Anyone want to talk about PoE before this thread gets closed?

What is the ending situation of the game like? Is it a linear affair like in BG? Or is it pretty dynamic like what we see in FO:NV?

Haven't reached the end, or even close to it yet, so no comment on that.

It seems more like BG2 then FO:NV in terms of exploration.

A little slow at the start, but I'm at the point where I now don't want to stop playing. It's not perfect, but I feel they've done a lot of good things with it.

Their always seems to be something happening, whether it be Stronghold upgrades to do, little quests for companions in the Stronghold to do.

Sidequests have a bit of a story behind them. I think because combat isn't randomized it always feels like what ever you're doing you're moving the game forward and not getting bogged down like what happens in Inquisition.

[spoiler] I was about to face it when I had a CTD. Sounds like mostly a troll fight, but then there's no real way to make a hard RPG fight without a boss with obscenely pumped stats and mobs[/spoilers]

Yeah, honestly I don't think it's that well designed a fight. It's just a trial and error while you at first figure out that you need a tank to eat the 200 damage breaths, and then figure out you need to kill the adds fast.

It's a bonus boss so I don't really mind that much. But I still think they could have made it more interesting. There's pretty much no way to defeat her without prior knowledge unless you're an expert of IE games or something.

So it was the creator of the poem that told Osbidian to pull it off

Found what causes my deflection rating to go down to 9: that screenshot I showed earlier with the bugged skill, it should detract only 3 deflection, but it detracts 43 o.O

As part of an actual ethnic minority, I honestly do wonder how messed up and empty you would have be in order for your sexuality - your one deviancy from the norm - to be your primary indentifier in life, referring to those who also like to rub their privates against those of the same gender as "your kind" as if you're somehow seperate from the rest of humanity, forced to sit in the back of the bus until some gendercidal Rosa Parks came by. I genuinely can't imagine what it must be like to live with such an easily offended tribal mindset - in 2015 no less - when there are actual issues that need addressing.

Whatever man, we all got ours own personal fights. No need to belittle others just because you don't agree with them.

It is a linear affair to be honest, but then again New Vegas just ended so it had to deliver on more than one ending. We already know that Pillars of Eternity is getting an expansion pack and then a new game.

The expansion pack is atleast. Also seen hints to them wanting to continue with this series.

The sequel isn't set in stone, but it seems like Pillars is doing well and Obsidian are making alot of money. Which is awesome.

First, let me thank the Internet and everyone in it for this "scandal" over this limerick. Still haven't really understood what happened there, but it seems like it wasted a lot of people's time and nerves. First world problems at their best, I suppose...

As for the game...still not finished. Got a bit deeper into the Endless Paths (I hope no Demogorgon at the groundlevel? Still have nightmares about THAT encounter!), Main Quest the badguy finally has a name, met a weird lady making a cameo from the Spiderman-comics it seems, killed loads of undead and supposedly encountered maybe THE Pillar of Eternity? Not sure though yet what to make of it...Oh, and infiltrated a keep, using disguises and dethroned a lord. And still haven't reached that Twin Elms area ... first another dungeon to crawl...

So much to do...and I already have to oppress the desire to start anew with another char..already searching the web fr a fitting portrait...

Til then, it seems I found my main party

Watcher - Aedyrnian female rogue (there is something about a lady and matchlock pistols!)

Eder as tank

Pallagina as 2nd tank

Sagani as archer/third diversion-tank with her fox

Durance

Aloth

THough maybe I'll change Aloth/Sagani now and then for Kana/the druid/Mother, just for variety's sake. But still don't understad what a cipher is supposed to be good at. Seems a useless class to me for now. And Aloth I also barely use, often forget his spells completely. While I can't imagine to play without Durance's cleric spells...

And here's my main complaint considering the above: Not enough variety in companions for the main classes. At least one more warrior-type and another kind of cleric, as well as some kind of rogue should be there. Creating your own chars is okay, but...it just isn't the same. In BG2 I was always planning ahead: Viconia, Anomen or Aerie as cleric? But what about KEldorn then if Viconia? Will Keldon be tank, or do I settle with Minsc? And how would Valygar fit in, because Jaheira is a must and so on and on...

I fear that replayability might suffer a bit for me due to the lack of interesting variety in companions...

The recent patch, in an annoying trend, seems to have broken some things while fixing others (and we'll put aside some of the debates on dislikes as to some of the fixes in the "adjustments"/balancing category).

People are reporting your roll-your-own chars are having trouble interacting with objects and items. I'm finding the same problem. The good news is I've decided I'm more interested in the personalities of the companions than the ones I've rolled up, so I can live with this for now.

Still, seems like we need a post-patch patch. Again. *sigh*.

EDIT: seems the problem has been hotfixed.

Now that's snappy response. Good work.

For those (like me) who want to adjust their companions' stats, here are the commands after downloading the IE mod.

find the character "internal" name with FindCharacter command ex : FindCharacter Aloth will yield you something like Companion_Aloth(Clone)_1, so this is the name that you have to use.
Skill charname skillname value - example: Skill player stealth 10 (player is what you type in when you mean your own character). Example2: Skill Companion_Aloth(Clone)_1 stealth 10. value is the number of skillpoint not the final value (ex 100 in value means 13 in skill)
AttributeScore charname attribute value - example: AttributeScore player might 20 (this is base attribute score, so sometimes you'll end up with a slightly higher score because of racial bonuses) Example2: AttributeScore Companion_Aloth(Clone)_1 might 20

The people who originally brought up the whole epitaph thing as this sort of major controversy definitely achieved one thing: I now know the original poem by heart, and will likely never forget Firedorn Lightbringer. I can guarantee you that to 99% I either wouldn't even have read it at all, or if I did wouldn't have thought twice about it.

So, urm, well done...?!

Really? That's not so bad then. I'm glad Obsidian had the guts to handle it in a mature fashion, rather than caving to the demands of a bunch of lunatics. I'm still angry at the SJWs for harassing the guy who wrote the poem, though.

I like that he changed it to mock the SJWs. He also gets bonus points for having an avatar from the Wizard Lord.

It helps a lot that they don't have a certification process, and are running the show themselves (effectively).

So what does the new poem say exactly?

Yes, I am that lazy and am a total slacker.
