Bioware, EA, whichever company is more to blame, you can take this timed DLC exclusivity BS and shove it where the sun dont shine. Yeah, yeah, we get it, you like money, but I was under the mistaken impression that you were trying to mend bridges with the fanbase. Guess not. I hope Microsoft gave you a ton of money, lets hope its enough to cover the costs when the rest of us choose not to purchase it once its released on anything other than the Xbone. Long term Bioware fan, utterly disgusted.

So in all honestly is it worth the wait for Playstation 4 players? Honest answers from PC and XboxOne players would be nice. I am hearing a lot of mix reviews but nothing too legit on what I want to know.

(Also I don't normally post here - I worry about inadvertently derailing discussions - so this will probably be my only post on the matter.)
There's no doubt about that.

The consensus seems to be, what did you like about DAI? If you enjoyed exploring the regions like Crestwood, and Hinterlands, then you're going to get more of that, with a bit of story, some difficult fights, and some new equipment and schematics.
If you were more interested in the main questline, like your companion quest, and Wicked Hearts, then it's not really that.
In short, if you like exploring the regions, then this seems to be a very good, large region with some lore, and a bit story. If you're looking for a story-focused DLC, and/or one tying into the main plot, then this isn't that.

Thanks for that sum up. What I want to know and hope you can answer is if purchasing this will affect the base game in any way? I haven't finished the base campaign yet and do not want any spoilers/overpowered gear tainting it. Is it okay to purchase now or should I wait until I've finished the main campaign? Thanks.

This is a good read.
I find the distinction between exclusive games and exclusive DLC fairly arbitrary.

Microsoft and Sonys pettiness is infuriating and disgusting, who wins in this situation? So you deprive the Destiny fans of DLC on one console, so the other company responds by depriving the Dragon Age fans of DLC on the other console, what exactly is the outcome of this? It makes the fans angry, it makes us resentful, and it makes us hate the company that is depriving us. I sure as hell have no intention of going out and buying an Xbox One, and im sure Destiny fans on Xbox One have no intention of going out and buying a PS4. So in the end you shoot yourself in the foot, antagonize potential customers, and end up with less sales in the long run.
So in short, the people in charge are IDIOTS.

Are we even sure it's being released on last gen? Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to drop putting resources towards them before creating the DLCs ![]()

I can safely say that I'd be very upset if support for last-gen consoles was dropped. I'm not trying to jump the gun here, but if that was ever going to be the case then it's information that should be have been freely available from the start, in order to allow consumers the chance to make an informed decision regarding their purchase.

Actually... how do you start the damn thing? I've downloaded the DLC, installed it, but there's no new quest, war table mission, prompt or anything I can find to actually find the new area and begin exploring it
Tried it with a few of my characters - just... nothing.

No bard songs. There's no tavern in the dlc area. And music? Not really, I mean, it's just like the regular maps in DAI. You just hear the sound of your footsteps.
This makes me a sad bear.

I spent £60 on the 360s super collectors edition of Inquisition, and if EA drops the last gen versions in terms of DLC, then not only will I be disgusted, but enraged.

With the added bonus that destiny dlc actively broke or removed core game mechanics!
DLC installed, but won't get to it for awhile. Stupid real life.

Well I will put my two bits into it
While its more Dragon Age and thats always great, this is really not what we expected. I do not mind getting into the lore of DA more, I love lore, but im sure most people will agree that after such an ending we could have at least stayed on the path of it. Learning more about the elven panthenon etc.
Not mad or anything, its still a great DLC, finally one is out
Just a tad dissapointed with how it is handled, storywise and gameplaywise.. Because more frikin shards. Honestly, please, i know you are excited for the open areas and i am not a person who hated the shards in the main game, already picked them all up twice, but do they have to be in the dlc as well? Are not DLC supposed to further the story of the game, i mean cmon, this is not Assassins Creed with plenty of useless outs of context pickable objects.
In any case, thank you for DLC, keep them coming, I am sure next time we will not just be glad its out, but positively bursting with fandom cryes ![]()

I've got a question about the DLC, that hopefully someone can answer for me. Are the schematics added locked to that particular region or were the added to the random loot pool, so I could theoretically gain some of the schematics in say, The Hissing Wastes, etc. Thanks in advance

Could be wrong, but I think they're specific to that particular region - am seeing a number of Masterwork Schematics that I've never run across in the base game (including schematics for a unique Griffon helmet for Blackwall, the Dread helmet for Iron Bull, Cole's Hat for Cole, Orlesian Hennin for Vivienne, and the Helm of the Inquisitor, along with new Tier 4 "Refined" armors that have stupidly high defense)
Anyway, as for own thoughts on the DLC, been playing for 2 hours at lvl 25 and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I initially thought I would
(huge area to explore, the Avvar stuff is interesting, etc) and I've only explored about 20% of the map. The enemies are tough as f***, though, especially those Jaws of Hakkon.

There should be a wartable mission on the southwest part of Ferelden, it costs 8 power points to unlock. It wotks only after Skyhold, and better to be level 20ish to start it.

I wouldn't say it is fully out. It is a partial release since only the Xbox 1 and PC have it. IMO it is just flat out rude even if costs $15. It is like only half of a class was invited to party and the rest weren't included. Come on EA/Bioware how would you like it if your siblings were invited to relatives house for a holiday dinner and you knew about and you weren't included and it was your favorite aunt and uncle.

Eh, there's nothing wrong with bringing back content that ended up on the cutting room floor to be fixed up and released as DLC. I mean, heck there are parts of the Citadel DLC that content cut from teh main game (like Joker's story at the bar)
What is important is incorporating how people responded to the vanilla game and using that to further polish and improve the dlc. From the sounds of things, I'm not sure that happened here.
I did not say anything was wrong with bringing back cut content. I said extra content is always welcome.
To me, the most messed up thing about this is that they're asking for $15 for content that was not improved upon, even after receiving feedback on their 'vanilla' game.
