Just wanted to say: DA:I crashed my machine so hard last night that now it won't boot to BIOS. Thanks so much, Bioware. ![]()

Can we get confirmation as to whether the Amulets of power are going to be restored or not? I'm partway through a nightmare playthrough and about to storm adamant and go into the fade. Is it worth waiting for the next patch so I can collect the inquisitors amulet from there?

I played two playthroughs before patching the game from patch 1 up to patch 6, since I took a break for a few months.
My game has become much, much more unstable now... previously only crashed maybe once or twice, though I can't recall because of time. The game ran smoothly, though I had the banter bug.
Now? I crashed three times before the game agreed to run for longer than ten seconds past the first loading screen.
Also, weird glitches that necessitated restarting the game have begun occurring.
I made a new character, on my way to the church in Haven for the first time, only to find there is no door to the church, and, in fact, the entire floor is missing, so I'm standing on the terrain below the church. I walk through anyway, hoping the cutscene in the war room will activate and fix stuff. The war room door is missing, the floor is missing there too, and no one is standing inside and nothing happens when I walk through. Had to restart the game, but it did fix this weirdness.
Another thing happened where suddenly all of the party froze midrun and just hovered there. The rest of the interface was working (I could move the camera around, go to tactics mode, open up menus) but everyone was stuck and couldn't use abilities. Tried to "exit to main menu" got endless load screen. Shut down game, restart, rinse and repeat.
This is getting really on my nerves. People say Bethesda games can be glitchy and unstable, but I've never had instability close to this with those games - at vanilla base of the game. This is supposed to be a patch, but it's causing my game to be bipolar as hell, where it will crash repeatedly and then suddenly run fine for a few hours.
Some people seem to not have these issues though... but I hate not being able to degrade to a previous patch if this one is causing so much problems. :/ Normally, patches are supposed to improve, but Origins forces me to do this... siiigh. Steam would be the same, true, but it's just plain shitty for these cases where the programmers somehow wreck things more for your particular system.

It seems for a lot of people patch 6 has caused issues, not just with stability but for modding and the like. I myself am in the same shoes you are in, i played through several times with no problems, literally none at all. However after gettting back from overseas and being forced into patch 6 i can barely play the game without a crash or somehting going haywire. Not to mention the fact that i can no longer mod my game, i have to chose between the DLC or modability and even if i wanted to mod my game i have to roll back to patch five which i cant do cause there are no download sources for MANUAL patching. Highly dissapointed in the fact that they took out amulets of power just cause "some" people chose to cheat the system to get more. Hello bioware those people will just cheat using other methods, dont punish those of us who play fairly to stop cheaters cause you wont stop them if they really want to cheat they will and to be honest who cares if they cheat in SP?
On to modding, thats what seperates PC from consoles, the ability to mod. Let jus tput this out there Bioware DA:O was highly moddable, in fact you release mod tools early into the game and encouraged modding. DA:2 got hard to mod, not mod tools not much could be done with it aside from texture mods and the occaisonal weapons mods. DA:I no mod tools, patch six made in such a way that it stops modding dead in its tracks, almsot as though you designed it that way......im sensing a pattern here Bioware......are the EA overlords pulling your strings, or have you become like them. You used to support modding and encourage it now days you seem to despise it. You used to be my favorite developers.......now the only hope left is CDprojeckt. Shame on you bio shame on you

The amulets were intentionally removed.
Doubt that very much. If so, they would have removed the text that pops up and say that you should retrieve the amulet in The Fade quest. Also, how do you know that?

Ever since Patch 5 or 6, the Rift Mage's Firestorm focus ability has been nerfed. Even with a fully charged focus bar, I can't get the tier 3 effects--55 meteors--of Firestorm. I only get the tier 1 version with just a few meteors despite having 3 full focus bars.

Either....or, they are one and the same. I absolutely detest the bothersome Tactical camera nonsense. You can't even unbind it in the options menu. Even that bullshit is locked. That said, one can only assume that it was done deliberately, by either Bioware of Frostbite 3. The politics of gaming. They are trying to force gamers to play the game their way. You can't even turn of the damn tutorials.
Indeed, after a combined 750 hours playing DAI between me and my girlfriend, I still see her getting confused trying to use the Tac Cam (she plays with a controller). I'm not even considering using it, even in the toughest fights.
Surely, if that does not indicate to Bioware that they absolutely FAILED at this, then there is really no hope. I suppose their arrogance could blind them to this fact.
It's funny you'd say "they are trying to force gamer to play the game their way" since one of their marketing slogans for DAI was "Play the way you want to play".
Never seen a game developer undermine their own ideals like this. It's ridiculous.

I've found it useful in a few situation. Easier to get everyone to attack one target. The problems I get are when I try to get characters revive other characters. It rarely happens, they just start attacking again or don't finish the job. Even with Magic.

If you could play the game the way that you...the gamer....wants to, then you should be able to turn off the damn tutorials and unbind the "T" for that cursed "Tactical Mode." Or, whatever the hell it is. But you can't do any of those things. Probably because it is Frostbite 3. As it is every time I want to play a new game I have to go back into the "Options" menu to
(1) set the music volume back "50";
(2) go into the "Interface" to check the "Hide Helmet"; and,
(3) then into the "Dynamic Range Mode" to set the thing to "Headphones." (I have surround sound headphones.)
None of my other games albeit those of Bioware or of Bethesda does this.
Bioware tells great stories, but it seems that is all they are good for.

I'd like to bring this up with the new patch, but for my first Inquisitor (human male), I still keep crashing every time I engage the Venatori outside the Solasan Temple entrance. I tried fighting at a distance, but I barely get 5 or 10 seconds before another crash. On my 2nd and 3rd, I got through by pure luck, my 3rd using stealth, staring at the door while comps kills adds. The only way I can think to avoid this is going to the Oasis before playing Champions of the Just/In Hushed Whispers, where there are no Venatori, as I discovered on my 4th playthrough.
Hi Ziyon, which platform are you playing on?

I have encountered a sound bug since patch 6 with the installation and completion of the Jaws of Hakkon DLC.
I've been gaining influence for the quests and missions I complete, but since my Inquisition level is already 20, this is causing an issue. I am now at 22,290/22,000 experience for level 20, and every time I close a menu or enter an area, I hear the Inquisition level sound. It's as if the game is trying to grant my Inquisition a level or is notifying me that I have levelled even though I haven't.
I'm pretty sure this is the cause because it only happens on my saves which have my Inquisition experience past 20,000 at level 20. It's EXTREMELY annoying and is not fixed by reloading saves or completely restarting the game.
Hi Leeloo, which platform are you playing on (PC, X1)?

This is a problem with the main game and is not caused by DLC nor any of the patches. I've seen this reported on other forums months ago and it's happening to me too (X1). I think your guess is right: because you have hit the influence cap of 20, the game tries and fails to level up your influence every time you close a menu.
What's even more annoying is I have hit the hard cap of 27 after beating Jaws of Hakkon. Now, every time I close any menu, I hear the influence level up sound and the main level up sound at the same time. Absolutely ridiculous.

Bioware bugs are as plentiful as cockroaches and bed bugs it seems. I get the same thing every time I play or get near Red Lyrium, because of the Red Lyrium Quest.

[PS4] Ever since installing the patch, I have had choppier sound quality, especially during cutscenes.
Additionally, me and a friend have experienced a change in the AI of our Warrior companions. Blackwall and Cassandra have forgotten how to Shield Wall appropriately, and they frequently just take damage, drink a potion, and then repeat that process. Five minutes away from camp, I'm already out of potions because they burned through them all. I tested Iron Bull to see if his AI was also acting strange, and the answer was yes: he was taking massive amounts of damage, drinking all my potions, and never even attempting to get guard. I have checked the builds of my warriors and their tactics, but nothing seems to help. There's no point bringing a warrior with me anymore.
Is this a common issue for others?

for me and my core i7 lenovo laptop i am experiencing the following cut scene glitches, which leaves the character are locked into model form for the duration of the cut scene and on the conclusion of the scene the character is still in model for unless the game is restarted
-Champions of the just final battle of the envy demon (makes characters and companions also locked in model mode for the duration of the fight)
-First appearance of false arch demon (both arch demon and playable characters are stuck after cut scene)
-arrival of the specialists.
-judging of the avvar tribesmen.
also can there be way for a non rouge inquisitor to loot the things behind the lock rooms in haven.

also can the skin colored pajamas be changed to something a little less tight or make it so armor can be worn in Sky hold, or make the pajamas tint able.

I've never really had any major issues with the game, certainly nothing there wasn't a workaround for anyway, but ever since updating to patch six I get CTDs all over the place, no specific place and just at random times. It's making the game pretty impossible to play for a decent amount of time and actually get anything done.

For those with crash issues on patch 6, AMD reports "occasional crashes when using Mantle" for DA:I, and recommends using DirectX.
While in the past it seemed more stable, this could be your problem if you are on AMD. (see latest beta driver patch).
Maybe the next official driver will fix this.
If you are on Nvidia, I have no clue, sorry ![]()

Having severe difficulties with Dragon Age at the moment, so much so that I'm going to post a video in a bit...
Essentially I have a Dual Titan SLI rig on a 8 Core Intel 5960X platform. The game has Patch 6 installed and the Jaws of Hakkon DLC.
I was running on Nvidia driver 347.88 but that resulted in many crashes primarily during cut-scenes referring to a DirectX Fault sourced from an application submitting badly formed commands. Needless to say I rolled the driver back to 347.52. That has taken care of at least that problem, but the game is ridiculously unstable at this point in time. I cannot complete the battle against Hakkon because the game crashes every 5-10 minutes during the battle. I will post that video soon.
Interestingly, the game just freezes momentarily then bombs directly to the desktop. There are no warnings, no error messages just a freeze then crash. Nothing is reported in the eventlog either. This indicates that it is not a Windows software component failing. In the meantime guys I highly recommend Pillars of Eternity for those of you with similar problems, it has great RPG content minus the crashes. After 5 months I would have imagined that DAI would be minus those crashes too.

I hate to say this--for fear of jinxing myself--but so far DAI has been much more stable since the patch. I've not played that much, but the game used to crash almost hourly and hasn't crashed at all since the patch. I've created a new character and hope finally to finish the game. ![]()

I've heard of several folks now having issues with Simple Runtime Window Editor (SRWE) and DA:I after updating to Patch 6. It worked just fine up through Patch 5 and is an essential screenshot tool.
Can anybody on Patch 6 confirm that it still works?
*edit* Nevermind, just read back and saw that my question was answered. It doesn't work. Guess I won't be updating any time soon. ![]()
