Hi, I am a member of the DeadEndThrills screenshotting community, and have confirmed that hotsampling no longer works with Patch 6. The game does not re-render when the window is resized. I did some testing and narrowed down the culprits to the executable and dbdata.dll. Though I am sure it's not your top priority, it must have been a pretty significant change to cause this, since Frostbite 3 can be hotsampled out of the box, so far as I know.

I know a lot of people currently shooting this game, including myself, and while I don't mind remaining on Patch 5 to shoot what is there, it would be a shame if I am unable to shoot any of the DLCs. Your game is beautiful, and it would please many people if this issue could at least be looked into.

I've also heard that folks can no longer hotsample even after rolling back to Patch 5.

I rolled back to Patch 5 and have had no problems thus far. But you can't simply replace the patch because some files in the main folder were also changed. I'll PM you on Flickr about it.

I was expecting the Black Emporium in patch 6 and I am very disappointed that is not there. Is it going to be released at all? I rolled back to patch 5, so I don't know how the new patch works.

Anyways, I appreciate BW efforts to improve the game with all the patches, and I am grateful for it, but you created false expectative with the BE and this is a little annoying.

I have quarantined the game until further developments. When I can use my mods and modify my characters in game I will buy all the expansions and stuff and keep going with the game.

Cheers,

K

I believe "the Black Emporium" is scheduled for release in May according to the NO SPOILRS forum.

Thank you - I'm fine since I haven't updated, but I know several others are having issues. I will relay the process you provide so that they can fix their games.

I've also heard someone mention that RadeonPro (for SweetFX) no longer works with Patch 6. Not sure if that's connected though - just passing on the message.

Hello,

I've been playing on an XBox 360, deluxe edition from disks.  I never logged into the internet so I could dodge patches until I was sure they were not game breaking.  Game has been working fine for me without any patches.  I save frequently but only had to resort to a previous save once.  I have been watching the patch updates and noticed that with 5 things appeared to have been getting better and I haven't seen any complaints on six from any Xbox 360 users so last night I updated.

Initial results?

Visuals:  Improved, sharper than it was previously.  I did notice the floaty beard thing in the guy with Hawke, yeah that looks dumb but was just a brief annoyance.

Audio:  Less Banter than I have been having in other worlds.  I went to Crestwood for the first time last night, maybe this is normal for this place.  It was not non-existent, just less.

Amulets of Power:  I picked up four of them in the fight to claim the building you need before you go to the dam.  So they have not poofed for me.  Seemed a little excessive to be getting so many.  I don't really know what they do.  These were generic, did not seem to be assigned to anyone.

Loading.  Initial loading time subjectively seemed slightly faster.  Loading in between scenes seemed slightly longer, again no clue if this is specific to Crestwood or the new norm.  Regardless it was not so long as to be terribly annoying.

Patch 5 features: Storage at Skyhold and tinting both work fine.  Tinting is a little annoying in that I thought we would be able to be more freewheeling with the color choices, but that is not a bug.

Tan pajamas??-Missing:  I don't know what you all are talking about.  Everyone is wearing their usual garb in Skyhold.

I just got to skyhold and my dude runs around in these ugly grey pajamas. Now I see what the fuss is about. As leader of the free world its not right for me to be seen like this, I'm kinda embarrassed.

The same occurs for the similar requisition in the Emerald Graves (the one that also requires the ancient writings).

You can fill the requisition, but it doesn't get removed from your recipes, you don't get any power from it, and you can't get another requisition from the officer.

hahahahaha that's the best comment ever! And yes, the pajamas are career ending stuff!

I hope we don't get another gazillion gigabytes update to correct the gazillionbytes broken update and the palamas. :)

Very strange experience in the Haven inn a couple days ago. My character turned to read the book about the ptarmigan, and the image tore in half, revealing a bit of desktop and a square white box containing an error message. The strange part was that the image closed up again, and the game continued without crashing. I didn't have to click on anything to close the error message. It was just gone when I later quit the game.

[PC] Great my mouse cursor is now invisible. I've tried switching display/mouse options/reloading saves/restart game. Not having any luck so far.

EDIT NVM. Fixed it, I accidently toggled/untoggled the "mouse look" button (mapped U in my case). Another case where the problem was between the chair and the monitor :D

Yeah. I'm actually taking a break from the game. I don't feel like adding Jaws of Hakkon before the amulets are fixed, so waiting for an upcoming patch in which they hopefully are restored before buying the DLC and starting a new game.

If they aren't restored, I'm giving up on bioware altogether. It's the principle of the matter. They "fix" an "exploit" while their are plenty of real bugs that need fixing. Makes absolutely no sense.

I've noticed in DAMP, enemies can pass through gates in the Elven Ruins layout. This was me playing on Xbox One.

I've also noticed that I cannot modify my Bloodwake staff in Multiplayer (on the Xbox One). Any time I add an upgrade to it (no matter the type: Grip, blade, rune) an error message pops up saying it could not modify the weapon. There was a topic posted earlier about this, but it seems as though it was quite a while back when the game first launched.

Dear Bioware.

5 months now since the infamous patch 2 which shut many, many of us off the game on PC.

We are very tired.

Take action.

Please, thank you.

I'm having some issues since the latest patch. I have been getting 2 hit by enemies and insta-dying since the patch. I'm a level 19 Reaver and I've tried different variations of armor and nothing works. It's the same thing every where I go in the game. My party members are fine. Only my inquisitor gets destroyed instantly in every encounter. Is there a fix for this or did I get one of those game breakers?

I'm quite ok with not being able to exploit the Amulet of Powers to gain infinite ability points, but to just flat out remove them from various parts of the game is either incredibly stupid or an incredibly terrible oversight.

I'm more peeved about not being able to dupe crafting materials anymore, if only because farming for materials can get very tedious and boring once you get into a 3rd or 4th playthrough. And it's not about trying to become overpowered or make obscene amounts of gold, it's about trying to save time when wanting/needing to craft new items.

Also, is it just me or did they actually seem to make Thousand Cuts less powerful? I get that I can't abuse Flask of Fire to use Thousand Cuts without any cost now, but about half the time, I've noticed Thousand Cuts actually appears to be less effective now, even on it's own.

I am highly, Highly disappointed in BioWare decision to stop exploits in a single player. The game is an amazing game no doubt about that. The action, the story, the decision to be straight or gay or lesbian. Dragon Age is truly one of the best games I've ever played second to only Skyrim, in my eyes. With all that being said reason why I'm upset at the decision to stop an exploit that, apparently would not take the fun out of the game nor would make BioWare lose money. Here are my reasons
1. The exploits were not harming any other players from enjoying the game. One thing i love about exploits such as duping, hacking etc is it allows me to play the game the way I want it to be. So what if I want all my characters to be overpowered and all hitting 10k 20k 30k+ is that not my decision to do so? Is that not what my intentions are?
2. I paid $60 freaking bucks, I don't know about you guys but $60 freaking bucks is still $60 FREAKING BUCKS! Why can't I enjoy a game the way I want to play it if I'm willing to invest my money and little time that I have?
3. The little time that I have! I can't afford to play the game so often as most people would, with that being said farming and repeatedly farming in my eyes is a waste of my time. Duping the ingredients, upgrades, runes etc helped significantly! I was able to enjoy the game even though I was taking advantage to something that was being taken advantage of in the past Dragon Age games.
4. There's not enough dragons in this game to be able to craft the gears the way i want it to be. Making crafting extremely annoying. By the time we are able to craft a gear (for only one character) we are nearing the end of the game!
5. BioWare is not losing any money off this exploit, I would totally understand if this was a situation in multiplayer and people were upset of how exploiting ruined the game. I would back BioWare 199% in stopping it. The exploit is on single player, where everything, every decision only affects one person...Me
6. Stopping the exploit actually ruined the game for some. In Skyrim I exploited the crap out of the game, to this day I still play Skyrim. I bought all the dlc and everything.
7. PC users are capable of exploiting, we console gamers should be allowed to have that privilege as well.
To wrap it all up, Duping money, gears etc did not take the fun out of the game, actually it made the game much more enjoyable . The exploit is not affecting anyone but the ones who choose to exploit. The game would still be enjoyable and appreciated by those who picks how they want to play it.
