Yeah, but the problem is that Origin won't let you play your game unless you download patch 6 (yes, they enforcing this update). The workarround is to force Origin to offline mode. But that also disables Multyplayer and DA Keep.

And what is wrong with patch 6, exactly?

...I don't know adding companions seems to honk most players off hence why BioWare decided to not do such a thing.  And Shale, really did not effect the main plot, aside from being able to take her out to various missions.

*coughs* The Dwarves mission says Hi. If you side with Branka and make Golems, she turns against you. She also adds a lot of flavor to that quest. I like how they put references of her through the sequels as well. Fear her wrath if you're avian. :D

All the companions added flavor to those quests.

That is what DLC companions can do, add flavor. People expect too much out of them though, like Javik...

I personally am hoping we get a few other companions through DLC, not just for a single map either, but inserted Mass Effect style into the narrative to add a bit of variety. Voice over work and character balance/specialization is probably the biggest issue in the end, but honestly...I never had a problem with any of the extra companions before, so if they become tied to a DLC in the future I would not be against it. It IS possible to do at least, however unlikely.

Nah, what honks them off is having to pay extra for something that's already in the files.

People were fine with Shale because as long as you bought DAO new, Shale was free.

And why people were not okay with Javik, because he cost $10 unless you bought the collector's edition of the game.

Really? That doesn't sound too good.

I have patch 6 it didn't ruin anything for me so far as I know. Hope it does get fixed in the end.

The Dwarven mission affected Shale.  Shale did not effect the Dwarfen mission.

Jaws of Hakkon (Bad $15 DLC)

  1. Short Story 3-5 Cutscenes (Though the ending is good)

  2. No new sequences with companions or love interests

  3. Vacant but beautiful area filled with fetch quests, busy work, a couple of Boss Fights and new enemies and some new lore bits

  4. Worth the $15 price No!!!

Worth $25AUD... obviously not.

I have a bad feeling that this DLC will portray polytheism and 'tribal' people as backward, hostile and misguided, but I hope I'm wrong.

Is this how "politically correct" BioWare's fanbase has become. Seriously?

...I don't know adding companions seems to honk most players off hence why BioWare decided to not do such a thing.  And Shale, really did not effect the main plot, aside from being able to take her out to various missions.

Having Shale in the A Paragon of Her Kind quest adds a lot to that quest. You find out more about the process of making golems and how people came to be golems, you get a lot of additional Deep Roads flavor and info, you get a dozen or more exclusive dialogue trees throughout the quest, and Shale offers a perspective on that quest that no one else does.

The consoles do that too.

It blocks mods.

blocking mods means nothing to me. If that is why people are upset...well whatever, but get over it already or wait for a workaround.

Can't download it. And all my friends too. From what i've seen, lots of other people have the same problem.

So Avvar religion is based on some evil dragon thing (which just looks like an ordinary dragon that's been slightly re-skinned). I have a bad feeling that this DLC will portray polytheism and 'tribal' people as backward, hostile and misguided, but I hope I'm wrong.

It seemed like the lady was an Avvar and a good guy

In my case, it wasn't patch 6. Origin isn't as fast as Steam, so I'd to wait an hour it to be approved. Funny how on Steam is at most 5 minutes.

The dlc is downloading now, still. <_< -_-

Anyway, sorry for the people that mod the game. Hopefully, modders will fix them soon

Good to know - I have not yet played the DLC so will withdraw my opinion if my current predictions are proven false, but nevertheless, from the trailer & achievements it seems like a key god in Avvar religion is being written to be a big evil dragon guarded by a bunch of stereotypical barbarians. If this is indeed the case then it's tiresome and insulting to our intelligence.

Nice ad hominem there buddy, but do you have an argument?

Yes. You're absurd. That's my argument. The Avvar don't exist, you haven't played the DLC, and tribal people are backward and "misguided." When your political correctness causes you to worry about how a fictional tribe in a video game might reflect how a bunch of Canadian nerds view isolated polytheistic tribes you have a problem.

799RUB?

Hello, marketing people,  would you kindly stop smoking that thing?

The whole game is 1799RUB (1999 for exclusive, 1400 during preorder).

A side quest just can't be 1\2 of a total 200 hours game. Just. Can't.

I haven't played the DLC as I have repeated multiple times, as a result I have made it clear in my posts that my opinion is derived from the trailer and achievements and thus I am willing to withdraw it if proved wrong by the DLC. The Avvar are a representation of 'barbarian' factions from real history and anthropology, thus a good writer would represent them properly rather than brainlessly stereotype them as backward and misguided (stereotypes born of ignorance). Some of us enjoy complex writing and morally grey areas rather than mindless action in which we kill hordes of evil barbarians and their gods.

Exactly. I'm mid-game and I'd jump on this for $5. If I finished the game (maybe multiple playthroughs, or maybe completionist) and I was really hankering for something to do, I'd go for $10.

But $15? For this? I'm watching a lot there, and I see nothing I want to spend that much on. Devout Bio/DA fans can go for it, have fun, but I'm going to be off in this other direction doing other things and playing other games.

good for you. This is my fav game just like mass effects and I just don't give a s**t to spend my money for this even if it was overlyexpensive! I need to have everything... NOW *_*

At last a DLC I would have liked it to be set it in the north and answer questions about the fate of the warden, hawke and tenvinter but I have two questions (1) when will it come out on the PS3 (2) will it have patches in them

I think that this DLC should be free after all the trouble Bioware gave us especially with PS3 and Xbox360 players

Okay so I know some people don't wanna be spoiled, but I would LOVED to be. Seriously, have there been any posts about what the cut scenes are? What the big mystery at the end is? Any new important information lore wise? I just wanna know. I still plan on getting it and playing myself, but I wanna know now.

So, I've seen some people suggest that this DLC is quite 'light' on content for its price. But weren't people speculating that the first DLC would be light anyway so that the exclusive wouldn't smart so much?
