I kept myself really in the dark on this one, only watched some dev-diaries and a alpha/beta tester vid on character customization.
I will take some time to find the right class and then build a party around it.

As usual probably a human warrior for my 1st playthrough in RPG's, probably a tank.

This sounds pretty awesome and I'll definitely be picking it up. I'm also really glad to hear the writing is in the style of Planescape: Torment rather than Baldur's Gate.

Read some first impressions from german gaming magazines. They are very positive. A lot of comparisons with Baldurs Gate II. Wondering why there is so little hype for the game here considering we are on a Bioware forum and Baldur's Gate II is considered to be their best game by many people.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and it hopefully distracts me until the 19th May.

Looking forward to the game a lot, still waiting for my copy from the kickstarter so i can put in on GoG but haven't heard anything yet....new update should come very soon about it though.
I will rage if i haven't received it when it releases.

:') Preloading now! It's kind of super surreal that the release date is just around the corner. Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks once we get the chance to dig in!

Preloaded this morning.
I'm thinking a wood elf warrior with an Aedyr/mercenary background. Not the most creative, I know. But since I'll be new to this setting, I don't want to get to fancy. I'll save that for subsequent playthroughs .
For party members, I'm not set quite yet. But based on initial descriptions I'm thinking Aloth and Hiravias will be in my party a lot.

Oh mai geeerd, they are actually giving me the option of whether to download it through Steam or GoG? Arrrsome! Wish Red Thread would have done that with Dreamfall.

We'll see how the gameplay shapes up. I was quite sceptical at first, but that's more because they mentioned create your own companions as a feature and made comparisons to IWD.

Yeah, IWD comparisons are rarely a good sign (imo), but with Chris Avellone involved, I think it'll work out. He's got a pretty solid narrative/character record.
It's odd because I actively dislike IWD and BG, but I think here Obsidian has the potential to circumvent a lot of the issues I had with the older cRPG's.

Prob. a rogue, they seem a good mix of getting some nifty toys to play with while still not being too complex to play at least semi-competently since this is a new setting and the game's mechanics and such are still unfamiliar to me so I'll be learning as I play. Roguish types are some of my favorite kinds of characters to have as my PC and party leader, with their biggest contributions to the party being their wit, their leadership and their mouth. In battle they're not the big scary melee bruiser or terrifyingly powerful mage that can kill with a mere wave of their hand, but they cut corners and fight dirty and end up pulling their own weight by hook or by crook. There's also apparently no rogue among the available NPC's, so I won't overlap with anyone.
