Pathetic Obsidian, just pathetic. This was the last game I bought from this developer

Now that was an in-depth reason.

As a black dude, I have the right to be pissed off at something I find offensive. However, I would be overstepping my boundaries if I told the guys creating that product to remove that content from it. If it offends me then I will not play it. People might like that type of stuff but it's on them and not me

You have the same right as anyone else has to be offended. Your skin colour has nothing to do with it.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised the whole controversy started with Brianna Wu though. Poor girl didn't have it easy in a while. Ugh, GG...

Except it wasn't, though she did whine about a dev posting their own character art the day before.

The joke was complained about by someone who regularly tweets #killallmen un-ironically and an ex neo nazi. So yep, super glad Obsidian took their opinions over the many who said the joke was fine.

As to the outcome, the joke was replaced. By another that laughs at the outrage culture. For reference joke comparison

Not saying I don't but I was using myself as an example. The underlying point is that minorities can get offended but the idea of censorship is the one that irks me.

Take your feels back to tumblr, the jokes are cool and funny if I think they are.

Sorry but you can't stop people from expressing themselves on a discussions board. You can however choose to ignore my messages from now on if you don't like what I represent.

Mmm... I see... Anyways, both stories lead to his death. One way or another, people would end up offended because it aims a different group of people. In this case, it made the character sound like a total "slow" man.

Yeah, I know. A fictional character told that joke. People seem to think that represents the view of the fellow who wrote the character. You hear bad jokes in real life too. However offensive that joke was to some people, they do need to toughen up if they want to live in the real world. Like it or not, they will be exposed to a lot worse things than that joke. If the bar is set that low, they are in trouble.

I don't intend to, feels don't stop you from taking flak from people. So get a thicker skin.

That I agree on, both jokes made the man out to be the fool. Which I guess is part of the reason I don't understand the initial anger, I mean not only is the one made fun of the playboy, but it never mentions who the other person is outside of "not woman". My take was beer goggles + trap, but I guess people wanted to make it soley a trans issue?

Or you could learn to mind your own business and not try to teach lessons on people because you're just wasting your time?

How is it not? They're shitting all over the people who saved them at the edge of bankruptcy.

Looks like they kinda forgot about "our fans" as soon as money started pouring in.

A developer sacrificing its integrity by changing a part of it's game because some sjw trolls felt offended is more than enough reason to not support this developer any more. Actually I regret that I bought this game now.

So you're telling me you're going to boycott them because they removed a trans joke... Wow. They did the right thing, so why being so angry at them? At least you enjoyed the game.

LMFAO.

How does this sacrifice their integrity? How does it make it any less of an awesome game?

I don't think the joke should've been removed, but getting all upset that it's been removed is just as pathetic as taking offense to the joke.

Of course, but this is beyond the grasp of the social justice crowd who will cry bitter tears because someone said something, can't say something offensive because the special snowflake's feelings get hurt.

It's amazing to me that a pretty benign and cliche joke about a guy sleeping with a woman who turns out to be a man became such a big deal in our society. I'm guessing it's because the poem expressed shame with the experience?

Had the poem ended with him getting pegged by the unexpected surprise and loving it, I think it'd be applauded.

I haven't bought or played PoE yet, it's on my wishlist, but I'm reconsidering it now. It's not because I really care about this joke one way or the other, but caving to such backlash over a very petty issue isn't a precedent I like to see made.

Is there anything SJWs don't ruin?

I mean seriously, why do some people insist on bending over backwards to be offended?

"Here lies Firedorn, a hero in
bed.

He once was alive, but now he's
dead.

The last woman he bedded, turned
out a man

And crying in shame, off a cliff he ran."

The thing is, this little rhyme just became the most famous and most read epitaph of the game.

If I were the backer, I´d be pretty cool with it.
