Also agreed.

It also smells of 'fulfilling Microsoft contract'.

And if that's the case, ugh, fine. I know developers don't make all these business decisions.

Its actually easy to consider this the 'Day 1/Anti-DRM' (not exact, but to compare) DLC, in an environment that is very anti Day-1/Anti-DRM.

Filler. If you want filler, get it.

I'm just pretty blown away by it being $15 is all.

Imagine it becomes part of a bundle for non-Xbox owners and a second DLC...that will be hilarious to me.

And bad form, because it is screwing over another side of the audience.

Anyone from Northern Europe been able to buy it yet? I keep pressing that sweet, sweet "Buy Now" button but EA the greed-machine just refuses to take my money, ironically enough.

I'm in the same boat, more or less. I can see its page, and even add it to the cart, but when I move to confirm the purchase it gives me an error message.

$25AUD here in Aus. Even with the current conversion rate, that seems a touch high. Would like some opinions as to whether it's worth it at that price.

Edit: Just did the maths/light googling. Current exchange rate should put the price at $19AUD. Feeling gipped for living here. Again.

Yeah massive rip off. Nothing like being an Australian and being bent over the table for a good old price reaming.

Doesn't that happen with most games anyway in Australia? The exchange rate is really rough from what I remember.

So the name of the new location is Frostback Basin? I wonder if it has anything to do with Frostback Pass? Which was a location only known about because there was a save file during the pre-alpha video

If you go to 6:04 you can see just a single screenshot of the general look of the area. Looks very "jungle-y".

Good catch. I would be VERY surprised if The Frostback Basin isn't the Frostback Pass.

Can you travel back and forth to and from the area during the DLC or is this one of those things where once you're there you're stuck there until you're finished?

It's just a new map that you can tackle at your own pace.

Man, Idk if it's all of the gaming community or just Biowares' community, but it comes of as just whiners. From mass effect to dragon age ask I've read is just griping and moaning for the most part. They say they have no plans for single player DLC. Everyone blows up. They put out one, and what's everyone do? Whine and complain more. They are just never going to win.

Nice straw man. They never said they weren't making any SP DLC and no one was clamoring for Hinterlands 2.0.

Saw the trailer and my first reaction was: "Wow... this is just a copy and paste of everything the game already had to offer and betcha this will be a self-contained side-quest that won't affect the main plot in any way".

I think I'll pass for now as it was reported a few times by people that this is just Hinterlands 2.0.

Has nothing to do with exchange rate, rather greedy price gougers who love to screw us over. There is no reason this should be over $20AUD.

It happens with any form of electronics or media. Back when the US and Aussie dollars were at parity, we were still getting screwed royally, with justifications ranging from staff costs, to living costs, to import costs. On digital goods. From companies that don't even have local servers  <_< But that's none of my business.

You can play the game you paid for. This is DLC. You have to buy it to play it.

One advantage to playing this on Xbone is that the item duping glitch still works so you can make as much of the new crafting materials as you want. Of course, none of the weapons and armor are new skins so everything will still look the same...

I've just purchased it on Origin but still on Patch 5. Do I really need to update to Patch 6 first?

$14.99? And it doesn't even come with the Black Emporium? Forget it, I'll just wait for it to go on sale.

I've paid for the dlc.  The dlc is now part of the game. I can't install the dlc because EA/Origin doesn't recognize I've already paid for it. Thus, I can't play the game.

Stuck for 30-45 min on the chat waiting list. Thanks Origin

So Avvar religion is based on some evil dragon thing (which just looks like an ordinary dragon that's been slightly re-skinned). I have a bad feeling that this DLC will portray polytheism and 'tribal' people as backward, hostile and misguided, but I hope I'm wrong.

Well, it's self-contained to this map and it won't affect the main plot in any way... so this trailer is just a lie unless there will be an enemy introduced in it that we won't permanently kill until Dragon Age 4. In a way, this would be Legacy DLC 2.0 with a map as huge as the Hinterlands.

Orlais is the native homeland of the elusive cheese wheels. Won't somebody think of the cheese wheels?!

I'm sorry the self contained side quest bit...that does not effect the main plot...is that not like every DLC ever?  Personally I would be even more annoyed if a DLC effected the main plot.

Wait, I thought of a counter example, the Extended Cut.

Personally, I prefer add-ons like Shale that will actually influence some of the scenarios a little bit and add more party members. Imagine if this DLC came with a new companion and new party banter through the main game... That would sweeten the deal 50% for most players.

...I don't know adding companions seems to honk most players off hence why BioWare decided to not do such a thing.  And Shale, really did not effect the main plot, aside from being able to take her out to various missions.

Yeah, but the problem is that Origin won't let you play your game unless you download patch 6 (yes, they enforcing this update). The workarround is to force Origin to offline mode. But that also disables Multyplayer and DA Keep.

Looks like the DLC arriving last on PS4 is a good thing for some of us. We've realised it's a waste of money without actually wasting our money.
