Honestly, I think the shards and avvars are such a good sign of this being all about Solas (Solasan shards) and Mythal (Tyrdda's leaf eared lover?). So excited.

You know, considering we are apparently interacting a bunch with the Avvar, I have a fear this whole legendary figure/dispelling myth thing will actually end up having nothing to do with Solas and everything to do with some figure of Avvar myth.

 

Would not put that kind of trolling past the Writers Pit.

That would be cool! I might actually prefer it to a Solas DLC. I have nothing against Solas! But in 3 games, the only exposure we've had to the Avvar has involved two statues, a handful of codex entries, and Goat-Hurler Morvan's weird clan. I wouldn't mind fleshing out my knowledge of that culture a little more.

Not necessarilly.  There was Avvar stuff in Mark of the Assassin (The Cult of the Sky stuff) and that was in Orlais.

I've been dying to get out of the same old southern setting for quite a while now, and DLC seemed like a good chance to put us somewhere new and exciting. Maybe I'm in a minority when I say I'm a *bit* tired of Orlais and Ferelden but I have a feeling I'm not.

Oh well, maybe in the next DLC.

I doubt this is about Solas, though. He has no connection to either the Avvar or winter so far as I can see, and I think any DLC involving him would have to come last, not first.

On a side note: I am excited about the Avvar thing. I always found the tribal stuff very intriguing, and I would have chosen Sky Watcher over "I am so not Qun"-Bull any day of the week.

 

P.S.: I don't hate Bull, I hate that he's unhateable. Plus we already had an awesome Qunari.

Well i don't hate him, i just dont like him and i dont see whats so great about him. He can be funny yeah,but so are other characters.

 

But i really hate how all Qunari look in this game. DA2 qunaris were the best.

Mixed feelings. Many mixed feelings.

 

On the one hand; the Avvar are a very interesting culture and I look forward to learning more about them, it's a cool focus for DLC.

 

On the other; the Avvar means we're staying in Southern Ferelden... again. This also just sounds very... hmmmm, unimportant? It sounds like fluff. I've mentioned that one of my biggest gripes with the game was the absurd number of dangling plot threads, cliffhangers, and unresolved questions. I don't think we'll be getting any resolution in Avvar DLC :/

 

Oh my GOD! Its the first freaking DLC.  How about wait until its released and then complain?

Wow out of all the directions I thought they could go with this DLC this is the last thing I imagined...unless of course it ends up being a Wolf Hunt Equivalent.  But seriously, the Dwarves and lingeirng plot lines, Tevinter, Val Royeux, and Kirkwall and they give us the Avarr?

Color me excited.

 

Maybe in a future DLC we will see...........

or at least wait until the trailer.  or synposis.  I mean these Achievements/ photos do not tell us anything.  Its nothing as meaty as...the original Achievement photos for Inquisition leaking Corypheus, or that Dragon.

If this involves Tyddra Bright-Axe I think we could find out more about Flemeth, Andraste and Mythal. Perhaps even more names for the myth. Solas and Shartan too. Here's hoping! If they tie together I think it could be a neat examination of cultural tweaks to storytelling thru the ages, which is also a nice mirror to the perceptions the Inquisitor has to deal with.
