Firing the old blunderbuss. There's a stream of projectiles, sure, but that accuracy debuff can really cause a mess.
Lead Spitter has an accuracy debuff? I guess the zealous aura is more helpful than I thought.

You never had a point to begin with.
I see that you understood nothing that I said in the post you quoted before throwing an insult freely at me. Fine, be that way. My point was that we each have different opinions and things to fight for. If you think belittling someone you don't agree with is the right thing to do, then you're not worth my time.

I think all blunderbusses have a -5 to accuracy, becuase they fire off the 6 shoots. Although now I'd have to double check if the -5 to DR is universal or it just comes from Lead Spitter. It might be that only Lead Spitter has the debuff b/c of the -5DR to balance it out.
I fail to see how bigotry even enters the picture here, when it's just about the preferences of the fictional person in the poem. This might be hard for you to believe, but people aren't legally or socially obligated to sleep with everyone, and forcing such a matter anyway under false pretenses may just as well be considered rape.
Killing yourself over who you slept with - especially when it's about gender in the context of IRL views on sexuality - goes so far beyond just preference it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise. People don't kill themselves over consensual sex. The implication is clear there: the person wanted to sleep with a woman, it wasn't, and that led to a suicide.
I can't even begin to guess what your reference to rape is supposed to mean. Offing yourself because of who you had sex with isn't a normal reaction, it has nothing to do with preference, and being so fucked up that an S/S hook-up is going to lead to you to suicide is a sign of some really unhealthy views that can only come from some quite bigoted sources.
"Remove X because it offends me" is censorship in its purest form, but nice try at turning things around. Even a complete stranger could recognise how blatantly you are projecting here.
No, it's not. It's a complaint. Sack up and tune out the rage, or don't make a point that will make others tell you to stuff it. It's pretty simple to get, though of course the hypocrisy of it all is that it's only the people you disagree with that are supposed to deal with it.
There's certainly project here, but it's the kind you'd only see if you're holding up a mirror.
Alright folks, enough of that, keep this ''controversy'' to the Obsidian boards please. Better yet, just forget about yet another minor incident that was blown way out of any possible proportion by both ''SJWs'' and anti-SJWs alike.
I finished the game, and my good impressions ended up being vindicated. This is probably the best RPG I've played since Dragon Age: Origins. It edges out Inquisition, even if not by that much, thanks to its superior writing, mechanics and reactivity. I have several quibbles about the title (too linear at start and finish, stats are the same for all damage dealers, talents are uninspiring, player character doesn't have a big connection to the main plot until the late game) but overall this has been a grand experience.
Obsidian took a lot of what made IE games great, trimmed out the fat that made some less great, and added in their awesome writing to make an amazing game. Bravo to them, my backer money has been put to good use and then some.
Yeah, I replayed BG2 not too long ago, and Demogrogon ain't got nuthin' on the end boss of the Paths. Sorry
.
*Headondesk* I am terrified already...not sure if I had the patience nowadays to fight Demo again ... and his two ladies ...
So, yeah, gonna warn the neighbours I suppose ... they already were close to call the police after my encounter with a certain Skaen-Priest and his posse (so far my hardest battle - until I figuered out: Retreat and reposition is doable with better timing, then doors are your friend, and Eder can tank like .. a tank!)

If you can only interpret disagreement as "insults" and "belittling", then I'm afraid this might indeed be a waste of time.

People regret casual sex and act irrationally afterwards all the time. And that's long before any morning-after plot twists enter the picture.

It has everything to do with personal preferences, as well as consent. The fucked up thing to do would be hiding such primary information from a potential partner so that he or she can't make an informed decision, effectively violating that partner's consent, body and mind. But I'm certain you already knew that much.

Cute, again with the nonsensical projection and pretending you don't know social censorship works.
I suppose it's a waste of time to educate those who purposely feign ignorance to begin with.
I think calling it stupidity is putting to much blame on the individual without account for how these beliefs arise because of society. Bigots can be victims of their own bigotry as well as victimizers, and I think it's important to recognize that aspect of the harm bigotry causes.
I think that's what the joke is trying satirize.

My impression so far is that the game is a top tier roleplaying game. I don't think its the best one out there, or that it is as good as BG2. I haven't finished the game, though, so I am not making any final judgement here.
Against my better judgment, I will reply to this one last time before abandoning the topic forever because the sheer insanity espoused in it is a bit too much:
People regret casual sex and act irrationally afterwards all the time. And that's long before any morning-after plot twists enter the picture.
I'm going to introduce you to a concept you're sure to struggle with: false equivalence. Regreting having some casual sex and acting weird after is not offing yourself.
Which leads to what is going to be my second and very consitent point in this post, namely, the absolutely insanity of suggesting that a person wouldn't be able to figure out the gender of who they're having sex with immediately.
Let's put it this way: if someone's dick is in your mouth, there is a non-zero probability you are not having sex with a biological woman.
It has everything to do with personal preferences, as well as consent. The fucked up thing to do would be hiding such primary information from a potential partner so that he or she can't make an informed decision, effectively violating that partner's consent, body and mind. There's no social censorship. We've got a major, multi-million dolar company that released a multi-million dolar product and a group of people that has absolutely zero legal power to ever prevent or otherwise affect the distribution and dissemination of a product. If you think their complaining on the internet about content counts as censorship, then you need to hit the google really hard and learn about what it means to have products actually censored. Hint: it involves a very powerful entity (usually the government, though often spurred by a substantial amount of popular support) absolutely banning the distribution of a particular item.
A neglible bunch of people on the twitter complaining about a product isn't censorship, and if you think it is, then you need to grow thicker skin and learn to deal with the backlash of putting forward a view that might upset people in a public forum.
I approve of this game!

Hmm, I'm currently replaying BG2 and NWN2 OC parallel to Pillars. So what makes people cling to BG so much and call it the best?
I do adore BG, and I replayed it a thousand times, nothing can beat a godchild protagonist. But I always play it with mods as without mods it feels rather barren. It is also probably the only game that travels from one computer to the next with me. But do I think it is the best? No. I do feel however that it is a bit overrated now.
If I don't talk about combat (which I consider secondary to other aspects of the game, personal opinion of course) I did notice several things that BG is severely lacking. For example I find myself limited on conversation choices. Torment had much more reactivity to your stats and to your choices, but it did not have races, or lots of classes, or even two genders. BG offers races and classes but it does not give a lot of conversation choices, hell its linear in everything but the areas you visit. And you can solve quests in two ways - good and evil. Pillars offers more reactivity to stats like Torment, classes and races like BG, the world reacts to your choices (you even have a reputation) and you have several ways to solve quests. For me Pillars offers more roleplay than BG ever did. I don't view Pillars in rose-tinted glasses either, but I do believe I got what I paid for - an isometric RPG which is a worthy successor to BG franchise.

Hah, the priest is horrible yes. I've restarted several times because I didn't like how he nearly wiped out my entire party. And once the battle went so well I was ecstatic only to find out in the end that I accidentally killed the girl I was supposed to save with Aloth's fireball.
I got the game a couple of days ago after watching a bit of an LP, I have to say I do not regret it one bit. I'm still quite early into the game but am already really enjoying it. XD
Speaking of NWN2, I really need to get a proper playthrough of MotB done. @_@ While the OC was fairly standard business and much like NWN1's OC (AKA nothing astounding to me personally), MotB hits a lot of wonderful notes for me. The main reason I never completed it was fighting with actual game itself (blurgh camera and such). I fully intend to complete it someday, it's just going to be a vaguely grueling experience. ![]()

Anyone here playing rogue with ranged weapons? Like guns or bows. Want to know if sneak attack has the same impact with ranged weapons and if the abilities also are useable that way. I feel the urge to play an evil rogue with bow.

I'm pretty sure all firearms have an accuracy penalty, and a degree of armor penetration. I'll have to see if it varies from weapon to weapon.

They do indeed, a ranged rogue can work quite nicely.

Damn my RPG ADD. I keep rolling new characters and am now playing a Ranger, Monk, Rogue and Cipher at the same time. I need focus
Having finished the game, I can say it was really enjoyable. Once more people finish maybe we can have a spoiler conversation about it? It tried to be a lot like PS:T in the end, and it's interesting - I thought it really captured the spirit of both PS:T and BG in how it melded the two toghether. I'm really looking forward to how the series evolves from here. It's a good time to be an RPG fan.
Hm, I'm still in Gilded Vale (Hopefully leaving soon)
