Hakkon is the Korth's firstborn son, and Lord of Winter. He is master of the two bitter colds of frost and steel, and respect for him and his power leads the Avvars to follow him into battle: they prefer to raid and wage war in winter, when their resistance to the cold gives them the advantage over lowlanders

In all seriousness, this sounds like it may be dealing with Solas/Fen'Harel, but it doesn't say "Kill a Myth", it's "Dispel a Myth" so we may end up clearing Fen'Harel's name and possibly finding out more about what happened to the elven pantheon. That's what first came to my mind

Yeah, dispel a myth means more that we get to eliminate what it was thought to be, and possibly learn the truth, or part of the truth in any case.

On a side note: I am excited about the Avvar thing. I always found the tribal stuff very intriguing, and I would have chosen Sky Watcher over "I am so not Qun"-Bull any day of the week.

 

P.S.: I don't hate Bull, I hate that he's unhateable. Plus we already had an awesome Qunari.

Yeah, about those shards! When the Black Emporium gets here, it would be nice to be able to buy the Arishok's Vitaar as a schematic - just saying!

 

Skipping the shards has become one of my favorite parts of the game, by skipping them.

Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily connect the Winter Shards with the 9,087,142,563 shards you need to enter the Forgotten Oasis temple. If you do Champions of the Just, you collect shards as part of the nemesis quest, too.

You know, considering we are apparently interacting a bunch with the Avvar, I have a fear this whole legendary figure/dispelling myth thing will actually end up having nothing to do with Solas and everything to do with some figure of Avvar myth.

 

Would not put that kind of trolling past the Writers Pit.

The only thing that makes me think this has nothing/little to do with Solas is the fact that it involves the Avvar, aren’t they mainly based in the more inhospitable parts of Ferelden/Frostbacks?
