It appears that this patch has broken my game. I cannot get it to load past the initial load up screen. I see the little green Inquisition symbol appear on the bottom flare a few times before my game just closes. Does anyone know if I uninstall the game to reinstall it, will it delete all my characters and saves?

It will not delete your saves and characters they are in could and in your computer if you use pc.

You can copy your saves to another location to be certain. They are stored in Libraries > Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age Inquisition > Save I believe.

I'd repair the game before uninstall/reinstall. It would take less time and might just solve your problem.

Many enemies don't chase our player characters even if we are attacking them (from a distance).
It is specially obvious in Solasan Temple.

I was wondering if it is intentional or just an unexpected consequence.

Do the shoulders show up in 3rd person view?

No. They're like that all the time (inventory, in the world...). It's been like that since patch 5 but nobody seemed to fix it. I hope reporting directly to you here helps bring attention to it and the team can finally fix it. This is on PC.

Is this just on Pc or on consoles as well?

It's on all platforms, but controller users have a duping exploit they can use to just recreate the missing amulets (as long as you can get one to dupe).

All but 3 or 4 of the amulets that could be found as loot have been removed from the game (regardless of whether they were susceptible to being exploited or not) as of Patch 5, though you'll still get the ones from war table operations and as quest rewards.

Is this happening to you on PC?

Yes, it is on my PC. It took a couple of times for me to fix because it quit half way through the first repair, but I finally got the game running again. My 17 year old son is rubbing it in my face that he didn't have any problems with his game or computer.

Thanks also to Helpthisguy and Tinolyn for their advice too. I was dreading having to uninstall because the first repair failed.

ETA on the remaining patch notes, since it's clear that a bunch of things (MP Zone 5 locking, etc.) were left out?

I also have the "Cassandra missing shoulders" issue as well on the Xbox One. This has existed since the game was released, at least for the Xbox One. The issue carries over into third person view and in cutscenes as well.

I'm not sure which armor and arm upgrade combinations cause the issue though, but it seems to occur more often than not in my experience.

800 MB For this? Really? There's something wrong.

Same.

This is crap. The patches render mods obsolete, don't fix anything anyone cares about, take up huge amounts of space, are mandatory (I can't even play the goddamn game) and Origin is telling me I've got fifteen hours to wait for it to download. Nice.

Now it's saying the update is 1.2 gb? What the hell are you people doing? Not your jobs, apparently.

Hey Kendar, is the game crashing for you on startup with a console? If so, which console?

Hi Verozth, which platform are you playing on?

I can't even start the game at the moment. The process "dragonageinquisition.exe" briefly pops up in task manager, then closes again without any message or anything.  Here comes the game repair, I suppose...

EDIT: the game repair downloaded another 742 MB, which oddly took much longer than the displayed network speed would indicate. The game starts again now.

If any of you have mods and tried the patch 5 solution with patch 6, it will prevent the game from loading and freezes at the start.

Idiotic system. Forces me to download the patch when my game was working perfectly well without it, and now all I get is an error message after 10 percent is downloaded. Time was when I could buy a game and play it without constant interference from the internet, but no, that was too easy, I guess. So screwed up. Why force me to download the patch at the same time as thousands of other people to the point that the servers can't handle the load?

Hi. Any chance that we can use the d-pad of an xbox 360 controller on my PC to navigate through menus? I keep forgetting that it doesn't work and somehow I still find it hard to navigate through main menus with the analogue stick.

I can confirm.

This patch is preventing me from playing with mods which, at this point, no longer makes the game worth playing. Plus, I'm sure the lack of mods on my current save files would have some kind of downside besides simply not being there. Until it's fixed--and I'm hoping Bioware will fix this instead of making its fanbase fix everything as usual--I won't be playing the game. Damn shame, too, as I was really in an Inquisition mood.

Also, seconding the urgency fix the super gross, messed up male elf anatomy please (including the weird, broken feet). :(

Edit: While I'm at it, I'm also seconding the super quiet sound. It was too quiet right from the beginning before any patches, and I can't tell if patches have made it worse, but I am also bothered by how quiet it is. I don't like having to fiddle with my master volume of my speakers just for one thing. I was legitimately surprised when I went to adjust the game's volumes that it wasn't on <50% by default with how quiet it was. It's quite annoying not being able to do anything about that in-game.

Hi Jesse, I understand how frustrating it is for you not to be able to play. Can you tell me what platform you're playing on (e.g., PC, PS4, etc)?

Also, feel free to head over to EA Help to file a ticket.

Fantastic. Now enemies are getting caught behind the closed door during Wave 5 of multiplayer, making it impossible to finish the game.  No amount of taunting, pull of the abyss, etc. will get them through the door, so the game is now broken.
